Can you do a Disney Prince Week like you done a Disney Princess Week in December of 2017, please? Because I would like of you doing videos about Snow White's Prince's full story, Prince Charming's full story, Prince Phillip's full story, Prince Eric's story , the Beast's full story, Aladdin's full story and John Smith's full story. And I want to you compare their Disney background with their original stories (in John Smith's case, his real-life story).
I say Chernabog being Maleficent's master would make sense but I read in the book "Mistress of All Evil" that Maleficent had birds (crows) bring all all sorts of magic spellbooks from all over the place and thats how she became so powerful. Some magic she even learned to master herself like teleportation
Chernabog is ancient deity from Slavic mythology, a Black God of sorts. Additionally, any villain can call their self an "evil god" or an "embodiment of evil." Chernabog is an actual evil god from a mythical pantheon that predates Disney.
If Maleficent had a master, it would be CHERNABOG. Nobody else has the power Chernabog has. Not even Hades and Hades is a god of the underworld!! Heck, even Hades could have powers that came from Chernabog! maybe even OTHER villains like Jafar, Ursula, Evil Queen & Dr. Faciler could have powers that came from Chernabog!
@@khodexus4963 in this video there is evidence that supports this theory. Substitute the word master with teacher. You don't need hardcore evidence to understand that we are all taught by another. One may posses a natural gift, but even so, they are mentored and trained by another to hon their skills. He is stating that there is a force greater than herself from which her power derives. Which is not a far-fetched concept. Bruce Lee was a master whom at one point, was trained by a master.
@@legendarythepoet8483 The evidence presented here is refuted by the original film/story, and is constructed entirely from information not canon to the original film.
@@khodexus4963 Keep in mind what's presented here are theories of his own speculation and analysis. He never claimed it was true. But that aside, think about it, she uses dark magic. Nobody utilizes dark magic without a bit of help. Nobody's all powerful on their own. Ex. Dr F. (The Princess and the frog) He was powerful with dark magic but he also had help from his "friends" on the other side.
Well, they should be some sort of a couple who are going to join forces to wreak unspeakable evil upon the world. Kinda like Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa, right?
Chernabog is my favorite Disney villain, and if he’s not the best he’s definitely the most evil, he summons demons and lets them dance around on his hands... FOR FUN!!! Also he was pretty cool in the Kingdom Keepers book series
I think this theory is superb. Maleficent and The Evil Queen both seem to be leaning on an external power of evil/hell. Chernobog/the devil is compromised by not physically being able to take form irl whereas Maleficent is compromised by not being the source of all her power.
There is no one is the entirety of Disney (besides one) that could defeat chernobog not mickey not sora not the evil queen not maleficent not even vor the first villain could defeat him, the only being who could and did was literally god him self a being so beyond everyone else the man didn't even show up in physical form but as light to make his unruly son go back to being a mountain no matter how you cut it chernobog is powerful and I do like the idea of him being a master to alot of Disney villains but I also enjoy the idea of that even he has to obey a being greater then him

I think Chernabog being Maleifcent's master makes sense because I always wondered what Maleifcent's backstory was. I believe Chernabog influencing her would be a perfect origin for Maleficent.
Maleficent!!! I never thought of her as being a follower to anyone but this definitely opened my eyes to the concept. Can we talk about the horned king from the black cauldron next?
Whenever I hear that iconic Maleficent line I always think she’s going to say “All the powers of my imagination!” Because I saw Fantasmic before I saw the movie
Maleficent is the only Disney villain who actually scares me. To this day, when I see her in Sleeping Beauty, I freaking pee my pants. You can be scared of villains like Jafar, but Maleficent is just that angry grandma no one messes with except this time she has freaking magic.
When I watched this video, I was shocked that maleficent had a master. When I watched sleeping beauty, I always thought that maleficent was just a fairy who been transformed to a dark fairy in my childhood. Now I finally have a true answer when I watched this video. Thank you so much👍.
Fairy? Where do she look like fairy? I rather thought she's a human... but likele not regular mortal one, as she gained powers and long live cause to some pact with the devil - or something like this. (Polish dub (which h is how I watched this movie back then) seems to imply it even more than the original, as she call upon hell's power already when creating thorn forest (literally "Hell's power I summon you!"), and kinda refers to satan before her transformation into Dragon (she's telling that she'll use "satanic powers")) I really don't get how anyone could come to a conclusion she's a fairy... well except maybe for that Maleficient movie, as I hearshe is somewhat portrayed there as a fairy, and not as actually evil but I think the very idea of that film was stupid. And such deconstruction is just lame and an insult to Disney legacy. Not I actually think that Maleficient master could have been Vor (who... actually can be consider a demonic/satanic/diabolical(or whatever You wanna call it) being. For sure Maleficient power DO come from Vor.)
