OSRS has evolved well past its humble "2007 MMO" roots. Jagex has largely kept their word and developed the game in such a way that the player base enjoys while making improvements to the new player experience. That said it's not for everyone. It's incredibly grindy and repetitive. Many accomplishments take tens or even hundreds of hours, even if you do buy Bonds, and that is entirely by design. Long story short, after 1000hr of OSRS, I can say that it's a good game, and Jagex has done a great job of maintaining the integrity of the game since the release of old school. And for the right type of person, it's a fantastic and satisfying game. Otherwise, it can be incredibly frustrating and repetitive.
