I bought a Cronus on it’s own, I’ve played 100+ games with it and haven’t had a single ball break at 270fps. Th only thing I did as upgrade the barrel with a 16” .683 bore. Shoots like a laser now. Roughly a 1ft spread at over 100ft away.
If you're new to paintball and still totally unsure if this is a good hobby for you then yes go for it. You'll have to spend money on the tank but otherwise it's a good introduction to paintball if you're not interested in spending real money just yet
I bought that same pack for my first gun and then mask has been through hell and back. The disposable tank belongs in hell, but that mask took a beating and never fogged up. I guess I just got lucky
ANS does have good starter packs. Got my girlfriend into paintball with a pack that had an hpa tank, dp e2 marker, pod pack, pods, hopper, and an absolute garbage mask for 270. The only bad thing was the mask. The rest was perfect for a beginner that’s looking to get serious with paintball
Andres Baron If it’s the $150 kit from ANS I’d say spend the extra $30 and get the kit with the hpa tank and better mask. The mask isn’t gonna be very good in any of the starter packs but the rest of that package will do you good. 98’s are super solid guns and are very customizable.
Lol exactly how i got my tippman cronus with that tactical set with it. I have yet to use the tank and the mask lets u eat as much paint as u want. I just went and ordered my self a dye i4 mask so im pretty set now
So, I've been playing with the "starter mask" for over a year. And using CO2 for that long. I play for fun a couple times a year with friends or my kids. I think these pack are good if you don't want to spend $500+ on markers, masks, tanks, etc for a family of 4. This should say *if you're playing every weekend and are serious about the game don't buy*** But if you play for fun with your family and don't want to rent then these are fine.
@@gilbertgrape9969 well mainly because I don't like other people's sweat on me and rental guns are expensive. On the field we play on it's $25/player if you rent, and $10/player if you don't. ($15x3=$45/person difference)
My first paintball gun was a tippmann 98. I bought a power pack and an hpa tank. I spent around 200 dollars and had no problems. The mask I have used for 4 years. It has only ever fogged up 1 time and the co2 was definitely a problem but only 60 extra dollars to have a fantastic set.
I own a JT spectra mask... I like it. Doesn't fog up much at all. Last year at flag raiders battle royale everyone was complaining about fog and I had non. Not the most comfy thing to wear for several hours though.
I kind of went backwards and spent way more on my gear than my marker. I like milsim style though.. What I have: Tippmann tmc with 8 mags Freak barrel kit Dye i5 mask w/gopro Urban camo Strikeforce vest with: 6 mag holder molle utility pouch pistol holster tank holder 5 10 round tube holder Matchin urban camo shirt pants beanie jacket And a tactical belt with drop down molle leg holster with a dual mag pocket attached 200$ marker 800$ in gear lmao Just need a pistol now and im set but that's gonna have to wait lmao
I think that they are okay for beginners but if you actually want to get into tournaments then you would probably want to definitely get some better stuff
Dj Guy not even for a beginner it’s good bro. Co2 is trash because you have to keep buying once it’s out but with hpa you just refill it for free at ur field. Plus the mask has to be thermal lenses if not there is no point of playing paintball
Tournament isn't even a subject in this matter. I think this is truly for the newbies. The ones that play once with a rental because of a friend then goes to walmart to buy these packs thinking they having everything they need. They won't know or sometimes ask if co2 is refillable at fields. They won't be able to test a mask then it fogs up and they are boned 2 ways. No air and no eyes. I feel bad when this happen to players.
i bought a set with a hp tank, a realy nice mask and a tippmann sierra one for 270€ i think it was a good deal, since the helmet would cost 100€ on online sites
That would be beyond what he's talking about there are good startups usually labeled elite or pro he's talking about the beginner they cost around 125 all together
I think the only way you could use that 90 gram effectively is with a modified stock class phantom in which case you could probably get about 230 shots
If you get a player pack get the GoG enmey marker player pack, it come with a choice of two goggles (not sure if good or not), a 200 ball loader and a 48cu 3k air system
This video is legit but yes on ansgear.com you can choose a mask and hopper, of course tends to be spendier than a new player is willing to pay. My #1 I always suggest to people is a good mask, you can rock rental gear for a while but a solid mask is priceless
Co2 tank are great if you don’t play at a field. I live about a hour and a half away from a field but I play on property I own I can’t get hpa filled so I use co2 because I can get it filled about 15 minutes away
The markers in packs are all good for beginners - occasionally an intermediate marker will come in packs. I do agree with the tanks - co2 is not great, however, no stores in my area offer hpa refills, and I’m not going to buy a air compressor for myself. I just rent hpa at my field, because they rent out tanks. Otherwise, I use co2 while messing around in my yard. Finally, the masks are crap, but not as bad as you make them out to be. With some anti-fog spray, it works as a nice, functional(while cheap), mask
I know my comment is late...I just recently got into getting my gear...but everything I have is 2nd hand(no shame)and everything I got was an absolute bargain,VForce mask,Tippmann TMC,48ci tank with a cobra coil remote like...so far all my gear comes to about $200 for gear that would come to near $1000
Here in NL the kits always come with a HPA tank, but thats probably also because theres only two fields i know that still use Co2 to be honest And what about a mask byers guide on what you shude look for and what you think are good starter masks
Hey Alex, can you make a “what do you put in a tool/parts kit? I have a TMC and don’t know what’s susceptible to breaking and what needs repaired most often and what I need. Thank you!
