We went to RURAL South Korea to sample some authentic traditional Korean Street Food! What do you think so far of our Korean series? Follow us behind the scenes - facebook.com/chopsticktravel and instagram.com/derpyluke
Another great vid! The drone shots were beautiful and food looks delish as always. Love the traditional food as I don't or rarely see that on another channel.
I love how you guys review food. After spending several days watching other food vloggers, it was a pleasure coming back. You give honest assessment of food and what you like better than others. It helps those of us who are planning to travel to these areas. With some food vloggers, it’s difficult to get a sense if something is not good because they seem to gush over everything or like everything. It doesn’t ring true with me, because as a dedicated food lover that dislikes very little, I can at least acknowledge the foods I don’t like or where some place is better than another. Thank you for your great videos and honest reviews.
The grandma making pancakes, I remember seeing her on The Return of Superman!!!!! I forgot which episode but it was the one when Seungjae and his dad came to buy rice cake next door to this place!
Luke, your editing is on point! Do a video and share more about you, why you are in Taiwan, your language proficiencies, how you get to travel so much, links to other stuff like Instagram. Blow Up man!
Wooowww!! I am a big great fan of South Korean food! It all seem soooo tasty. I can't remember if I have ever tried any... but it all looks sooooo fantastico. That last restaurant was amazing. That soup with the dumplings... oh man, it made me hungry looking at it. I really love and appreciate soups that have a clear broth, and with just some chunks of veggies or food inside. Yes, like I said, that soup made me fall in love! I would like to try those korean fish cakes one day.... It seem so tasty... And i LOVE fish! Thanks Luke ! Merry Christmas!!
09:15 ... Mandu Soup, possibly my favourite Korean food, your so lucky to be eating that, it just warms your through and fills you with food happiness!
Hi, that side dish is not a sliced asian pear. That is sliced radish. Also, dukbokgi is the spicy version of the rice cake. It is just rice cake in your soup and not dukbokgi. I love your videos and I am just making some corrections for the viewers. I hope you don't mind. :)
Beautiful vedio .....thanks for sharing in this weather at pyoengchang ....thanks for sharing vegetarian options too ......god bless... Be safe Namaste
Very good healthy foods love your beautiful video thank you for sharing your beautiful video Bless you both, keep it coming with your beautiful video, 26-11-18:
Beautiful food you going to try them out your taste buds love to see you enjoy your foods very good thank you for sharing this video is so good Bless you both .
Thanks for posting a lot about Korean food markets! I’m looking forward to heading there soon 😁 keep up the great content! Please do come visit Manila, Philippines soon!
Its radish not pear~ oh this video really wants me to eat some Korean food!!! Now!!!! Lol I hope you enjoyed your time in Korea! Please come back and do more of Korean food!
Fried sweet potato was one of my absolute favorite street foods when I was there but I think it’s kind of a seasonal thing. You should try it if you ever have the chance! 🍠🍠🍠🍠
Ahhhhh making me hungry again!!! I’ve just ordered cod and chips from my local which is literally four doors down from me these guys have a nice Chinese curry sauce , that’s as exotic as it is here!! I don’t know if I should love you or hate you Martin and Sabrina 😗😗😗
Wow. This is amazing! You have tried even more local traditional foods of Gangwondo province than me as I am a Korean!! (Btw the one you consider a pear actually is some part of a radish.) I am looking forward to watching your new video!! In fact it will be really helpful for me to travel my country too!!
Love how you are using the drone to give us a beautiful view of the landscape. Wish we have authentic Korean street food here in Houston TX. That Red bean donut looks good wish I can have it for breakfast right now haha
+Phi Ology thanks Phi! Im really happy with the way the drone is looking! That red bean donut wad deliciously sweet and crispy! Hope you get a chance to try some authentic Korean cuisine
Interesting method of cutting the fish cakes just before dropping them off in the hot oil. I remember eating hotteok in Korea in winter, & it was lava hot! I don't know how you managed to hold it & eat it off the grill like that. The drone footage of the mkt from above helped visualize the market size. Thank you for another great video!
The side dish you tried is not pear but radish, we usually put pear in Cold noodle (Nayang Myun) or other cold dishes such as raw fish sliced mix with vegetables with chili sauce- usually in summer time.
Looks incredible Luke! That mandu soup looked perfect and such a great way to end. The buckwheat pancake was super interesting too! Loved seeing the cooking method. Great video! PS love the drone shots!
+Chasing a Plate - Food and Travel Channel thanks guys! We loved making this video so interesting seeing a different side of Korea! Nothing like Seoul but still delicious foods to be had:)
Buckwheat pancake and kimchi.. YUM.. Hotteok ,, Mandu Soup.. all good. And I'm still waiting on my take out from the previous video, The Steamed Pork Buns.. must take a while to get here from Korea.. LOL.. Peace..

My favorite Pyeongchang food is "Susubukkumi" which are made of sorghum and red bean. It has sweet and neat taste, little bit chewing. You can meet it in Pyeongchang olympic traditional market.

The side dish you tried is not pear but radish, we usually put pear in Cold noodle (Nayang Myun) or other cold dishes such as raw fish sliced mix with vegetables with chili sauce- usually in summer time.

The lady wears a sheep hat while cooking looks so cute XD
+Lee Loves Food hahah yes i loved her hat! But her hotteok i loved even more hehe
That area is SUPER cold, so I can see why she would wear a wooly hat even while cooking next to hot oil.
flippin' heck - I'd get on really well with Korean food :-)
Oh yeah its hard not too haha

"Dduk bok gee" is the spicy rice cake dish that's a popular street food. What you meant was just "dduk" in "dduk guk".

+CH Interiors.88 thanks for watching. Hope you get to visit soon:)
omg hodduk looks soooo goood!
Good video! the street food is called to Pajeon. Korean people like eating the food in raining day. Are you staying in Korea for Olympic?
I think that old lady making pancake looks familiar...is she the one who gave ko jiyong and seungjae pancake at one of tros episode?
Doekbokki is the cooked rice cakes usually in the hot sauce but doek itself is a rice cake like the one you ate in the soup or rice cakes in general
my mouth is watering 🤤
Subscribed!! I am from Saint John :)
what kind of drone are you flying to get those shots?
so this street food is gone now? i m about to go there this month..
