I hope a lot of younger trades people see this and take it seriously. I have started having to charge GCs and property owners for cleaning up after other trades fairly often (after discussing the situation with them of course) and they usually don't like the tacked on amount. I get called backed for more work, the trashy subs that cost them more money because of that don't get more work, get a negative reputation, and ultimately miss out on the higher paying jobs. There may be more than enough work out there, but the multimillion dollar sites don't want trashy people.

Because if we all respect each other's talent, ability and time even a LITTLE bit more than we have in the past, it can help make for a better, less frustrating day at work as well as increase the jingle in everyone's pockets at the end of the day. It can also help prevent or reduce workplace injury if we all look out for our trades brothers and sisters as we would family, because that's what we are.
