All I can say is that you're a very brave man - Love Lane is borderline: LOL. Below Charles Street is one side and above is another side. If you've noticed you'll see that between Charles and North Street is very quiet and abandoned - because that's exactly where the borderline is, a kind of a No-Man's Land. The fellows you passed playing football if they were watching you they might have said who's that person driving all the way from North Parade up through Fletcher's Land. Anyway I'm thankful of your efforts though and God go with you always, love.
@Steph Galapagos7 To be honest you know that when I drive through some neighborhoods I get more attention to the car than what I am about. They always saying "give me something" or "let it go" words to that effect because most youths love fast cars. Not saying they are totally distracted though.. still have to be careful
Who's real life? I'm from Santa Cruz and that scene depicted wasn't my real life growing in Jamaica. No gun shots, no violence, no grill on my house, no bunch of pregnant teens, no women plating up dem head pon de street, no baby fadders (people got married where i'm from), we might not have been rich but we did't live in squalor. We respected our neighbors, didn't covet their things, didn't wage war on our neighbors etc. I'm tired of people saying when they show ghetto, this is the real Jamaica. Most of Jamaica, 85%, is not ghetto. Downtown Kingston, Spanish town and flankers do not represent the majority of Jamaica and it shouldn't be promoted as so. It's like if people only showed Detroit, West Philly, Baltimore, Compton, Underhill, Overton, South Bronx, Southside of Chicago, Brownsville, etc and said "this is the real America" when less than 5% of America looks anything like that.
kwacou ...I want you to know most of what you said is screwed up. In every city in America there is area that looks bad. Every State. Reason. That’s where people starts out. And move into wider space. More land etc. All that no baby father and pregnant teens. Most of you stuff were put downs. In the country houses were far apart. Less people. But I won’t bother to say any more. You were fortunate.
Everytime I watch your uploads my eyes are always drawn to the blue skies😍..I used to walk love lane everyday when I stayed on tex lane in 87 as rough as anything BUT there's something about downtown vibes you just don't get uptown..I wouldn't have stayed anywhere else! Thanks for sharing 👍
InJamaica . The most interesting part of Jamaica is always going to be those Nooks an Crannies. The Lanes and narrow streets. Because no matter where you lived in Jamaica. You always wanted to go visit town.
Love this video!! As a youth from country, this Is the lane where used to spend summers in the 90s and early 2000's getting to know town. My aunt and cousins reside in this lane for over 30 years! Big up the entire downtown Kingston.
Thanks for making this video haven't seen Love Lane in over 50 years so much has changed since i played in the streets when i was 8 years old, there my uncle had a shop on the corner and a house in near to the end of the street but i don't recognized anything except there was a wall at the end of Love Lane.
God he knows when dem deh place deh a guh fix up. And let’s say the downtown Kingston transformation does reach all the way up there, where the hell are they going to put those people?
Marcia Taylor ::: To do any thing to areas like those. Government has to move the people out. Bulldoze the area. And rebuild. But they keep making the same mistakes. Constructing an area that only their party members can get back in. If you remember. When government builds. People believe it’s the party in power that area or construction belongs to. They have to change that
I must give you loyal. Of Credits for the love Lane drive through. I remember the hotel almost across from Ward Theatre as you made the turn. And all that comes after. The new young people behave same way like them young ones did in the 1960’s . Don’t want to move out the road. Or step off the side walk to walk in the street. Same attitudes
Does anyone know the name of the infant /prep school that used to exist at the corner of North Street and Love lane? (School premises shown on the left, at the corner @ 4:06 of this video). Thank you.
please point out music studios and other shops owned by reggae stars if you pass them ! i once went into a shop/record store owned by Gregory Isaacs that was about 1994 . . .
InJamaica . On your drive ( Studley Park Road- Jones Town. At the point where you did your U Turn. About 30 feet from your front end. There was a shooting there this morning. Around 10: o’clock. One 6 year old shot in the foot. 2 dead and several more wounded. All under 18, years of age. Just kids who love to play Video Games. But it’s the new thing about Jamaica now. Revenge killing .Today. Saturday
Dont be fool by those areas, they are all volatile areas. Dont go there. I worked in west Kingston 8 years and I have nothing good to say. They dont value life.
Use to during WARD THEATER DAYS with RANNY WILLIAMS MISS LOU BIM AND BAM and lots of good plays and SHOWS..either go into Love lane or in the PARK..😂😂😂GOOD OLD THYME JAMAICA

I have introduced several friends to these. But their complaints are. Not enough information. Missing landmarks. But the loved them otherwise.
I will try to put more information in these journeys

InJamaica thank you. That used to be my father’s block - between beeston and parade. Haven’t been there since 2009.
InJamaica . Notice how people respond to your exploitation of Kingston and some part of Saint Andrews. People just want memories.
@@InJamaica Also add St. George's Lane and Bond St seeing that you're so brave. Please be safe, all the best.
So are Fletchers Land and Love lane separate communities?
Love Lane runs up through Fletchers Land. Love Lane is a street and Fletchers Land is a community
@@Its_I_Ziggyman okay thank you