with the tmc you just need to put a drop or two of tippmann marker oil in the asa then dry fire it a couple times. Thats what most fields do with their rental 98s/ft-12s and those work year round with no problems
Here in germany there is a proto rize maxxed pack for 540€ you get a proto rize maxxed a dye i4 a dye rotor (first gen) a quick feed and a hpa tank(granted its an aluminum one)
I bought a pack that came with the tippmann a5, vest from maddogg/zephyr, hardness with pods, remot coil(never going to use it tho lol), maddogg gun case.. for $260... i bought a mask separately.. i bought a Dye SE mask pretty good mask for for 30 bucks and its thermal lense
I ref at Paintball park and some young kid saved up 400$ to buy a paintball setup and bought it on Amazon, the gun barrel broke first game (it was plastic) the gun started leaking and it was a paintball gun I’ve never heard of with a really crappy plastic mask (we didn’t even allow him to use the mask cause we were so sure it would break)
Ok so it depends where you buy the pack from. lots of sites allow you to customize your pack for example i chose a HPA tank over a Co2 and its a actual good tank like vulkan high quality tank. My mask is also not terrible its a JT which isnt very good however its worked well and only steamed up once when it was raining and very humid . I also made my own adjustments by removing the forehead shield which may or may not have made it illigal on the field but hey i did such a good job one of the marshells mistook it for one of the classic jt masks xD so im pretty proud tbh. my hopper was complete garbage but a small £12 got me a proto primo which works like a dream and looks great.
Outside the USA you can buy decent player packs. They give u a Valken Mask,HPA Tank, even a Battleback and pods together with the Cronus or other Markers. of course not for 100$ but for like 250$ (including export and tax)
When I started paintball, I had to use rentals all the time but I hated them so eventually I bought my own marker, my own mask and my own tank. It wasn't one of those starter kits, infact, I never knew starter packs existed until I bought my gear. But I did get a lot of the same stuff as you would get in a starter pack, like the some what bad marker or the Co2 tank. (Not the one use tank, the one that can be re used but doesn't have a gauge.) It works fine for me, the mask isn't that amazing but it's fine, if it works, I can use it at least throughout all my beginner years, I can take it. Hell, just last night I saw a used marker that had bad range. It was at an open play paintball arena, I already had a marker, and I didn't need a new one, but it interested me. You know that paintball game, center flag? I thought it would be perfect for that game, even though some people said it was a terrible marker and the one I have is better. It was the only Marker under $50. I would've bought it, I could've spray painted it Navy blue and given it to my brother, teach him how to use it, and get good at it so when he's old enough, he'll want to play. Some markers may be better then others but, That marker, was good in a way. The only bad thing was its range witch wassn't very far. But, it was cheep, light and easy to clean.
for all the uk viewers if your buying from just paintball you can upgrade the tank to hpa for 30 pounds and the mask to thermal for 10 pounds so a lil bit more money but I think its worth it
I have the exact cronus player pack in the video and did a two day event in the mask and had no issues, don't get me wrong it's definitely not the best mask but if you're just starting out its not the worse. My mask was also not single
I got a Tippmann Cronus (TACTICAL) and got a HPA tank (3000 PSI), a Empire Helix Mask, a gravity hopper, the tools, pod holders with pods, and the barrel cover! I am a lucky bastard!
