Okay, maybe I’m just crazy, but the Blackface, Tweed, and low gain Plexi (at about 11:56) all sound like what I think of as great low gain Plexi tones.
Described the original as a masterpiece of audio engineering but way over complicated and thus too expensive too. They've rectified all that (ok not cheap) but this is a potential classic now. Sounds incredible!
Great demo, guys! Every guitarist in the UK should pay Peach a visit and try out some of the fantastic gear on offer - including Origin Effects pedals ;)
I appreciate demoing the pedal with the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, as not everyone has a JCM800 or Mesa Boogie 100w Dual Rectifier. It's very helpful to hear how us "other half" might experience drive pedals!
Your demo of this Revival Drive Compact pedal was great...many cool full-bodied tones. Your ability to tastefully ‘noodle’ for 10+ minutes without ever repeating yourself, and never (to my ear?) just copying famous licks... very musical, and a very good tour through the pedal’s capabilities with various pickup combinations. Good job!
I have the Wampler Pantheon, I found it to be very similar to this. Not a bad sound, but losing the natural tone. I've much preferred my Tone King amp pushed with a variety of Boost pedals.
Okay maybe I’m crazy, but the Blackface (6:05), Tweed (8:32), and low gain Plexi (at 11:56) tones, all sound to my ears like variations of great low gain Plexi tones.
Love the lower gain sounds from this pedal. Does a great job of cloning the overdriven tone of it’s respective amps. Nice demo. It would be hard to pick just one sound, if you were at a gig? Dig the idea of custom tailoring “a” unique tone?
I wonder where he got all the sample settings? I have one. It came with a 'sample settings' card which has very different recommendations to this. E.g. for Tweed tones it says to max the highs pot, here it says put it noon; here it says for Blackface to have the lows about 2 o'clock, on my card it says noon. The "cranked Plexi" is very different - on my card it says Presence cranked (here noon), Lows at 25% (here 75%) and Highs at 50% (here 0%!). @origineffects please advise!!
This is by far the best pedal I’ve heard...damn technology is gettin it...a must have...I’m an older guy seen had em all....this gets those tones...in 1 box...ahhhhh.....pricey enough but...come on look at all those available....settings🎸👌🏻
This playing is just astonishing - the feel, the technique, the licks! (and that Suhr is killer). Awesome talent and a great company - I just bought an JP15 from them today. Can’t wait. But dayum - this has got me all wound up about an RD too. Aaargghhh..,..who’ll think of the bank!?
Excellent demo. Used an amp everybody knows, giving us a very good idea of what the pedal would sound like with our equipment.. No Axe FX, no IR'S or graphic eq's it DAW.
Great demo..how would this sound into the clean section of my EVH EL34 50W? Still able to get these classic amp sounds? The green/clean channel is very Fenderish...
I've never heard a Blackface Fender amp sound anything like the Revival Drive emulations; even on 10 they don't have near that gain. I don't know what amp they were listening to. Its Vox and particularly Plexi settings are amazing though, well worth the price of admission. Great demo
@nimrodian I didn't say no gain. I own a Blackface Deluxe, I know exactly what it sounds like on 10, it gets very overdriven from 6 on up. But it doesn't have near as much gain as on this pedal's suggested Blackface settings.
Standards better. Sold it to get the compact. Nope didn’t like it. It was completely different. Sold it to get the large back and then the hot rod came out. Just didn’t think the compact sounded the same and the larger one is not hard to use. It’s just too much money. Now have the hot rod. Still think it’s too expensive.
Every innovation to be successful needs to be driven by demand to create and maintain a market niche at various price points. While I think your suggestion makes sense (and Vox is doing some similar stuff in analog amp modeling), I think most people still see that as a beginner's/practice amp feature in a sub-$200 price point. But an amp featuring this tech would cost much more (adding tone shaping, power amp, speaker and cab) and so would need to be marketed at a completely different Enthusiast / professional demographic. Also, pedal form is more modular and flexible :)
Maybe the point is also to cater to lots of people who already have one or more amps that they like but need something tweakable that sounds good with any of them for even more variety of tones. If you just went for one solid state you might miss your tube amps. Or if you show up at a gig and don’t know which amp you’re gonna have to play. Its a relatively cheap way to add more tones
Kind a interested on the direct playing with this pedal... do u think if the flick switch set in the pamp is it stll need a di box or a cab sim for playing direct?.
I have this pedal. It’s not just another overdrive It transforms every shitty tube amp to gold. No joke. It reacts like a real amp and has an incredible range of dynamic. It also improves the dynamic of the amp it’s going into. Awesome little thing, i love it!
Hi thanks great video ;-) Can I plug this into my UAD apollo and use the amp sims and turn off preamp mode or into UAD amp sim clean channel? Any experience on this? Cheers
Scott Evil : I was thinking I like animals. Maybe I'd be a vet. Dr. Evil : An evil vet? Scott Evil : No! Maybe like work in a petting zoo. Dr. Evil : An evil petting zoo? Scott Evil : You always do that!
great playing as usual. Not convinced by the pedal. Very solid statey, fizzy, harsh top end, fake sounding distortion characteristics. whats wrong with a decent valve amp pushed into overdrive with a decent overdrive pedal ? give this overpriced ,over engineered toy a miss
I have the Wampler Pantheon, I found it to be very similar to this. Not a bad sound, but losing the natural tone. I've much preferred my Tone King amp pushed with a variety of Boost pedals.
To save time for people:
Dry 5:53
Blackface 6:04
Blackface+TS 7:37
Tweed 8:32
AC30 10:36
Plexi 11:41
Plexi+TS 12:37
Plexi w/ presence 13:20
'Unique blended sound' 14:31
'Unique blended sound'+TS 15:22
Okay, maybe I’m just crazy, but the Blackface, Tweed, and low gain Plexi (at about 11:56) all sound like what I think of as great low gain Plexi tones.
best pedal ever, it turned a modest hot rod deluxe into a great amp, not an easy task.
Described the original as a masterpiece of audio engineering but way over complicated and thus too expensive too. They've rectified all that (ok not cheap) but this is a potential classic now. Sounds incredible!
What a great pedal. Could listen to Jack play all day.
Great demo, guys! Every guitarist in the UK should pay Peach a visit and try out some of the fantastic gear on offer - including Origin Effects pedals ;)
What's it like in front of an Overdrive amp to use as a solo tone and gain lift ??
This dude is the best part of this channel. Greet player and very professional.