I figured from the title that Maleficent would be connected to the Evil Queen video, which I totally support. I love the idea of them getting their abilities/evil from the same source.
I like how you've connected things but I see absolutely no reason to even suspect let alone assume that Maleficent even has a master. Your reasons for why Maleficent can't be the ruler of hell appear to be that she's not all-powerful or all-knowing, but no mythological evil ruler of Hell is, certainly not Hades or the Devil of the bible, so why would Maleficent need to be? She invokes All The Powers Of Hell, not some of them, not as much as her mortal body can channel, All of them. She is The Mistress Of All Evil Again, not mistress of just the evil that Chernabog doesn't have jurisdiction over, All evil. Chernabog on the other hand has 0 claims to how much evil in the world belongs to him, we only assume based on preconceived notions of Satan and Hades and such. Chernabog tells Maleficent in Mickey's House of Villains "love your work", as a fanboy. If he had said "well done" or "good job" or something like that then that might sound like a master to his apprentice. But I invite you to imagine Palpatine telling Vader "love your work". Now imagine Spiderman telling Captain America "love your work". Which one fits better? As far as the imagery is concerned, Maleficent does primarily use fire yes but Merriweather and Fauna exposit that Maleficent also sends frosts to destroy Flora's nicest flowers. While designing Maleficent the artist Marc Davis decided "the horns of the devil couldn't hurt" and her raven is named Diablo as fun reference to the idea that she's so evil even the Devil himself is merely her pet (this joke was made before with Lady Tremaine's cat Lucifer), and she invokes all the powers of hell. She's clearly meant to be the devil herself, not serving him. It's just as easy to make the argument that Chernabog serves Maleficent, and all the reasoning we've collectively stated would still apply, moreso in fact I think.
"She doesn't know anything about love, kindness, and helping others." Yet....In Kingdom Hearts 2 she held off the heartless hoard so Sora and co could run off to defeat Xemnas. Even with her reasoning of "this castle will be MINE" that never made sense to me. Why would she help Sora when just in the previous game she corrupted his closest friend?
I mean she does no love but her Loe didn't last so she thinks if you love somebody that they will do bad things behind your back, Her daughter had to turn her in to a salamander because she was in loved with ben, she knew he was different and wanted to be the queen someday and be there with ben.
11:45 Okay Is it really a stretch to say that he shape shifted into a Pitbull? Well, I don’t think soo after all a certain Maria Dalmatian needed some help. I won’t go into detail but Chort was the result and she herself’s Delilah’s own Mom
Personally I like to think in terms of dnd. Particularly 3.5 edition. Maleficent is a 16th level Fairy warlock Where as the evil queen is a lowly level 5 wizard. While they do serve the same force of “Hell” the power differences are apparent.
I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great video!!! What other magic did any villains than the almighty Chernabog? He even said, "Love your work". Which is shocking to me when I was a kid. It's no coincidence that both Queen Grimhilde and Maleficent got their own magic. They both serve one master.
THIS IS SO SATISFYING !!!!! The whole video I was thinking of Fantasmic and The House of Mouse connection and i was so happy you included that at the end. With all the live action remakes happening it would be so cool if all the movies connected somehow. Anyways great video !
What about Hades oh wait that relationship went south and Mal happened. What if she was chernabogs daughter and the evil queen sold her soul to chernabog
Interesting theory but in my opinion Maleficent is not meant to serve the Devil because she IS the Devil of the Sleeping Beauty world. She claims to be the Mistress of ALL evil, not just some commander of an evil legion. She also controls all the powers of Hell and trasforms into a Dragon. Once again, ALL is the keyword of my argument. She doesn't seem to ask for help from the realm of evil, she simply commands the powers of Hell to aid her in battle as a Queen. Another important fact about her which escaped your notice, when Maleficent declares herself ruler of Hell she transforms into a Dragon. The Dragon, accrording to the Apocalypse is the Devil a.k.a. evil itself, not a servant of it. In my opinion it is clear that Maleficent represents a female version of Lucifer and she does not have a master to guide her! I think both Chernabog and Maleficent are meant to represent Evil itself in their worlds, they just belong in seperate movies.