What if the pack came with a HPA tank? I’m worried the tank will be trash or leaks. I’m not against buying just the marker and everything separate so I get better quality but the price is considerably higher. I’m a recreational paintballer i go maybe 6-7 times a year, so is it what would you guys suggest
I'm a new player I've only played twice or three times I found a Tippmann in the dumpster I replaced the O-rings and it worked perfectly and then I bought another gun which was complete trash a viewloader Orion I still have to replace the hose and o rings but it came with an HPA tank so I'm happy could you possibly do a video on the Orion thanks
BeastlyJester 94 I had an Orion also lol. It was my loaner gun to newbies on the field. I actually put an old school teardrop smartparts barrel on it and it shot lasers lol.
that is a good deal. the mini is around 300, tank is around 60 pods and pack is another 45. and the hopper is a solid 100 bucks. that all without the mask is a deal. so pretty solid.
The only decent pack/kit I've ever found for beginner is the Valken V-max Plus/Mi-7 (thermal lens), and 48/3000 for $100. Its sold on some of the larger online paintball stores and paired with a cronus, it makes an amazing beginner package.
Learned this too late for my sons first setup. He really wanted the cronus with the military looking plastic barrel housing and stock because it looks cool. Already bought new mask and HPA tank. :-(
When i was working at orlando paintball as a game host we would see allot of those kit guns then they would ask why the guns on our wall looked nicer n cost more always complained bout there mask i always told new players just go buy a smartparts shocker
in order for me to be able to rapid fire w my Tippmann Cronus I’d have to get a HPA Tank? As of now, I got the lil cartridges that holds 88/90 grams of co2. However, I cant rapid fire, I know the cold has a lot to do w it but I read only bout if I had a HPA tank none of that would be an ordeal problem ..PLEASE EDUCATE ME !
Maybe the markets are different... But, starter pack with VALKEN V-TAC SW-1, Proto Switch EL Black Thermal, 0,8l 3000psi air tank, and a mag, for $160. The VALKEN V-TAC SW-1 without anything costs $215 (this is europe, VAT (taxes) inclusive). Some packs, like ones with Cronus, you break about even if you just buy the Cronus and the cheapest tank separate, compared to if you buy it as a starter pack (so you lose out on mag, cheap mask, and like bag... Instead get a tippman tank instead of nobrand tank). I suppose the markers could be scam markers, up-marketed to make starter packs look good, I have no idea. It's hard to believe a pack like the Valken pack is bad though.
well I've never seen a tank included in a player's pack but the players pack I purchased ten years ago came with a decent gun and a jt mask that was actually pretty good considering my brother bought the same mask that came in my players pack and he had to shell out 65 bucks just for the same mask I had I think the moral here is that over time players packs have just gone to shit as far as the accessories go I'm sure some still come with decent guns
Listen up person whos going through comments to see if they should get that kit on Amazon. Don’t. Everything but the gun is going to be replaced immediately because theyre not quality. If you buy good stuff separately itll save you more money in the long run. Only good packages I’ve seen are the legendary packs on ANS. They at least have hpa tanks and a decent mask!
I argee with the tank agrument. But I was breathing hevy and it was raining and my mask was the best out of all of us. (I had the tipman crouns power pack).
If person knows going in that pack sucks might be good idea so they have extra stuff for friends, so dont buy it to save money buy it for last resort gear
Alex!, again I do agree with you. Though! 0n a Good note, For these young kids getting into the sport? The players packs are not extraordinarily horrible as far as the marker itself that is. lol And yes I've found >UNLESS the players packs are coming from a reputable manufacturer/company or paintball store. Not >"Wally-world/Walmart", then ya player packs can be Good, some stupid purchases! lol. Depending on price and reputable name. Knowing what your buying before you buy it is wise. The Markers as we all know, is the real reason why the player packs are bought. Maybe not the best markers on the planet, most markers right of the players pack are legit enough to start with. As far as the other junk that go's in the player pack!? Im gonna have to agree with you! The mask#? Yup! Junk, cheaply made, might be good for Halloween? >Not a tournament. Not safe. The paintballs? All the paintballs SUCK! they're either dented, cracked, cheaply made, very breakable, and will jam, or explode in your new marker. Do NOT put those cheap paintballs ever into your new markers. The only thing they're good for is throwing at each other? Or the trash can. As far as the small C02? They are only good for testing your marker. The Jt co2 packs a punch! but again doesn't last long, nor is it refillable as I feel it should be. Still able to do upgrades on the marker though! Which matters. Naw,..The players packs are for like; spares you keep around for your friends or family to use. lol. On my scale 1-10 for players packs I'm going with a (4) just because they need to take more pride in the whole package of stuff not just the markers. 🇺🇲🤜💥🤛🇺🇲 Tj
The whole idea for these is to get Mom/Dad/Grands/Crazy Uncle to buy the kids for their first marker to get on the field. The mask is MEANT to be replaced. Manufacturers KNOW they're crap, that's why it's in the box. The "tank" is the same thing. It's meant to give a player a taste of the game cheap. Think of them as the cheap dealer's sample from that shady guy on the corner. Once you're hooked, you will shell out for the better and more expensive stuff.
