Late to the show but I have to say that as always your vids reveal the true character of the synth, effect, or whatever you post in a way that I find most informative and useful. I think it’s your sequences that accomplish this. These were spot on - each sequence fit the patch perfectly and in a familiar and not unexpected way. The cat was on the fence, but not anymore
Thank you! What I've always tried to show is any piece of gear in real use as I found channels that go from awesome sound to awesome sound to not get the experience across and to me, that's where the character of any piece of gear predominately lies. I can understand it not connecting with people though.
The LFO Freq slider says 0.03Hz at the bottom, but in this video it appears closer to 0.2Hz ... was it not all the way down? Or is the printed value incorrect? 0.03Hz would be close to one cycle every 30 seconds, rather than the ~5 second cycle shown here.
It's incorrect as that's with the LFO all the way down. Never used an original so can't say if that was the same, but it's not exactly beyond Behringer to go with what was printed on the original with little regard as to whether it matches.
I love your taste in synths, and i must say im shocked to see a Behringer on here. What is ur impression of the synth in relation to the clones? Cheers!
I've had a number of Behringers on here. Basically they are decent products and my favourite so far has been the Pro-1, was a little let down by their SH101 & MS20 clones as I'm so used to the originals though. The Cat is a quirky thing, but I do enjoy the two sub-oscs and the cross modulation of the oscillators. Just wish they'd behave like a professional company, until they turn that around it's very difficult to comfortably recommend any of their products unfortunately. Which is a genuine shame.
@@3rdStoreyChemist my thoughts exactly. Some really strange vibes from them. They dont care they are selling synths, but brand name is everything in this industry. So i think sooner or later the jig will be up and they cant get away with such predatory and obscene practices
@@holygeneration7 The products themselves are a real jump in quality compared to what they put out in the past, the issue is their conduct regarding journalism, social media, forums etc. It undermines the products themselves.
Whoever designed the original is a freakin mad genius
Absolutely! A lot of these old synths really were designed by mad genius. Sadly something we'll never get back.

+1 for dry demo! It's the only proper way to demonstrate actual sound of a synthesizer. No effects that is ;-)
Such a thick sound. Nice.
Thanks! This is a great exploration of this thing.
It sounds really good.👍
At around 10:00 this thing starts to purr! This will the first Behringer vintage recreation synth I pick up.
Behringer are on a roll nice sounding filter :-)

A true spirit anolog! Great jam!

This thing gives me some Commodore 64 SID vibes. ^^

@@holygeneration7 Check their Wikipedia page for starters. I'd rather keep all that away from here though If I can help it though.

Is this thing just a toy or a decent synth?
It's a synthesiser.