Chernabog is my FAVORITE Disney Villain. And I always thought this was the case, even when I was a child. Chernabog needs his own movie or something... more representation. I think he has a lot of potential for some kind of Disney story arc that could tie multiple films and characters together. They should do more with him! He's too epic to just leave to a single scene in Fantasia, and a few small appearances... DO YOU HEAR ME DISNEY!
makes sense to me, Maleficient having a master anything is possible. one video i would like to see is could the evil queen and mother gothel be the same person? keep up the good work.
Could you please do are Meg’s parents from Hercules :) I enjoy these videos it makes me wonder more about these movies and why it happens. You are a great inspiration ❤️
I think Maleficent's master can be Hades, because he is the king of the Underworld, and Underworld can be the Hell. But, Maybe Chernabough can be Lúcifer, and that make a sense... i think. but maybe, if Hades be the king of hell, maybe all the evil witches from Disney uses he's force. But the good witches(and the fairies), the rare executions in this case, may perhaps take their supernatural powers from Regions Beyond. (the regions mentioned by Madame Leota.) Which may also represent the Fifth Dimension of '' Twilight Zone - The Tower Of Terror. '' That could be the dimension where the spirits dwell. That way there would be within that - Heaven - Hell / Underworld. - Limbo.
Man, Disney Stories just became darker than they already are with this theory. Vengeful women selling their souls to dark entities for power. Not gonna lie though, it does make a lot of sense.
Chernabog is benevolent though. He took the ghosts out of the village. Partied with them, was invigorated by energy that would otherwise be wasted, and even channeled excess energy into the earth.
Soooo basically, Maleficent was a fairy, and then she wanted to be an evil fairy, so she saw Churnabog and he gave her ALOT of power and Grimhilde ( Evil Queen ) Got less power bc she wasn’t a fairy. But like you said, Maleficent got more powerful bc she already had power bc she was a fairy but would of lost that if she gave herself to him. This is why I think Maleficent and Churnabog were just friends and he gave her power, and aces to the mountains. AND IN MICKEY’S HOUSE OF VILLAS, WHEN JAFAR SITS ON THE THRONE IT ZOOMS TO THE AUDIENCE AND U CAN QUICKLY SEE MALEFICENT AND THE EVIL QUEEEN IN THE FORM OF THE OLD HAG SITTING TOGETHER WITH CHURNABOG!!! also like u said there was spirits on the mountains, Maleficentcould be one of them!!! OMG
Plot twist: Her pet bird is her master (in disguise) and she's under the impression that she's ordering her bird around but in actuality her bird knows everything from the get-go and decides to pretend to follow her orders.
They both are KH canon and are fitting for each other in disney too as Apprentice and master. Master of all evil teach mistress of all evil and also evil Queen is mother gothel who also was Maleficent's Apprentice until Tangled
It would make since if he was her master. Like u said in the video "Where does the Evil Queens magic come from." She basically serves him. It all makes sense now. Chernabog is the most powerful Disney villain ever, it would make since for Chernabog to be the master of all the Disney villains. In the Night on Bald Mountain, we see him playing with the dead, killing the dead, and morph the dead, but what do u think Isaac?
I agree with this theory. Maleficent even calls herself the "Mistress of All Evil." The word "mistress," often means an equal or slight lesser to a master, and Chernobog is the Embodiment of All Evil in the Disneyverse. Thus she is the subordinate of The Dark God.
I think that rather Vor is embodiment of all evil in Disneyverse (first time seeing someone other using that term, but I'm glad I do now^^) I think it's Vor. Especially that she is canonically linked with not only Maleficent about also Evil Queen, Jafar, Ursula, even Facilier, Mother Gothel and Lady Tremine.
I think Chernabog... after all Hades was kicked out of Holimpus by Zeus so if that didn't happened Hades would have been kind of good. Chernabog is pure evil, he only wants to do evil for no really particular reason
Chernabog, Hades was forced to be the God of the underworld, dead and among other things, he may have done bad things as most gods have but I think he's not evil, just happens to have done bad things
Maleficent has a master??? I never thought of that. Excellent theory thought, Issac. Faires are born with magic, but not evil magic. Maleficent chose to be evil. The hidden question is why is she evil? Was she a victim of being an outcast? Bullied?
