Should've mentioned the old trick of buying blue armor, upgrading to level 8 and dismantle for a net +3 cores.
Cores are the most important besides glimmer and if you haven't played for 3+ years you probably won't have 1,000 or more
It's really the only effective way to spend shards, but takes time. Otherwise your spending 30 shards for just one core which is insane.

Sparrows and ships will no longer reward anything when dismantled. It says it in the TWID.

Bro making a PSA but misleading
You need to update this immediately. They're deprecating sparrows and ships. Making them free to pull from collectons iand when you dismantle you get nothing. Maybe that's next season however mention or clarify so people know
Ok so here is how u spend your shards before next season:
1 ascendant alloy every week
5 enhancement cores every day (daily limit)
(save 16k shards so you can afford those alloys and cores for the next 74 days)
If you have like ridiculous amounts of shards then also go for the weekly prisms, if you are like me and only have about 10k shards ignore them.
With the rest you:
Get banners until you are satisfied
Then go to the moon and buy as many phantasmal fragments you can, you can trade those for glimmer.

Plot twist: Bungie changed their mind on removing legendary shards after seeing everybody buy the raid banners
Spend them on weapon focussing, raid banners and xur
They need to remove the ascendant alloy cap so we can stock pile them
They will, right after season 23 launches and nobody has any shards 😂

Me who do not do raids:
Another note from the twab; there will NOT be any compensation for anyone's stock of shards. Whether you have 10 or 10,000, when they get snapped, that's it

You can only buy 5 cores a week for shards unfortunately
I would suggest buying and storing weapons if you can since we will be getting a 25% chance of enhancement cores upon dismantle. Good way to stock up up if you need them. (like me lol).
ive also heard that sometimes gunsmith weapons will dismantle into enhancement cores so that may be worth lookin at

Buying the sparrows is pointless because you can spend 10 shards on phantasmal fragments on the moon which will translate into 10k glimmer later on

I have 5 non exotic sparrow and i can't get legendary shards for them anymore :(

Can't you still spend them on armour and dismantle them for a chance to get enhancement cores
I tried this buying weapons from the gun smith and armor and weapons from collections and got zero cores which I was surprised about.

@@recklesscanadian About 30 each, no luck. I swear this used to work. If this is working for anyone else I would love to hear. I have over 500,000 shards and nothing to use them on.

Next season theyll still be there but the changes will alr be applied.

They took out legendary shards for enhancement core option.

Season 23 shards would not be a requirement to buy some shit from vendors