I disagree I got a azodin kaos 2 kit with a compressed air tank and a empire mask still going strong 4 years later so idk not all combos are bad but these cheapo kits are poop
If you go to ansgear.com they have legendary kits with tons of guns I mean tons of guns with a good mask and an HPA tank I personally bought the azodin chaos 3 legendary package and it is only 219 and that's all you need for paintballing it comes with everything a nice mask good tank and a great gun
I'm pretty sure the people that a player pack would appeal to only play paintball once or twice a year and don't really give a crap about the quality of their equipment XD
Mag Fed Ops the point he is making is it’s not worth the money because you have to keep buying co2 if you want to play even if it’s only a couple times a year. Plus the mask also fogs which basically causes you to not play
Of course it's not worth the money, but getting into such an expensive sport and not playing enough to warrant that sort of investment (for the gear you'd really need) would merit getting cheaper kits such as these.
I have met a few new players who were frustrated by their purchase of a players pack ... like too tall said ... marker is fine rest is crap .... best to get a decent marker and mask ... then go mag fed so you have a reason to wear a jock hahahahaha jk speed and woods ballers love ya all
my only speedball gun was an Ego 10 and I sold it the very next year for my first mag fed rifle. I've been hooked since 2014. I don't even own a gun with a hopper anymore so unless I spend more money, there's no going back :D
I've frequented like 3 different fields in my area and none of them fill 20 oz CO2 tanks anymore
Just leave them on the shelves at Walmart...
I’ve been saving up for that Cronus set, glad i saw this video before buying.
I bought it it's not that bad for fog tbh
I was my first marker I have a mini gs now but it’s a good starter gun
Just don’t use c02
My spyder markers are 20 ish years old . Always used co2 flawlessly..
I bought a Cronus on it’s own, I’ve played 100+ games with it and haven’t had a single ball break at 270fps. Th only thing I did as upgrade the barrel with a 16” .683 bore. Shoots like a laser now. Roughly a 1ft spread at over 100ft away.

If you're new I'd use rentals the first few times to see if you're into it
I had one of those masks and it was decent
I bought that same pack for my first gun and then mask has been through hell and back. The disposable tank belongs in hell, but that mask took a beating and never fogged up. I guess I just got lucky
Me too the mask is still going strong 💪🏼
Same
Your right actuly ans gear has starterpacks where you can choose your tank and mask of a list of stuff for the pack
FiveTwoMX what do you think about the tippman 98 custom kit
Andres Baron If it’s the $150 kit from ANS I’d say spend the extra $30 and get the kit with the hpa tank and better mask. The mask isn’t gonna be very good in any of the starter packs but the rest of that package will do you good. 98’s are super solid guns and are very customizable.
FiveTwoMX thanks bro
I just bought that for the gun and agree with you about the tank. Did I mess up
I purchased the TipX Players pack and I think it was definitely worth it!
Yea it's good to get you started I bought the conous tax eddtion
Lol exactly how i got my tippman cronus with that tactical set with it. I have yet to use the tank and the mask lets u eat as much paint as u want. I just went and ordered my self a dye i4 mask so im pretty set now

molle utility pouch
pistol holster
tank holder
5 10 round tube holder

And a tactical belt with drop down molle leg holster with a dual mag pocket attached
200$ marker
800$ in gear lmao
Just need a pistol now and im set but that's gonna have to wait lmao

Dj Guy true
You used to ba able to customize player's packs on the Badlands website... Kinda wish they still offered it.

jonas barnhart you are a rare exception, and only with the most basic markers would you want to run CO2.
co2 is actually better for certain older markers, such as high end palmers. I have a few and they run okay on HPA.

is the gun good tho?
There’s a mini gs, 48/3000 tank, halo too loader, pod pack, mask on eBay for $445 that’s the best “players” pack I’ve found
that is a good deal. the mini is around 300, tank is around 60 pods and pack is another 45. and the hopper is a solid 100 bucks. that all without the mask is a deal. so pretty solid.
Aneronix - came with a mask too but you’d definitely need to upgrade that
@@howardkey6152 yea thats what i meant, even without the mask is a deal.