It's a fun theory, and I've seen people and books suggesting that Maleficent works for Chernabog for a while. Buuuuuut I don't really buy it or like it. Maleficent is the Mistress of All Evil, and, in my opinion, "All Evil" includes Chernabog. He's weak against holy church bells and the like, yet Maleficent had no such weakness and had to be slain with a fairy crafted blade empowered by Flora's magic and driven by the strength of Phillip's heart and True Love. If anything, the way I see it, Chernabog would be under HER in terms of power. Grimhilde pledging herself to a higher demonic power is more likely, in my opinion, but I tend to see the Disney villains as each cultivating their own breed of magic since their powers are so varied. I prefer the idea of dark sorcerers like Maleficent, Grimhilde, Jafar, and Ursula all being drawn to the forces of darkness, but crafting their own dark magic that adheres to their unique styles and elements (Maleficent being big on curses and fires and things that cause devastation, Grimhilde focusing on scrying and disguises and sneakier spy-like powers, Jafar sticking to hypnosis and telekinesis and things to grant him direct control over others, and then Ursula working with shapeshifting and form changes and powers that involve morphing and creating and changing things to suit her wills). It's just more fun to me when they're all independent power houses who sometimes collaborate and develop dark friendships rather than all of them being minions and servants of one Big Bad.
I don’t think Christianity was very powerful in whatever kingdom Aurora was from. There isn’t as much Christian symbolism or artifacts in the original film. So, I don’t think the use of Christian powers was used at that time in the film. Hence, I don’t believe Maleficent ever came in contact with Christian powers (priests, worshippers, radicals, etc) Chernabog is supposed to be the representation of the Disney Devil. His motivations are just to cause misery. He is powerful. Very powerful. The only force that can “draw him back” is the power of God. All I am saying is, Maleficent would have needed to come into contact with religous forces (in the actual Sleeping Beauty film) to prove this point
@@radcircles9865 Maleficent literally casts her curse at Aurora's *christening*, a Christian sacrament. There had to have been priests and clergymen and prayer going on there, and she waltzed in like she owned the place and was able to work a powerful curse at that event, and nobody was able to stop her. There are also crosses all over the place in Stefan's castle, and the film is set in 14th century Europe when Christianity was at its height. I think we can safely assume that religious forces were powerless against Maleficent given that they were never used against her. And that's operating under the assumption that Christianity and the Christian God are the ultimate powers in this hypothetical Disney universe. The fairies and the fae of mythology were extraordinarily powerful, and many of them were seen as gods in their own right. So there's not really any evidence that Christian cosmology is the trump card here in a world with the fae and Greek gods and goddesses. Chernabog is powerful and impressively evil, but just being the devil isn't really mean he's the ultimate evil unless you're assuming that Christian cosmology is the be all/end all.
GAvillain I am not assuming, I am believing. But you do make fair points. However, you forgot one major thing in your original comment. Maleficent was killed, Chernabog is still alive (just hidden away). But I think I was too harsh on you. You can think what you like to think. All what I am saying is, it makes more sense for Maleficent to get her powers from Chernabog than EQ. Other wise, what “forces of evil” are there in other Disney movie. Titans are dead, Hades is not that much better then Maleficent. Chernabog makes so much sense But also, I think a reason why both Maleficent and Chernabog were defeated was faith. Church Bell’s ringing wade away evil spirits. The Sword Of Truth vanquished darkness, due to Philip having faith in the fairies. The reason why Maleficent was killed by faith was that she was physically seen and known to exist (like Hitler, Stalin, Machiavelli). Chernabog hides like the devil, seen by no human ever, operating in secrecy, sends his own minions to do his work. That is why I believe she was killed, and Chernabog wasn’t Chernabog being the devil even means he is the most powerful darkness. If I was to imagine one of the most evilest beings, it would be demons. Fairies aren’t demons. Because he is a devil, he has no morals that can stop him from doing whatever. This makes him way more powerful. Why couldn’t Maleficent have done something worse to Aurora (feel immense pain/torture) and get away with it. She wasn’t that powerful to do that Along as Maleficent has that staff, she is somewhat powerful, but not the extent as Chernobog, who can summon spirits at will
@@radcircles9865 Well in Fantasmic, the Evil Queen calls upon "All the Forces of Evil" and she summons up the other Disney villains. The "Forces of Evil" Maleficent talks about are the same, I think, a.k.a. those who work for evil and villainous gains. So I see that as Maleficent basically saying, "You're a disgrace to villains everywhere." That just makes more sense to me than there being some greater power that she serves that she for some reason never references or actually works with. Yeah, Maleficent died in the end, but in Kingdom Hearts, after Prince Phillip throws the sword into her, she's shown to have survived and just taken a serious injury that she later got over. So I feel like the same thing was true in Sleeping Beauty too: defeated but not destroyed. And no one ever stabbed Chernabog with a fairy crafted sword, so it might have killed him too. We don't know. At the end of the day, comparing devils to fairies to gods to witches to genies is all just apples to oranges, which was kinda what I was trying to get at in my original post: all the Disney villains are extremely powerful in their own unique way, and I think it's more interesting having them all bring their unique powers and backgrounds to the table and all of them reigning as superior powerhouses in their own right rather than having them all serve a single master who gave them their powers. And I especially don't like Maleficent, a female villain who is über powerful and answers to no one and even is usually the leader of the villains when they team up, having "she actually works for a male villain" slapped onto her. She's a badass woman who doesn't need a man to tell her what to do. And, also, if we wanna be really inclusive of all Disney media like Wotso tries to be, in the park show Villains Unite the Night, Maleficent along with Hades, Jafar, the Evil Queen, and Dr. Facilier were made the all powerful rulers of the entire universe together. So if she wasn't tougher than Chernabog before that show, she sure is now.
