I don't think in this case the question was sexist. Pregancy hugely affect the body and hormones so from a physiological point of view a woman would be more affected than a man by a child, in terms of time off courts and simply getting back in shape for professional level, mich like coming back from an injury. it is a legitimate question.

It's a pity though that in 2024 interviewer still asks sexists questions...
Why should it be more of a challenge for her to come back to tennis after being a mom and not for him after being a dad
I'm not talking about the physical aspects of it but Gael is talking about sacrifices and what about him?
It's not about the players that I love and are put on the spot with those questions it's about the media
How are we going to change the world if we don't stop putting the mother as more important than the father?

And notice how they always ask the women where the baby is but never the men... both Osaka and Nadal recently became parents but only Osaka is asked about where is her baby and who's looking after her - they'll ask about her not having her baby around but they'll never ask a man about not having their new born around - there's still this inherent belief that a woman bears most of the responsibility in taking care of a child when it should be just as important for the man to be there for the child as well
Osaka was constantly asked about how her perspective changed after becoming a parent, while Nadal may have been asked once
Because mothers are more important than the father. What man can grow a human being inside their bodies that you (male) help put there and are finished with the deal. We are stronger not than we get credit for not stronger than a male but in our own right and place. Font want to be men. Just respect what we due is equally important.😢

The role of a father is not only to "plant the seed"
When a child is raised in a family with 2 parents (whatever their gender), it is both their roles to educate and be equally present for the child in my opinion
What I pity is that the media perpetuate the idea that the mother should sacrifice more than the father... (and this is a social construct based on patriarch bias)