The only decent pack/kit I've ever found for beginner is the Valken V-max Plus/Mi-7 (thermal lens), and 48/3000 for $100. Its sold on some of the larger online paintball stores and paired with a cronus, it makes an amazing beginner package.
I got a spyder victor with a tippman 20oz tank
Learned this too late for my sons first setup. He really wanted the cronus with the military looking plastic barrel housing and stock because it looks cool. Already bought new mask and HPA tank. :-(
Co2 is not good for your gun Compressed air?
I have that player pack and the mask is nice it’s never cracked and it doesn’t fog up the marker is really good I think it was a good buy
ans gear has probably the best player packs go check em out :)
My players pack came with a good Empire mask
When i was working at orlando paintball as a game host we would see allot of those kit guns then they would ask why the guns on our wall looked nicer n cost more always complained bout there mask i always told new players just go buy a smartparts shocker
Where’s the link to buy that
in order for me to be able to rapid fire w my Tippmann Cronus I’d have to get a HPA Tank?
I got a good player pack. I got hPA tank, mask is fine, coil, project salvo a few years back. Was like 150
I use the first mask and have had no issues with it
Listen up person whos going through comments to see if they should get that kit on Amazon.
(I had the tipman crouns power pack).
javanqhill oh thank god hopefully mines good
Ah thank god im a beginner and I bought the players pack but the tank was co2 so I bought a compressed air and I already a thermal mask at home
If person knows going in that pack sucks might be good idea so they have extra stuff for friends, so dont buy it to save money buy it for last resort gear
the black tank is pretty good.
yeah I also live in a town where we have to use co2 in our guns because that is all we have so I didn't even know co2 was bad for the guns
Black Friday paintball mini GS pack
Is a high pressure chrome moly cylinder a good gas tank good? please tel me
Is the tmc kit good
I just got the Kronos packet of checks is super good
there are a lot of player packs that come with a maddog air tank that is descent
I bought one with a 48ci 3000 psi tank with mine
I got the Tippmann 98 custom power pack tank was subpar the mask was OK
If you go on amazon
Look on amazon. Great guns for great prices
What HPA tank is that?
Alex!, again I do agree with you.
Though! 0n a Good note,
For these young kids getting into the sport? The players packs are not extraordinarily horrible as far as the marker itself that is. lol
And yes I've found >UNLESS the players packs are coming from a reputable manufacturer/company or paintball store.
Pevs did this back in the day I believe with the 06 egos
I personally think they are good for beginners, and they can always sell the mask and c02 tank and buy better gear.
baoown have you seen the crappy paintball gear people buy and sell on apps like letgo and offerup? Do a search on one of them and see what i mean haha
My friend bought a player pack that came with an HPA tank. But the mask practically had styrofoam as padding.
I saw one on amazon with a carbon fiber empire 68/4500 axe 2.0 and halo 2
literally bought a pack, and the tank already had a leak out of the box
Lone wolf paintball has a pack with a good tank
I disagree I got a azodin kaos 2 kit with a compressed air tank and a empire mask still going strong 4 years later so idk not all combos are bad but these cheapo kits are poop
Just more videos in general?
I agree with you on the tank but the mask doesn’t fog up I have that mask it’s perfectly fine
I’m looking to get into paint balling soon
@@the_goat748 it’s really fun
My Cronus Power pack came with a 9oz co2 and a tippmann valor mask so for $110
but you didn't review the gun??????????????????????????????
Reasons not to buy a package 1:cheap gun 2:cheap mask 3:co2 tank (trash) 4:no barrel bag or squeegee
How about the AnsGear Kaos 2 legendary pack
I have the Cronus and the mask doesn’t fog up and also you can just BUy a different tank
I got a players pack cronus with a hpa tank pods pod pack and remote cord but the mask was crap
the jt mask works well it dont fog
I have met a few new players who were frustrated by their purchase of a players pack ... like too tall said ... marker is fine rest is crap .... best to get a decent marker and mask ... then go mag fed so you have a reason to wear a jock hahahahaha jk speed and woods ballers love ya all
XD
my only speedball gun was an Ego 10 and I sold it the very next year for my first mag fed rifle. I've been hooked since 2014. I don't even own a gun with a hopper anymore so unless I spend more money, there's no going back :D
Lone wolf paintball they got awesome packs
Tmc players pack comes with hpa tank
Mine does not do it
Ok but how the hell am I supposed to refill my HPA tank if I'm not at a field.