I'm very sure the Horned King must be Chernabog's servant too. I'm think the Horned King must have been the great and sinister general of demonic army until Chernabog himself made him one the rulers of evil.
Chernabog is the source of evil when it comes to Disney. I wouldn't be surprised if they do Descendants 4 (doubtful) wouldn't be surprised if he rears his ugly head.
I thought you were going to say that because she got her powers from the underworld... she got powers from Hades and thats how they fell in love and had Mal and stuff.
Isaach I believe Maleficent used to be a good fairy like the three good fairies Flora, Fauna & Merryweather. Until she got greedy & wanted much more power. So she sold her soul to Chernabog. In return, Chernabog gave Maleficent Stronger evil powers & demonic goblin-like servants to do her bidding & a castle on the forbidden mountains or perhaps bald mountain.
Hey, it seems like your assuming that a fairy and a witch are the same thing so they would have to take the same vow. The Witch would have to take the vow. The fairy is a creature of magic. She maybe derived from Evil and since she calls herself a Mistress there seems to be an Evil pecking order. The fairy is more like a part of or descendent of Churnabog.
In 1958, Bob Thomas visited the Disney studios and wrote a book about it, “The Art of Animation”. The book is all about the making of Sleeping Beauty. He reveals a few lines of Maleficent’s dialogue which were finally cut. . . “When Maleficent sees he (Phillip) is making it, she shouts: So far! But no farther shall weaklings’ virtue triumph over evil’s mighty spell. Now shall you deal with ME, oh Prince, and all the powers of HELL!” So they lost the spell-hell rhyme, but the cut dialogue seemed long, wordy and a bit clumsy, so it had to go.
Speaking of both Sleeping Beauty and Snow White I actually have two new theory ideas for both of them. Once Upon a Dream explained-Do Aurora and Philip actually share some kind of psychic connection? Would Malificent still have cursed Aurora had she’d been invited to the christening? The Sleeping Death explained-How Snow White’s Sleeping curse differs from Aurora’s curse. Who is Snow White’s Prince? And what took him so long to find her?
(crazy unbelievable theory) that if Chernabog created the Gargoyles or if they are his direct descendants. you noticed his resemblance to them and that he probably can't stand sunlight either. He also has glowing eyes.
I do like this theory, as it has a lot of basis. The reasons that Maleficent might have gotten more power than the queen is because she is a fairy, where the Queen is only human. And given that Sleeping Beauty is in the 14th Century, and Snow White in the 16th century, both in Europe and the world did not evolve very much until the renaissance at the beginning of the 16th century, it is possible both could access the place. Perhaps the Queen heard of Maleficent and followed in her footsteps. My approach to Maleficent has been a bit different in who she is. I always perceived her as a dragon who learned dark magic and took the form of a humanoid to better torment the kingdom. I plotted out how she got the castle on Forbidden Mountain, how she wanted to learn dark magic, the works. I will need to read Maleficent Return just to see what happened and make sure that the story could follow through there. Always enjoy your insights into Disney, as your talks are clearly researched and not just slap-dash efforts. Keep up the awesome work. Am going to go through your channel, as I think I have an idea for a vid. If it already exists, you’re awesome!