Yo dawg! We got you a blackface fender pedal for your blackface fender amp!
I have the Wampler Pantheon, I found it to be very similar to this. Not a bad sound, but losing the natural tone. I've much preferred my Tone King amp pushed with a variety of Boost pedals.

Nailed it, Jack! Top notch.

Wow.. only up to blackface and it sounds amazing
You just sold a lot of pedals Jack. Bravo!
Thank you and well done. This was the demo I really wanted to hear on the RD.
I want this pedal cause have a suhr classic s like you sir
8:32 I think this is really impressive!

Really nice playing!
Thanks Jack, such amazing touch and feel. Great demo.
Are you using the TS before the RD pushing the pedal or after in the signal chain?
Great demo..how would this sound into the clean section of my EVH EL34 50W? Still able to get these classic amp sounds? The green/clean channel is very Fenderish...
I've never heard a hot rod deluxe sound so good
I could watch this all day, everyday!! Sublime playing sir!
Superb demonstration of pedal flavors coupled with great playing, thank you : )
Sweet soulful playing! Got me one these! Great demo of course.
What kind of Suhr strat is Jack playing? Really like the sound of these pickups!
What a musician ... everything played sound so beautifull

Exactly, and no Hiwatt ? Try getting that kinda gain on one of DR 100 amp/ 4 x12 set ups......not gonna happen....

Man. I'm going to have to give my Revival Drive another look after watching this.
because it might not suck the second time around ?
jupiter moongauge option paralysis perhaps
jupiter moongauge the original was better imo. I had it and I had this. I had no problem figuring out the original. This one I didn’t get it.
Must try one ASAP!
Freaking amazing! Seriously, amazing!
Super playing
I have this pedal. Great sounds 😃
I absolutely love my origin compressor, would love to try this.
I also love my cali76. Unbelievable compressor and this revival compact sounds great
such a good play
Which pickups are on this suhr?
If Origin effects can make an amp sounding pedal, what's stopping people from making a solid state amp with similar circuitry?

Tweed ❤

Six minutes of drone before a sound.
Have you talked to Kelso or any of the gang lately enjoy the show thanks
Has anyone tried this in front of an already overdrive tone to use it as a solo lift ?????
It’s a beauty. Wish it was around 200 in cost. Over all it’s just an overdrive pedal
I have this pedal. It’s not just another overdrive It transforms every shitty tube amp to gold. No joke. It reacts like a real amp and has an incredible range of dynamic. It also improves the dynamic of the amp it’s going into. Awesome little thing, i love it!
How does this com-are to the Analogman?
Wish I could afford it
Wish I could afford it
Awesome Demo .... as always ..... but is the ts in front or after the RDC ?
The TS was in front. 👍
I see ..... I thought it was after the RDC cuz of the graphic
Hi thanks great video ;-) Can I plug this into my UAD apollo and use the amp sims and turn off preamp mode or into UAD amp sim clean channel? Any experience on this? Cheers
Yeah I’d love to know how this acts as a preamp before a cab sim as well
Scott Evil : I was thinking I like animals. Maybe I'd be a vet.
Dr. Evil : An evil vet?
Scott Evil : No! Maybe like work in a petting zoo.
Dr. Evil : An evil petting zoo?
Scott Evil : You always do that!
You should definitely use the whammy more.
When you start combining pedals I quit watching....why? Because I want to know what the pedal itself sounds like
Another stellar demo! Could I ask what model Suhr jack is playing?
great playing as usual. Not convinced by the pedal. Very solid statey, fizzy, harsh top end, fake sounding distortion characteristics. whats wrong with a decent valve amp pushed into overdrive with a decent overdrive pedal ? give this overpriced ,over engineered toy a miss

I cannot get over how incredible this pedal sounds. Great playing too!
The only thing better than the pedal in this demo is the playing.
