For the first time in 23 years, we get a closer look at the canceled Mario's World, Super Smash Bros., and Zelda Ocarina of Time figure lines from ToySite!
Man, it's crazy that we have managed to uncover all of this previously unseen stuff. Who would've guessed that there would've been a set based on the original Super Smash Bros.? Really makes me wish we lived in a world where these DID get released. Thanks for bringing attention to all of this, LSuperSonicQ!
Oh I am _devastated_ that we never got those Candy Catchers. I had the Charmander one as a kid and I treasured that thing. I can't even imagine how much I would've obsessed over the Bowser, Banjo, and Mumbo ones.
With how detailed these documents are I wonder how easily someone could make 3D printable versions of some of these, no way replacements for the real thing but more into a window of what almost was.
I had a super Mario kart watch that had audio of Mario saying “move over, Luigi” but it was before Charles martenit started voicing Mario so I don’t know who it was
@@phoenixdouchebag904 I imagine a good chunk of that was due to companies re-using molds back in the day so you had he-man's body with someone else's face, but still its funny. Who needs force when you got GAINS.
You’ve got to cover Cookies Bustle! It’s actively being erased from the internet by this guy named “Ukie” due to copyright claims and it’s really sad! It’s a old 90’s cd game with a lot of charm and love put into it, even having the voices of Doraemon and many other notable Japanese VAs. I can’t find any of the cutscenes or gameplay on RUclips or ANYWHERE.. vinesauce played the game but that was taken down and he even made a video about that… PLEASE BRING THIS GAME TO LIGHT! We can’t have it lost to the void and your dedication to the topic is admirable!!
I don't know what's more amazing: the amount of research and passion that went into making this video or the fact that nobody else ever attempted to make Super Smash Bros action figures. I think Jakks Pacific could (and definitely should) revive Smash Bros. as a collector's line, since they have the Nintendo & Sega licenses. They can even have a few waves dedicated to Mii costume fighters and assist trophies. Hell, make them scale with the Jada Street Fighter and Bandai Game Dimensions Tekken figures. I swear, there's so much potential there.
Wow it’s insane how you tracked this down, insane in a good way obviously. Your a legend… I miss this era of plushes where they all looked a bit off. It added charm…
I would've loved to have these toys as a kid, especially the Smash Bros figures. I loved battling my toys against each other and combining their universes: Baxter Stockman the Fly Man vs N64 Starfox would've been the stuff of legends.
I'm glad you decided to make this and the video game rumors videos. It's nice to see you to give new and updated versions on some of your older types of content, and helps give a bit more variety to what's mostly a lost media channel, while still being in the same sorta realm as lost media, though I'm aware you and some other people consider certain rare merchandise lost media like the figures in this video lost media.
The Mario's World line of toys would've been easily the greatest Nintendo toyline of all time. Imo the N64 era is the best that most of these characters ever looked. Sadly, we didn't get a real Nintendo toyline until the World Of Nintendo line, which uses the modern and imo much less charming and expressive designs.
This is so awesome. Thank you so much for this video! Can you imagine if they rereleased a remastered version today? That is just free money right there. Those would sell put so quickly
The most I ever knew of BD&A was during the Nintendo Wii generation, so this is incredible to see their partnership with Nintendo has a longer lifespan. These design documents and early models are very cool and I can imagine how they would move and feel for their time, based on other action figure toys I had around then.
The thing that makes me even more sad other than the cancellation. Is that if these were not canned, we could have seen them have in older style RUclips stop motions from the likes of SonicToast, having that smash bros line, dragon wario and banjo deluxe. And i feel like we were robbed from that
I do wonder if it's possible for a company to do what Super7 did with the cancelled Alien toyline that Kenner was supposed to make and make toys based on all of these cancelled Mario, Smash and Zelda toylines, especially with how popular those series have become.
Toy Fair just happened for the first time in 3 years this past month, I got to go as a student! The event is where a ton of companies make like 75% or more of their yearly sales to distributors. It could have been that the cancelled toys didn’t get any buyers for the product so never went through with manufacturing? Some of the companies were selling off their display items on the last day so I assume that’s how people get these random toy samples
When i was a kid and a huge Mario fan in the n64 and game cube era i noticed that there were no Mario related toys at all. i now know that they had Mario related toys in the 80s and very early 90s but i think they stopped making them in 1991 or something. and i think they were only in north America and japan not Europe because back then the gaming industry was very different in different countries. and here in Europe the nes was not as popular as sega mastersystem or c64. but in the middle of the 90s Nintendo got more popular here and the gaming market was almost the same as in north america .anyway i finally did see mario toys here in 2006 but by that point i was starting to reach puberty so i didn't care much anymore.
These kinds of things make me wish I was some kind of time traveling hoarder supervillain who just goes on time theft sprees taking old things and bringing them back to the current day so they can be preserved in perfect condition and archived.
The bowser one's interesting to me as the mario movie bowser is almost a succesor to that! Tho instead of spraying water, he mists it. But he still breathes "water" instead of fire, and his switch is in his back (tho the resevoirs now in his head). They just seem very similar to me which is very cool! Maybe some of the other features can also return in succesor ways like bowser
17:37 if these were resin they were likely cast in-house but if production was slated to begin, master molds likely exist as well (and possibly steel molds, although those are likely to have been melted down and reused)
I remember the super ball with the characters inside, I actually had the Mario one but I don’t know where I got it or when I got rid of it but I’d keep looking for that one since I remember that picture on the box.
Im wondering what the candy catchers candy would look like as i have a pichu one and it had flat disk pokeball stamped candy i guess the mario ones would have coins? Or ones stamped with a star?
Anyone know the song that starts at 13:31 ?? He has listed the artist in another vid a few months back, but I couldn’t seem to find it on his channel when I did find him.
It’s so weird to see Banjo Kazooie actually being Nintendo characters, like they were designed to be. Microsoft needs to actually eat the fifth gen mascot platformer vegetables they have if they want any desert (Crash and Spyro).
10-18-23 I wonder whether anyone, with the specs and everything, could figure out how to recreate them in physical form, so we can see what they might have been like had they came out.
Can you help me find a short called the Tenor about an ostrich who wants to be an opera singer. It was created by an animator named Thor Freudenthal and aired on spike and mike's festival of animation.

