Y’all the section where I talked about tele strips somehow got deleted 😩 but basically know the rhythms that mean your patient might be in trouble -Asystole, V-fib, A-fib, SVT etc. Typically most hospitals have someone monitoring the unit but it’s still good to keep an eye on your own.
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe thanks for responding! I need to do a 1-2 mins video/voice interview with a cardiac nurse on current trends to present to my class. What’s the best way to connect with you re same?
Ive been a nurse for >15 years and i will be starting my 1st hospital job (i know.. i know..) since i became a nurse in tele 1. Any advise? Im scared and anxious that im gonna look stupid, i still cant read the ekg rythms and i feel like i wont be able to keep up
@@hellonviss i appreciate the support. Difficult to be the only male nurse so far lol but im on my 3rd week of orientation which is kinda long in my opinion, but im using that to learn the ropes/protocols etc etc. ill be signing up for ecg class soon because i really want to re-learn the pathophysiology/physiology that i learned from school. How about you? Hows the hospital life treating you?
@@SincerelyShannonSubcribe thanks, shannon. Still in my orientation and last night after my shift, just laid in bed and felt useless. I Hate that feeling so much like im not good enough to be a nurse :(,
Now you know you’re not useless lol stop beating yourself up. Enjoy being on orientation and learning bc once you are by yourself the crutch is gone. You having experience is half the battle. You got this 💪🏾

Hi, just came across your channel. Are you willing to speak with a nursing student about current trends in cardiac nursing for an assignment?
Sure

I appreciate your video. More power to you and your channel.
Thanks💕
Great video. I'm a new nurse and i got fuzzed at asking a lot of questions. Crabby and grouchy seasoned nurses I never thought are that way. 😢
Glad it was helpful!

hi you're not alone I'm in the same situation. Just study
You'll be fine. You already know how to be a nurse, you just need to learn the hospital culture.

Then as a cardio thoracic nurse can I work in the operating room as an RNFA
I'm not sure
Is there a different between cardiac nurses and cardio thoracic nurses
Yep. I think the cardio thoracic nurses might work in the cath lab. I’m not sure.
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
so I’m be on a med surg / telemetry immediate care step down unit. is this the same as being a cardiac nurse? if not can you tell me what it is?
Depends on what type of patients you’ll be getting. I think of cardiac nurses dealing with all the drips, fresh p/o CABG’s, stents, TAVR’s etc
As a cardiac nurse how important is it to know EKG
Yep
Thank you😊
