Only use avios with a voucher, can normally get 2p per avios. That 60k I'd worth in the region of 1200 quid...as long as you can do the 15k, it's well worth it
Hi I have spent over £4k on my BA premium plus card after applying for it via the Executive club ( great video Andy) - but have yet to see the 60000 avois - anyone else also having this issue ?
Well, not really an increase in real terms. The £10k was introduced in 2008-ish. With cumulative inflation taken into account, £10k at the time of card introduction is equivalent to around £15.7k when using Bank of England inflation calculator. So in real terms the spend limit actually fell. I am surprised no one mentioned this. I guess people just expect companies to ignore inflation permanently ...
Andy that me received an email today from Santander saying “This is a reminder that the interest rate on your Easy Access Saver Limited Edition (Issue 3) will reduce from 5.20% AER/ 5.08% gross (variable) to 4.20% AER/ 4.12% gross (variable) on 20 May 2024. I do have savings waiting to pay off the house later at the end of the year due to retirement, What’s your thoughts ?
I'm in the same situation, I'll move it in a stocks and shares ISA and buy money market funds with it. Those give you return near the base rate and they're super low risk. And since it'll be in an ISA I'll be sheltered from taxation. Not a financial advice, just letting you know what I'll do with my savings.
My partner and I have just opened Cahoot Sunny Day Saver. 1 joint and 2 individuals. 5.2% up to 3k only in each account. May not suit everyone but at least 9k is at same rates as Santander after 19 May 2024.
Hi. I stupidly got a BA free card in Feb. Does this mean I can't get any sign on bonus on another AMEX card? Or is there another way I can stack? Or if I cancel the card now, will I be able to get the paid premium card? Please help, so confused!!!
Hi Andy, Thank you for the information. I got my BA premium card last week, I already spent 3k on that card. If I downgrade the card to BA card before the statement date, will I get the 60k Avios point and the full refund of the fee ?
Hey mate check with customer service but yes you will get most of the annual fee back, sooner you downgrade the better, just make sure the 60k avios are in your account

it is not £15k, it is £10k. The new limit is only from 1st of November, so it is trivial to spent £10k by then as it is still about 5 months left

What about if you can spend 10k in the first month? Will you get the both the 60k bonus points AND the companion voucher straight away?
yes exactly that. then you can ask amex to downgrade your card to the free one and you'll keep the bonus points and companion voucher
Terrible offers IMO.
Are there any experiences of Amex being funny about downgrading the card after securing the intro offer ?
