All that light was my favorite part of working summers up there. I got used to the light pretty quickly. If you're working hard or playing hard you can sleep even if it looks like noon out there.

That 10:10 pm lol wow ! I could never do that. But I am blown away by your backyard view. I’m in Florida and it’s always so hot 🥵 Alaska is truly a picture perfect scene.

To a resident from the other side of planet's perspective, this kind of weather phenomenon is somewhat abnormal to me. Glad you're enjoying your summer solstice their Jake.

I got to experience the other extreme when I was up near Fairbanks for training. It got light out about 10am and dark at 2pm. I need to make it back up sometime to experience this extreme. Thanks for sharing the video.

Fairbanks is super light in the night hours of summer. The sun barely dips below the horizon… it doesn’t even really get dusky there

If I lived in Alaska I would use blackout curtains so I can sleep at night since the sun stays out all night. I would likely have blackout curtains in all the bedrooms to make it dark since the sun doesn’t set for months

Awesome, I have wondered about that.
Right now I am up at 4:30 and it is light and dark at 10:30 , pretty dark unless there's a moon , then it is very light.
N.E Washington Right at the border at 3500' altitude. I also wonder what the difference is in S.E Alaska.
    Very interesting. 👍

There are downsides to this incredible lightness in the summer, other then sleepless nights.
Crime is a 24 hr event in Anchorage and mat-su valley as we as the rest of the state. Kids don’t want to go to bed which in turns creates less sleep for everyone. Your body doesn’t want to go to bed even when your eyes and mind tell you it’s after midnight.
But if you have time off there isn’t any place you can spend 24 hrs a day playing outside in the summer.
I never thought I would admit that I do miss it, or should I say portions of it. Mosquitoes are also out 24/7 and they SUCK!
    Thanks for the video.

it seems so trivial.. like it would be fun for a while.. .but there is no way I could handle that day in and day out... especially those brutal dark cold winters .. I like my days more even, day even night..