the interesting thing is how the older classical magical villains are very related to one original source of their power, whereas modern villains of the Disney's Reinassance and a bit after it, their source of power was different, and much later very recent ones could even got another source furtherly: - Snow White's Evil Queen: Chernabog band - Ducktales Magica De Spell: Chernabog - Fantasia's Chernabog - himself - Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent - Chernabog - The Sword in the Stone's Madam Mime - Chernabog - The Black Cauldron's Horned King and the Wiches of Morva - Chernabog - The Little Mermaid's Ursula - Chernabog (though could be something different as later undersea magical antagonists happened on The Little Mermaid's universe, such as Evil Manta from the TV animated series, or Morgana and Marina Del Rey from the secuel movies) - Aladdin's Jaffar - Hades band (he was originally sustained as something like Chernabog, but as the animated secuel movies and TV series later grew up and eventually merged with Hercules universe, it got proved that it was something different from what was thought) - The Lion King's Scar (more like from the Royal Guard series than the original movie as he is summoned from the death as a spirit) - Unknown - Hercules's Hades - himself - The Emperor New Groove's Yzma - Hades - Enchanted's Queen Narissa - Chernabog's last attempt? (She is actually a mixup of Evil Queen and Maleficent at the same time) - The Princess and the Frog's Dr. Facillier - Hades or someone else (even Chernabog again) - Moana's Tamatoa - Ursula perhaps?
I definitely think this could be a possibility. As I was watching though I remembered watching your video on Vor. I noticed that Maleficent and Vor looked similar and had similar goals. Do you think the two could be connected somehow? Other than the story of Vor’s ring.
Following the podcast! I am looking forward to listening in and wish you all the best of luck. It's always good to see a fellow Disney dreamer find happiness. :)
I'm a big Disney fan and I love your videos after seeing Maleficent the live-action movie I really don't think Maleficent is evil at all she's just hurt and misunderstood according to the movie I mean he cut her wings off granted he didn't want to kill her but still she trusted him and she ultimately snapped honestly before then she wasn't evil at least not to me anyway
Some people are coping hard "Maleficent is her OWN master!" "She's just built different!" "She did it all on her own!" Where tf else is she gonna get that sort of power? Everything lines up perfectly. The truth stares you in the face and you disregard it. Deals brokered, summoning power from an outside source(hell). Chernabog is the GOAT. The end.
First time I saw the movie (which was when I was nearly and adult) I was sure her master would be Satan. After all, she said that Prince Phillips would face the powers of Hell and we all know who is the master of Hell. The movie doesn't refer to Maleficient as the ruler of hell, she is the ruler of the forbidden mountain. We also know that Chernabog was an actual intent to portray the christian devil, not the slavic god. So the rest is about doing the math. Still, what a nice video! I never knew about the Evil Queen's story in such detail and didn't understand all Sleeping Beauty references. Hope you can keep the good work!
Theory checks out. The original plan for Kingdom Hearts was to have Maleficent as the main villain but Chernabog was going to be the final boss. This was changed but they still kept Chernabog in the Final Level of the game.
With the sentence "All powers of hell" I think not of a master she gets power from, but the magic itself is the master. Powers of hell means the Darkness, black magic itself, like it's just potential that exists in the world and one just has to use it. The same goes for good magic. A master could teach you how to use that potential, but you could never use their power or call open them

If Maleficent had a master, it would be CHERNABOG. Nobody else has the power Chernabog has. Not even Hades and Hades is a god of the underworld!! Maleficent declared herself mistress of all evil. She is the dark queen of the unseelie court. There is no limitation placed upon her by any master.
It's that very self proclamation that is her limitation. The power she wields, although dark, it was power beyond her understanding.

@@khodexus4963 in this video there is evidence that supports this theory. Substitute the word master with teacher. You don't need hardcore evidence to understand that we are all taught by another. He is stating that there is a force greater than herself from which her power derives. Which is not a far-fetched concept. Bruce Lee was a master whom at one point, was trained by a master.

I believe Chernabog influencing her would be a
perfect origin for Maleficent.

It is always a good day when a video about Malificient's awesomeness as a villain comes out.
When I watched this video, I was shocked that maleficent had a master. When I watched sleeping beauty, I always thought that maleficent was just a fairy who been transformed to a dark fairy in my childhood. Now I finally have a true answer when I watched this video. Thank you so much👍.
