Another fantastic video! I couldn’t believe how many Panther chameleons we saw on that last leg of our trip! I really appreciate Bills commentary on micro climates. Very important information to consider in how we offer our animals heating/lighting and appropriately sized enclosures that accommodate the possibility to have temperature gradients.
My parents had a friend in south Florida who turned his screened in porch into a chameleon paradise. He had a few types. His porched was planted with trees and shrubs, had a water fall and lagoon, misting tubes, lots of climbing branches. He had other lizards and snakes out there too. This was in the early 2000s You can find all those chameleons and tegus and huge iguanas in the wild down there!
That sounds like my brother in So Fla. In addition to raising large hook-bills he has a Bell’s Phase Lace Monitor, several tortoise/turtle species, a pond-full of African Cichlids and (at last count) 4 fishtanks - 2 saltwater reef tanks, 1 invertebrate and one freshwater. He knows where you can catch Veiled and Panther Chameleons at night. He also had an Argentinian B&W Tegu he had to re-home because of the FWC (who are on my any everyone else’s sh!t list right now. Grrrr)
Being watched by a bunch of strange primates while digging a nest must have been momma chameleons weirdest day ever 😂 all the footage is amazing though 😊
yeah you guys are dead on with the large enclosures and micro multiple climates. With all reptiles. I used to worry that when you did these videos, ppl assumed that your temp readings were be all end all, but I know you know days and and climate changes through the hours days and weeks, so there is a lot to it. Glad you are getting that across to ppl.
My nine month old baby keeps waving at you thinking that you can see her lol she likes this channel also
