He did her that favor of letting her be buried alone and not with him, he knew he ultimately fucked uo their entire relationship and love and that there was no going back, even in death. Its crazy how both Ula-Nala ladies were both empresses in love, but one begged to be buried with the emperor while the other wanted nothing to do with him in life and death. Her cutting her hair was saying he lost her completely, from his own actions.
And I know history has no idea why the emperor destroyed all her records and paintings, but I hope this story is accurate to why that is, it makes the most sense. I heard Ruyis actress portrayed the real Ula-Nala Empress perfected in terms of demeanor and personality.
This made me tear up Ruyi looked so sad at the end
😢 it’s really sad!! Her love for Hongli and her heart has disintegrated, signified by her burning her own image!! It’s truly tragic…. If it’s possible to turn back time and if Hongli married Ruyi from the beginning, the history of the dynasty would have been very different and a lot more successful!! 😔
