Been looking out for this! It never fails to make me cry. There's actually a fourth song that goes between this and the last one narrated by Virtute, called 17th Street Treatment Centre, which is narrated by Virtute's owner. It's short though, so if you decide to do it, maybe combine it with Virtute at Rest. Jon Samson has a great voice and evocative songwriter. Utilities is another good one, as is Left and Leaving.

Not sure if you picked it up but she “can’t remember the sound that you found for me” is her forgetting her name. So her owner is an alcoholic, can’t take care of her, she leaves, he goes looking for her drunk and she stays away but remembers back to when times were better. I think all that context is what makes this one of those songs that people regard as one of their all time sad songs. Great video, great track.

Brilliant song. There are so many excellent Weakerthans songs to choose from. Maybe "Left and Leaving" after the trilogy?

Even if it's not for a video, Pamphleteer is one of my all time favorite Weakerthans songs.

Sweet song, great sound. I had 90's vibe but you mentioned it's more recent. Now I will have to go back to the first song you have done already! Btw l love all animals but really love cats!

Shawn, The facts you research and share set up the song. The tempo is slow and steady and the guitar sounds softly played while the drums are played hard with a strong beat. The lyrics tel a story in a sad way and you extract the meaning well in your comment.
