What purpose did shooting the walls serve? They could have thrown rocks at the walls and knocked off just as much material as his rifle did.
As an American with literally Oodles of guns I can tell you that, that entire scene was for show and it didn't even turn out very well. I guess they are trying to impress other people from around the world that may not have even the slightest experience with firearms.