She doesn't somebody helped her yeah but she became vil because somebody made mad. Watch Maleficent movie and you will know;)
Fairy? Where do she look like fairy? I rather thought she's a human... but likele not regular mortal one, as she gained powers and long live cause to some pact with the devil - or something like this. (Polish dub (which h is how I watched this movie back then) seems to imply it even more than the original, as she call upon hell's power already when creating thorn forest (literally "Hell's power I summon you!"), and kinda refers to satan before her transformation into Dragon (she's telling that she'll use "satanic powers"))
I really don't get how anyone could come to a conclusion she's a fairy... well except maybe for that Maleficient movie, as I hearshe is somewhat portrayed there as a fairy, and not as actually evil but I think the very idea of that film was stupid.
The fact that Maleficent serves Chernabog has already been confirmed in the Kingdom Keepers series.
She is The Mistress Of All Evil
Again, not mistress of just the evil that Chernabog doesn't have jurisdiction over, All evil.
It's just as easy to make the argument that Chernabog serves Maleficent, and all the reasoning we've collectively stated would still apply, moreso in fact I think.
hades was never really evil. he just did his job.

Maleficent: Now shall you deal with ME ol prince, and all the powers of HELL!

Yet....In Kingdom Hearts 2 she held off the heartless hoard so Sora and co could run off to defeat Xemnas. Even with her reasoning of "this castle will be MINE" that never made sense to me. Why would she help Sora when just in the previous game she corrupted his closest friend?
Ace Coordinator Mary doesn’t she know the future and stuff?
I mean she does no love but her Loe didn't last so she thinks if you love somebody that they will do bad things behind your back, Her daughter had to turn her in to a salamander because she was in loved with ben, she knew he was different and wanted to be the queen someday and be there with ben.
She just helped Sora because they had a common enemy (the organization) and she wanted Sora to defeat them.
11:45 Okay Is it really a stretch to say that he shape shifted into a Pitbull? Well, I don’t think soo after all a certain Maria Dalmatian needed some help. I won’t go into detail but Chort was the result and she herself’s Delilah’s own Mom

Maleficent is a 16th level Fairy warlock
Where as the evil queen is a lowly level 5 wizard.

You do know defendants is a completely different story from the animated movies do you?
Well I can't rember when I clicked on a video this quickly, it must have been my favorite villain on Disney Chernabog
This is a really cool theory and it makes so much sense!!! :)
Well said, I think your on to Disney!
I've thought that the Queen was just a weakened Maleficent having survived the sword to the chest...so much for that idea.
Interesting but... consideing they have separate obejct among Wicked Nine items I don't think it actually can be true.
Kh1 chernabog fight was fire and awesome!!
I think Dr. Facilier got his magic on the same way as the Evil Queen and Maleficent
Honestly, I never knew or thought about who Malificiant's master was until you came with a possibility on who could've been her master.
(the regions mentioned by Madame Leota.)
Which may also represent the Fifth Dimension of '' Twilight Zone - The Tower Of Terror. ''
That could be the dimension where the spirits dwell. That way there would be within that
- Heaven
- Hell / Underworld.
*Welp, that sounds pretty legit to me , Isacc, well done on this one!!!*
Hey, here's a theory. What if Zhan Tiri from TTS is Chernabog. Now is the best time to theorize on this ;)
Gonna stop you right there. Zhan Tiri doesn't have wings, and she talks way too much.
I would like to know more about Diaval. Maleficent's Raven and their relationship.
From the live action version of Maleficent
But who’s the REAL Disney Devil? Chernabog or Hades?
chernabog
I think Chernabog... after all Hades was kicked out of Holimpus by Zeus so if that didn't happened Hades would have been kind of good.
Chernabog is pure evil, he only wants to do evil for no really particular reason
Chernabog, Hades was forced to be the God of the underworld, dead and among other things, he may have done bad things as most gods have but I think he's not evil, just happens to have done bad things

Just a theory tho
Maleficent has a master??? I never thought of that. Excellent theory thought, Issac. Faires are born with magic, but not evil magic. Maleficent chose to be evil. The hidden question is why is she evil? Was she a victim of being an outcast? Bullied?
@Sarah Harper get outta here
Great theory dude. So terrifying and dark but I love it. I also agree with it!
Hence, I don’t believe Maleficent ever came in contact with Christian powers (priests, worshippers, radicals, etc)
Chernabog is supposed to be the representation of the Disney Devil.
