Chris now that I have owned this watch a few weeks it has become my go to watch. I enjoy placing it in the sun each morning when I am not wearing it to keep that solar eco battery charged up. Its comfortable, durable and easy to read. The lume after a morning charge is super bright and still readable in a dark room for the whole night. I can recommend this Kermit Promaster Eco as a good Grail watch. Thanks Chris for pointing me in the right direction.
hello, I wonder why no reviewer says that the mineral crystal is a coted mineral cryslal because it is.xD Another thing is....I am sorry to say but that is not a real Citizen Eco drive Pro Master. The case back has nothing to do with the real thing and the seconds hand is not hitting the 5 minutes hand down to the 20 minute hand...thae real deal does. Another thing is that color configuration....it does not exist on the Eco Drive Pro Master. That is a fake my friend all the way around that watch.xD
Oil filling a quartz watch is not that hard but if you want to get good results, something like a Ressence, the color of the dial and the shape and material of the crystal are very important to take into consideration. Curved/domed sapphire on a fully black dial works best, but the downside is that battery/capacitor drains faster, like if the watch has a 3yr battery life, it will be drained in less than a year. There are multiple videos on YT that shows the process of oil filling.
@@WahrheitMachtFrei. Yes, you're right. It's a little bit different and it depends on the movement model but if you can oil fill a watch, you probably can change a capacitor too, not a huge deal.
@@WahrheitMachtFrei. They call them "capacitors" but they're really rechargeable batteries. Fully charged, they're said to go about six months in darkness. I've looked up what these Citizen watches use and they look like and change basically like a standard watch battery, but cost, if I remember, around 40USD. I'd be more concerned about the fluid resistance putting more stress on the mechanism over time.
That's not the final results i suppose, it can be corrected by opening and injecting more oil and closing the case again. Sometimes it takes 3 to 4 times to achieve the best results without bubbles. So let's wait and see what Chris is going to do.
Oil filling watch itself is not that interesting. HOWEVER, how much the WR may increase could be. Have you watched The Abyss? Same concept as in the movie with that experimental deep dive suit. Replacing air filed space with a liquid should dramatically increase the WR. Like other watches that are oil filled as mentioned.
Yes I have seen the abyss. Also, there is an article in a UK forum and I will find it and send it to you here if I can find it again. Where a person who worked on an oil rig took a Casio child watch, filled it with oil and tied it to the rig drill. It went down in the neighborhood of I think a thousand or so meters and came back up unharmed
The hydraulic press channel did it and it went 3000m and didn't break. Theoretically you would need to take it to a depth that would crush what the components are made of.
At 7:30 of the video you mention how the oil sits on the sapphire crystal, giving it clarity, but this citizen doesn't have sapphire, correct? Yousaid it get's a mineral crystal at the 2:55 mark. Does that change the clarity with oil filling?
Mannn, I ruined 2 watches trying to oil fill them. 1 was a Timex digital, like a G shock style. It looked cool, then once I started pressing buttons everything malfunctioned. The light would stay on, the display would disappear then come back, etc. Then I had another watch, Quartz, that I oil filled and the second hand just stated slowing down and stopped. You could see it vibrate in the dial, but fail to advance. I got "mineral oil" which is what I read to use at the time and I got it from an RC shop used for the shocks on RC cars. I wish it would have worked, I like the look of it also.
I've noticed a number of people & watch companies recently getting into this oil filled process. This has never really appealed to me. A few years ago I saw Invicta do that with some of their watches. I blew it off as being some sort of stupid gimmick. In retrospect, I probably should have bought one of the Grand Driver models offered with that feature.
I have a promaster and a couple seikos and various other watches. The promaster by far, has the best lume in my collection
You stated in the video a thickness on 10.6, but your micrometer clearly shows a thickness of 11.6 in the video.
What's the reason behind of filling with oil a watch?

I think you bought the watch already oiled, check 1:48 😁
I will oil my Casio marlin, but I want the bubble, it is way cooler with a nice bubble.
Indeed this watch is filled (not fully as a air bubble show) with oil
The bubble can make this watch use as a level 😀😀

This citizen works with light, you might make a big mistake to fill it with oil.
I thought I wasn't the only one who noticed a bubble inside the dial.
I bought one a year ago (metal bracelet) for 160 euros
And now the price is up of 100 euros ..... !!! even Rolex can't do that ! 😀😀
I also have this on the bracelet, truly a great piece.

Would that matter on a solar like this?
@@WahrheitMachtFrei. solar watches use capacitors instead of batteries but they work kinda the same way, so results are the same.
@@Jack.Napier So fair to say replacing a capacitor in a solar is a bigger deal than a quick battery replacement in a watch meant for that?

Oil? Look at the drag on that second hand. No thanks. The watch itself is gorgeous.
You talk about oiling it without leaving a bubble, but you've already oiled it and there's a bubble...(!)

Do the kill the skx thing ! Kill the promaster ~I wanna see how durable that is
How did the oil fill go? I looked for the video but couldnt find it?
Alguém aqui saberia me dizer porque uns modelos tem escritas na pulseira e outros não
I like the eco drive promaster. I prefer the date placement on the automatic so I went that direction.
At 6:08 Seiko is not listening to any of us, Chris.
No point to oil fill a watch

Could you oil fill an lcd watch like a f91w or a gshock?
Yes, every quartz watch can be easily oil filled and there are many videos in YT showing how it's done
I purchased the Black and Gold after saying no more Black watches but there it was calling my name and at a really great price.
I want an oil filled watch. I am lusting after a Uboat darkmoon green dial 👍
Won't oil leak out and air get in every time the crown is opened?
I would love to oil fill my orient king master
It seems like the oil would short out the EcoDrive quartz movement. For hour sake, I hope I am wrong. Good luck!
Hey, video is actually dropping soon. Not only does it work, It works well and it looks amazing! I was surprised as well to be honest 😂
Can't wait to see the oil filled video...haven't learned a lot about that!
that bezel...😍😍😍
Awesome! Love Citizen.
3:27 10.6mm...?

The date is a no go for me .
It will age and look like shit !
Wouldn't the electronics short out ?
There's oil in the watch in this video, hence the bubble...
No but the battery will drain faster over time. Much faster than usual.
Loved my black one so much i bought this green one. Love it!
I have never heard of "oil filling" a watch. Very interesting.
Check Ressence, they're mechanical oil filled watches, they're good watches but very expensive.
@@Jack.Napier I hate those watches. They are so beautiful and I want one so badly, but I am sooooo poor. *rage* lol
