I have fully applied this teaching to myself 5 months ago when this video came out and now my boss has offered me the service manager position for 30+ dollars an hour. Great stuff Bryan....Keep up the good work
If you don’t like your job your going to have a long day. I’m 59 been in the HVAC trade 35 yrs. and still look forward to the days challenges. Try to keep a positive attitude and be thankful for what you have.
I deal with ppl who are always negative in the morning. I found focusing on my self and my craft has made me a better tech. I feel I’ve have grown faster and developed faster then those who are negative
I just graduated school not too long ago and now I’m working and enjoying it. I come to this channel to learn but this video taught me about life. Not HVAC. This was as deep as it gets. Coming from where I come from and been through what I been through this hit deep. The world needs to hear this!! God Bless you man
Very inspiring. We often do not realize how far soft skills can take us. Also, I feel like it's becoming a lost art: politeness, discipline, self-restraint are becoming rare. That makes it more valuable too! Especially for young techs who are not super knowledgeable yet but want to make a name for themselves from the start.
Society is over stimulated for sure. Work is viewed as a bad thing and you’re poor or something, a lot of younger people have the wrong mindset for life these days
Brian absolutely FANTASTIC video and a great subject to touch on. I’m still new to this trade and these skills are just as important as knowing about electricity and the refrigeration system. I for one will be thinking about how I should be approaching a conversation prior to every conversation now
Great post, great lecture. Having gone through ALL the things you discussed, from an apprentice to now being retired, this discussion is priceless to anyone about to persure a career . I forward this post to my daughter who is persuing a job and
Great content Bryan. Because of this video we now have a dedicated training room where we are going to watch all of you training videos and conversation files and talks with your employees. Yuma Arizona HVAC techs needs to hear this content. Great stuff man keep them coming.👍
This man knows what he's talking about and I've used alot of what he has said in all his videos in my own career. You dont undertand if you're not a growing and successful technician...💯
We were just talking about these same topics at work last week. Very important issues that most techs would rather ignore and pretend don’t exist. Thanks
Again Bryan thanks , you talk in a very simplex way about facts of discipline , an in career challenges an the personal life a techs faces in there shaping of there career. At 60 I love being a owner / Tech. another great video to show my Techs . THANKS

I don't know if I'll get these words somewhere else. I want to appreciate you because you do a lot of research and insight before your every words and videos. Thank you a lot. ....A LOT.

Great video and explaining to the young cats. This something I talk to young techs and old one too. I have a addiction its called work i love the overtime, it all goes in my investments.
Everyone does personal jobs for friends or family. Installs, service , maintenance and second opinions. If they don’t want to use my company . Going to refer them to my friend or myself.
Did you just tell them they can’t do side work? What state are you guys in? Here in California you can’t tell your employees they can’t do their trade outside of work.
Byran in a rut of making babies, 😜 great content all the same, neglected hvac, apologies been educating my self on the world finance. we should all spend time to do.. were being fleeced.
Smartphones are a big problem with younger workers. They are on them to much during work hours. They want to stay connected to friends like they have done since they got the phone. But the employer isn’t paying you to be on the phone. They need to leave them in the truck during the day and tell friends and family that you will talk to them after work hours. The problem is no one has ever made them put down the phone and schools let them have them in class.
My phone is a tool used to take pictures, check system pressures, look up information, get pricing info, and talk to my boss. I've also had to use it to call 911 on a few occasions. My phone isn't staying in my truck.
John Doe I should have wrote this better. This is more about helpers on jobs. I have two phones my personal one and the one the company provides. I leave the personal one in the truck. My company has had customers send pictures of techs sitting at the outdoor unit playing on the phone. Also helpers sitting on the patio texting. I see helpers and techs texting their friends and girlfriends while trying to work on a unit. this all being done on personal phones. Had one tech that was always going outside to smoke and call someone.
@@bryangray1084 Fair enough. I don't disagree. I'm younger (26) so I took it a tad personal. But yeah, there are a lot of distracted folk in this field and maybe if they had less going on in their phones they might get bored and I don't know, work...
My company issues iphones and iPads. Personal phones are not allowed on a job site. They control what apps are available on them and what you Are allowed to do with them. They use Apple business manager program to do it.
Joe Shearer companies could also be dishonest more then a side worker because of there overhead and like my boss said he don’t mind me doing a side work because not everyone is there customer plus no side work can bring the value of a good company . That’s just my opinion
You answered your own question....The mask is worn because you don't know if any one in the room have Covid, so if someone does have Covid they protect you and if you do, you protect them... 50% of People with Covid have no symptoms and don't even know they got it... so if everybody wear a mask everybody wins..

Jeez.. 2 minutes into the video and Bryan already spoke the truth and worded it in a way that makes since to me. Amazing
My first employer made it clear that home problems Stayed At Home..Made a huge difference in my life. This happened in 1964.
Thank you for sharing this and all your classroom videos

Great information we all need people to challenge our abilities so we grow stronger and learn.
A great wake up call. If you have the wisdom to take it to heart.

Wow this helped me so much! I am retiring from my current employer I have worked for 43 years and I am looking forward to working in HVAC.
I'll have to watch it again but some great advice from what seems to be a Christian perspective. Thanks for the clip.
Very well spoken ! So appreciate the knowledge , the techs in the class look very interested and well taught , professional . Great job kalos !

Great video! Topic that isn’t talked about enough in this trade.
Was very encouraged to “decide, and do it.” Enjoyed this video.
This topic is too heavy. They need to lighten up.Everybody has problems. You will never fix that.
Very well spoken and presented
Nice , well spoken . The ending was great 👍! Thanks

I like you! You have much effect on my life than most of my college teachers.
God bless you. Great talk.

These ones are Monday morning to start the week

Did you just tell them they can’t do side work?

Due to recent events beyond our control, the class on Air Filter MERV ratings has been postponed indefinitely.
What is that mask for?
No side work 🤨 allow . I never understood why a company wouldn’t allow there techs to make extra money on the side after work or their days off?
John Simpson it devalues the trade and the buisness and also breeds dishonest
Joe Shearer companies could also be dishonest more then a side worker because of there overhead and like my boss said he don’t mind me doing a side work because not everyone is there customer plus no side work can bring the value of a good company . That’s just my opinion

Does any have convid in that room ? why the mask

Seems to be more of a philosophical discussion about mind set than a soft skills discussion. Thank you for the video.
