Great post. Agree 100%, I am a long time guitar player. Gibson, Fender etc... have been re-issuing old models for decades. So I say why not.

120K or more for a copy of a Cobra from the sixties is nuts. You can get so much more for that amount of money. There's no way they cost anywhere near that much to make.

Less scary to actually drive. Wrapping this around a tree would suck but not nearly as much as wrapping an original around the same tree. A car to have fun in and not a trailer queen.

I drove a super performance 427 with the Tremec 5-speed. I wasn't impressed. I found the car awkward and cumbersome.
They had switch to rectangular steel for the frame. I think I'd rather have a 289 slabside with a 4-speed. For driveability.

Yes. And the slabside is the better more fun car for sure.
My favorite. I like the 427 but that one is my favorite. Don't care if it's not original. Still looks great

Only today's "collectors" not really car people but they can afford to speculate on the Shelbys that they never drive will be owning originals. Replicas even with Shelbys blessing are the best bang for the buck for real car people. Track guys will probably go for something less expensive than a Shelby replica but if your not a track guy you can still impress the folks at car shows with a Shelby Clone and amateurs will not know it's not an original.

What about the Daytona's and Omnis ?? This is better machinery. Should probably invite anything with a Shelby Plate. Petty administration ain't a plus.
The car in the video is not considered a real Cobra by original Cobra owners. You don't know what the Cobra 1000 is, do you? It's an annual event for owners of original Cobras only. It's not publicized. 1,000 mile trip and you can only take what you can bring in your Cobra, No sending luggage ahead or chase vehicles with mechanics. Lynn Park (multiple Cobra owner and owner of Trigo Wheels even made custom space saver skinning knock of Halibrand wheels to get more luggage into the trunks.
