Looks like it did a lovely job! They look so much better now than what I have seen so far. Cast iron leaches oil and grease into its pores. It's very porous. Rust will actually be deep into the pores, not just on the surface.. and yes kids, rust gets everywhere, water jackets, etc. I also recommend a good wire brush even one of those stiff braided brushes to get all the loose stuff off the block before it goes in.
Good video, but could you please not move the camera so much. Everytime I watch one of your videos I feel motion sickness. Thank you for your videos keep up the good work.👍👍👍
Thank you for the video. THIS MAN IS NOT KIDDING ! You Should listen !.. He didn't go through all that for nothing. I couldn't lift half of the parts that he did. Evapo - Rust is amazing. I've only used it for small parts mostly. But it works on Heavy Duty Stuff as well. It ain't no joke! The beauty of it is that if you have the time you can just leave it in the solution and if you have to clean something up. just buff it up and put it back in for a while. Evapo-Rust is non toxic, bio-degradable, safe on skin and eyes, and , REUSABLE. Don't throw it away..,Filter it. Check it out ! Thank You.
thank you . the Evapo rust solution works great i have saved 5 or 6 blocks that would have otherwise gone for scrap. the machine shop i use has even had me clean a couple for them and couldn't believe how clean it was. well worth the money.
Awesome video, if I have a crank that is freshly machined but developed some minor surface rust can I soak it in evaporust without having to worry about taking it back to the machine shop for measuring?
Neat video. Better than an acid or electrolysis. I came up with a system to use only 5 gallons of Evaporust to submerge a sbc. Check out my video if you have time.
Resultados da pesquisa Resultado da tradução Português Inglês good morning friend. have you ever soldered a small block 350. in the cylinder region ..? you have a block from the year 1973 it cracked on the second cylinder cracked the cylinder and then the shirt .. I believe that the cylinder wall is already weak because the owners do not use additives. would you advise making a weld in that region?
you mean its the cylinder wall that has the crack? if that is what is going on depending on the crack i would have it sleeved and repaired that way.if the crack made it all the way to bottom of cylinder it may be done for.
Those came out good and all that rust would eventually come off and be in your oil. You brought these back from the dead.
yes they have turned out great so far.

Yes, absolutely it will clean with out removing metal
Any concern with rust within oil passages .
once i soak it the passages are clean and water jackets are cleaned out to
That's some good stuff
working on the 400 block now and have one more to go
400 with only 2 freeze out plugs?? What year is it?
i will check it when i pull it out
Yep, some 400's only had 2 plugs.
does the evapo rust take paint and grease off
think it works best on cleaned stuff as in grease free. it wont remove paint unless there rust under the paint it removes.
Use zip strip with a paintbrush and a pressure washer to take off paint. Then use the evaporust.
Good work
thank you
Where are you located. Would love to have a feller like yourself do some work for me.

Did I add water or straight vapor rust
Bock came out great.
i have no fear of building this block now its this clean
@@tlcbear2
RIGHT! 👍👍what was total soak time?
since fluid is cold the block was in there 2-3 hours i lost track of time crank was 2 hours if it was warmer could cut those times in half
How much does a barrel of evapo-rust cost?
i got it threw zoro tools they had the best price. best to look it up and see what the price is for your area.
How long will a drum last ?
