Impressive. But missiles hit each other so close to the plane that for real 9M96E2 warhead smithereens would hit your plane and damage. Aim-9x should reach incoming missile further. Has anyone tried that in real combat?
tbh I think in real life you would be swiss cheese after this. Those exposions where really close. Cool video nonetheless. Btw. why dont you like the Hornet? Is it to easy to fly/operate or to incomplete?
That's true! It is not possible IRL to get away from those shrapnels when it explodes even if it blows up 500m in front of the aircraft. Also, it is theoretically possible to lock on to a missile during it's boost and sustain phase but it should be impossible to track it in it's "coasting" phase let alone fire an AIM9/R73 at it. It's hard to put into words the reason for my dislike of the aircraft. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad aircraft or that the model is bad. I know how hard it is to get such models into a full product and I think they did a fantastic job. I just don't seem to like how it flies through the air. Something feels off with the resulting motion of the airframe after giving input through the stick. It could be because I got used to flying bricks like the Mig21 and I do enjoy flying the Su27/33 more than anything else in DCS
@Musa Peter oh boyy, not only like this, hopped in the Sukhoi 33, turned on the IRST and Radar, switch up the HMS and i was shooting Patriots, Sidewinders and AMRAAMs with the R-73.
If this was real, first explosion within 50-100 ft would have destroyed the plane and killed the pilot instantly. You should have a disclaimer 'Dont try in Air' . lol
Maybe not, If the missile isn't detonating under its own volition and there is a primary explosion between the jet and the s-300 then maybe, just maybe it could work.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it ^^ The S300 is useless without the Tracking radar and since it is a 100ft tower, its easy to spot and take out. The patriot site while being easy to penetrate, is much harder to neutralize due to the smaller modules with only the radar unit barely standing out.
Amusing. But. The SA-10 has such a large warhead that if this were modeled appropriately the blast from at least a couple of those intercepts would still have been close enough to damage you. But this is squarely on DCS not modeling proximity effects well enough on the SA-10. Nice work though.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it ^^ I'll be doing another video when the F14 comes out, already have scenes ready for it and a very good soundtrack to go along with it.
So many russian comments are here, angry defending their precious kettle launchers. Another reason why you are the Boss XD FYI comrade, payload top speed does not equal "outclass". A sam on approach has already spent a bunch of energy, while if the pilot gets a lock, the sidewinder will have crazy advantage
No, I made this mission so I knew where it was. Lets just say I got good intel ^^ Also the S300's biggest flaw is that it's tracking tower is easy to spot, unlike the patriots' So if you make it into the safe zone of the SAM (the minimum distance at which a SAM can not engage you) you'll have all the time you need to find that tower. As long as short range SAMs are not there of course ^^
The AIM-9X seeker is like a FLIR camera, it can see the shape of the target rather than just detecting where hot spots are. And the all aspect missile no longer needs to look at the exhaust, it can target aircraft from head on by detecting the heat caused by friction.
Dunno, but it isn't based off of any movie (at least the ones I've watched) But do let me know what it is when you remember it, I'd like to watch that.

It took some serious GAMING skill ,not flying and a huge game glitch to do it !