Lost: Me and My Friends Pilot London after Midnight (1927) Battalion, A Stripped down version of Tank Battalion Shrek HP Commercial Looney Tunes - By a Hare, A Sega Arcade Game Found: Super Why Pilot Blue Prints Pilot Thanks!
ik because of legal reasons logan from sml probably cant talk about this but does he still have the mario figure from the first video he has made i just remembered his channel exists and saw he had a law suit so im wondering
I hope these plushies toy & action figures can be found very soon. Also, I'm hoping they can find these lost cartoon network's plush/action figures, so I could buy / keep them as my collection / treasure them ( and play a little ), who knows where it's at? But if it's found, please keep in updated ( let me know ). 👍👍😊😊
The biggest loss was evil Kirby. It fills me with great sadness that I will never see that wicked, strange little man in physical form 😔
Tempted to find out how to make 3D printed figures just to make a replica of Evil Kirby.
@@moonbunny24better yet a replica of the entire lost toy line
@@moonbunny24I WAS GOING TO SAY THAT!!!
You can tell how much love and dedication was put into the concept and figures. It's really sad to see they never came out.
And even with all of that they still look like crap
Though now through 3D printing we could technically recreate them since we have the technical drawings
Honestly fax, wish we had more exciting toylines these days, but maybe I'm a little old for it.
Can 3d printers do the plastics they would've been made from?
@@joeybuddy96 indeed they could, it'd work best with resin 3D printing as it allows higher details in prints

that Blue Yoshi figure is so good I'm sad it was never released
What I find cool is that someone could make fairly accurate physical recreations of the smash bros figures with how much detail is in the sheets
Damn. Banjo be jacked.
I had a super Mario kart watch that had audio of Mario saying “move over, Luigi” but it was before Charles martenit started voicing Mario so I don’t know who it was
As a toy collector; this is an amazing find.
13:25 if they were actually released I bet we could make a re-creation of slamfest 99 with toys
I wonder what was going through the 2d artist's mind when he drew banjo from 7:00 so goddang shredded.
Why is he so hot tho
Man-Beast
Most toys always exagerate male characters to be buff as possible. Just look at old Luke Skywalker toys or Power Rangers.
@@phoenixdouchebag904 dude its actually so hilarious. every male power ranger was a literal twink but the action figures are TWUNKS.
@@phoenixdouchebag904 I imagine a good chunk of that was due to companies re-using molds back in the day so you had he-man's body with someone else's face, but still its funny. Who needs force when you got GAINS.
When I was a kid, I had the ocarina of time figures they sold at EB games. Then electronics boutique.
I had the Link figure also. They were definitely released and available in the late 90s, and I sold mine on ebay around 15 years ago for like $50
I don't know. The face on the Kirby figure concept looks accurate to how commercials in the U.S. has depicted Kirby.
This man has the scariest of thumbnails in all of his videos

Someone should do a 3D printed line of the unreleased figures. That would be sick
This comment should be pinned.
This is absolutely mind blowing stuff. Just goes to show that even decades later you can uncover new information! Beyond cool!
Kirby looks awfully mischievous 😂
It reminds me of the old kirby ads which is probably where they got the inspiration from