Chernabog makes so much sense
But also, I think a reason why both Maleficent and Chernabog were defeated was faith. That is why I believe she was killed, and Chernabog wasn’t
Chernabog being the devil even means he is the most powerful darkness. She wasn’t that powerful to do that
Along as Maleficent has that staff, she is somewhat powerful, but not the extent as Chernobog, who can summon spirits at will
O
Love your podcasts glad you found a career in something you're passionate about. Keep it up :)
Chernabog is the source of evil when it comes to Disney. I wouldn't be surprised if they do Descendants 4 (doubtful) wouldn't be surprised if he rears his ugly head.
There won't be a fourth Descendants since Cameron Boyce died.
It might seem crazy what I’m ‘boutta say~
I thought you were going to say that because she got her powers from the underworld... she got powers from Hades and thats how they fell in love and had Mal and stuff.
Maleficent and Chernabog both live on top of a mountain.
That would make sense because there would be to F's and to M's.
Do you think that now that Disney owns FOX, that Rasputin is also bound to Chernabog?
Maleficent is my favourite Disney villain
Awesome video i love your videos
Perfect theory. It fits so well! Fantastic!
I might actually watch Maleficent 2 if Chernabog made an appearance. 😈

More Chernabog please. Friggin’ love him.
I just imagine what would be Maleficent's reaction if her raven pet Diablo was reveal to be the actual Diablo from the Diablo series.
Now that would be a crossover worthy of prase
WELL DONE! Makes total sense! ❤️
(crazy unbelievable theory)
that if Chernabog created the Gargoyles or if they are his direct descendants.
you noticed his resemblance to them
and that he probably can't stand sunlight either.
If it already exists, you’re awesome!
the interesting thing is how the older classical magical villains are very related to one original source of their power, whereas modern villains of the Disney's Reinassance and a bit after it, their source of power was different, and much later very recent ones could even got another source furtherly:
- Snow White's Evil Queen: Chernabog band
- Ducktales Magica De Spell: Chernabog
- Fantasia's Chernabog - himself
- Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent - Chernabog
- The Sword in the Stone's Madam Mime - Chernabog
- The Black Cauldron's Horned King and the Wiches of Morva - Chernabog
- The Little Mermaid's Ursula - Chernabog (though could be something different as later undersea magical antagonists happened on The Little Mermaid's universe, such as Evil Manta from the TV animated series, or Morgana and Marina Del Rey from the secuel movies)
- Aladdin's Jaffar - Hades band (he was originally sustained as something like Chernabog, but as the animated secuel movies and TV series later grew up and eventually merged with Hercules universe, it got proved that it was something different from what was thought)
- The Lion King's Scar (more like from the Royal Guard series than the original movie as he is summoned from the death as a spirit) - Unknown
- Hercules's Hades - himself
- The Emperor New Groove's Yzma - Hades
- Enchanted's Queen Narissa - Chernabog's last attempt? (She is actually a mixup of Evil Queen and Maleficent at the same time)
- The Princess and the Frog's Dr. Facillier - Hades or someone else (even Chernabog again)
- Moana's Tamatoa - Ursula perhaps?
Interesting assessment, makes sense and adds to the richness of the lore.
I definitely think this could be a possibility. As I was watching though I remembered watching your video on Vor. I noticed that Maleficent and Vor looked similar and had similar goals. Do you think the two could be connected somehow? Other than the story of Vor’s ring.
I just wanna say I love your videos and you are a great host.
Ah, Maleficent... That's my girl!
And, you, Isaac, are adorable! ;o)
Following the podcast! I am looking forward to listening in and wish you all the best of luck. It's always good to see a fellow Disney dreamer find happiness. :)
Mal is my Mom’s favorite Disney Villainess. She’s so WICKEDLY AWESOME .
Some people are coping hard "Maleficent is her OWN master!" "She's just built different!" "She did it all on her own!"
Where tf else is she gonna get that sort of power? Everything lines up perfectly. The truth stares you in the face and you disregard it.
Deals brokered, summoning power from an outside source(hell).
Chernabog is the GOAT. The end.
Chernabog! My favorite villain
Omg love this channel
With the sentence "All powers of hell" I think not of a master she gets power from, but the magic itself is the master.
Powers of hell means the Darkness, black magic itself, like it's just potential that exists in the world and one just has to use it.
The same goes for good magic.
A master could teach you how to use that potential, but you could never use their power or call open them
I have no master. I am the master...... NO one can defeat me THE MISTRESS OF EVIL HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
That’s amazing. I love it & I agree
And the Beast thought that death was too good for these villains. 😅
