Half of these comments are just trash talk.. this tool is for the homeowner pr do it yourselfers.. this is a great product for those not in the trade. I work construction and i bought one of these. Im not a brick layer but im already looking forward to using it.
It is pretty pointless though, i mean laying a bed of mortar is sooo easy, i know it takes time to do it like a brickie but shit man it only takes a few more seconds that using this silly tool.
The walls have zero strength as no suction is being created and/or no mortar is being pushed in to the brick recess. You can literally lift the bricks up by hand once it's dried.
ONLY an Irishman could come up with something so simple, yet so bloody useful. I bought one of the first "Bricky's" and I'm about to use it for the first time. I KNOW I'm going to be VERY glad I bought it, and when I saw it, I just had to support Noel (who was just starting out). I also bought ALL his DVD's. Noel, if you can make one that can do curved walls, that would be VERY useful too. I have a few ideas, but I'm not interested in commercialising any of them.
Tips on Building a Wall Splash down bricks/ blocks to saturate them with water but leave to surface dry before placement. When working with very porous materials such as Aircrete/ lightweight block brush PVA adhesive (polybond) onto the joint surfaces before placement. Mortar Mix - 6 part building sand, 1 part cement & 1 part hydrated lime, add water with plasticiser or PVA adhesive mixed 5:1 in the water. (Never use washing up liquid) bricky.com
I'm a bricklayer and the only way to learn to lay bricks is to get on the line. this misses out cornering and setting out so it starts from an assumption that these things are known...which if they were, you really wouldn't need this tool.

Are you real or just taking the just taking the piss, all bricks vary in depth and length for that wall to work out all the bricks would have had to be the same length, if they were mixed you would have one end plump and the other end would not be plump what would you put in the end the other end a bit of facia or some skirting board. Bricklayers don't work to 10mm beds or 10mm perps they work to gauge, we adjust accordingly, we can make the two reveals plumb this toy will not, period end of the debate, either you have no clue or you have a vested interest, which one is it
Tommy is highly trained in brickwork - if he were not, would not know anything about cementing levels; consistency of layering or dimensional bedding. Tommy Walsh possesses a of wealth of DIY information even if the other presenter just a sales rep; and where the two depart from one another. I think it is great that we are given easy and practical tools to do DIY at a fraction of the price it would otherwise cost to have the work all done for you.
All these negative comments from the so called 'Pro's' makes me chuckle. Any idiot (even your average brickie) can see this tool is aimed at the home DIY'er for simple jobs and not for experienced bricklayers to build a 3 storey house. Get some perspective guys and don't feel so threatened. At least one thing to gain for the Diy'er customer is when he orders his bricks he will pay for the right amount and not the usual brickie prices of two for you and one for me (yes we all know it goes on).

I wish the so called bricklayers who built my house had bought one, perps from 3mm to 20mm liberally sprinkled around the house and holes at the top of lots of perps. It's a great tool to give beginners confidence

So you can build extensions etc, head height for lintels in the UK is 2.100 mm that is made up of 28 courses , the gauge is 75 mm i.e. 75/150/225 if a brick 63 mm the bed is 12mm so the bed is altered plus or minus what is important is the gauge ( not 10 mm beds) So unless you would use bricks that are all 65mm deep this will not work, how can you get to gauge when you have use bricks that are 63mm, 10mm plus 63mm is 73 that 2mm minus out of gauge, over 28 courses that's 56 mm out of gauge.Hard baked bricks go down to 62 that 3mm that's 84 mm out over 2.100, now if you are 2.090 or 2.110 mm that's ok but not 56mm or 84mm , don't take my word for it find out the tolerances in the manufacture of bricks, ask about gauge don't take my word.The maths are there 10 mm bed 63mm brick= 73mm ( that 2mm minus on 1 course) i agree it's a good tool for building flower beds etc , and also bricks vary in length the gauge being 225/450/675 if a brick is 212 the perp is 13 to take it to 225, any builder/ bricklayer will keep the perps in line, to achieve this we open or tighten up the perps, if we would have 10mm perps the perps would not be aligned when you eye them from top to bottom, let say we keep 10 mm perp and we are 20 mm short my the reveal bung some plastic facia in there to hide the shortfall?, no we open out or tighten to suit accordingly
thats good for just doing standard half brick walls but if you want an english bond or flemish maybe then its not going to work. also if you want to include a diaper in there to this is not going to help much at all. However the line is a good invention
Firstly, bricklaying is a 3 dimensiional skill that is quite difficult to master but with time, practice and experience of proper methods, walls can be built plumb and level this device might be ok if bricks are exactly the same size, wall length and height are measured and gauged precisely - but any bricklayer will tell you that is a very rare occurrence - in fact never in my experiencce as a bricklayer with over 30years experience -. the bricklayer must overcome these discrepancies and these 'tools; will never do that - i have never seen any decent bricklayer lay a bed of mortar like that - don't waste your money on it - just get an experienced bricklayer to build your wall .
I've always wondered what you do with the wall you've built on a trade show floor. Do you just bash it apart every evening to make room for the next day's demonstrations? -jcr

Is there a tool for cutting into existing masonry and showing how to tie in +fold dpc at cills and head hight +up jambs if so great now all we need is an other chippy with to much time on his hands to tell a pilot how to crash land a plane 😂😂😂not a wood plane 😁oh plus an unemployed celeb pleb

Yes that is the truth but what I do not like is the way it portrays that you can do extensions etc, it's mathematically impossible to do so
