Mad lads they are indeed. James laughed in a recent interview when bringing up the fact that they all said fuck it let's keep making fast heavy music and bury ourselves further than they already are, age and physical limitations be dammed.
@@Taxable_Trophy harmonies are mostly written by hetfield but since this album James let the others members have more input in the song (more than just riff) I can't say for sure who wrote it, we must wait for the "making of" vids
They didnt, the album suffers from the same problems as the last one, lack of editorial becuase they dont have a strong producer and have infinite studio time, shitty solos and drums that are way too basic.
Fucking chills, the whole song is just pure chills. This song is so underrated its astonishing, best song on the album, top 15 metallica songs ever. NO doubt
That's a huge load of an overstatement. Metallica were never bigger than the black album Era and let's be honest: they haven't been relevant since st.anger.
For me the best song of the whole album …. The guitars are amazing, the bass line 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻btw… the visuals and the art of the video make it total justice !!
Awesome to see the reaction to this one. I was one of the 2:44 heads of 3d for this project and gotta say a lot of love and passion was put into these visuals! Awesome team with awesome directors that got us the opportunity! Metallica killed this track of course that goes without saying 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Metallica will always have a special place in my heart ❤ they also got me through some of the worst times in my life and I will be forever grateful to them!! Also…. Why does James keep getting better and better with age!?!? 😅
They're 'something' you always can rely on. At least, they make me capable to escape from a wicked world that is sometimes to much for me, as the anxiety gets too strong to cope with. And then, just sink into the 'Metallica-cocoon', which feels like coming home but even better, is such a relief. It's better than any therapy for me so far to be honest.
4:44 - 5:08 Wish they´d have extended more seconds or minutes this part a bit more. Just love this part because for some reason makes me think of Cliff: He was who taught James how to harmonize when he was in the band. This part makes me feel so happy and emotional.
A Metallica fan since I was a kid in the ‘80s. I’m glad that after so many years they can still make me feel goosebumps with masterpieces like this one. Probably one of their best song EVER.
what i think is pretty cool about the end is not just the fantastic harmony and the last "set me free", but when he sings that, you see the padded room start spinning, and later on it shows James going crazy in there trying to get out, with that riff playing i think its a super cool moment
I've been a Metallica fan since the early 80's when a friend that was into metal played me a live cassette tape by the band. This song in on par with some of their best hits. Super impressed that age has not impacted your art gentlemen.
1:24 aint gonna lie, the way Robert Trujillo looks like in these shots animated, they made him pretty buff to the point where he starts to look like the singer of Dethklok lol especially in the Awaken video

James Hetfield is not entirely human; he's something above and, ultimately, just like us in his heart. Respect, and I'm sure the next album will be even better!"
Just love this song for guitar. Its the most fun song to play (harmonies yay) and also challenging ("the notes in between"). Metallica-Thrash at the beginning, dramatic unleash at the end. And I noticed that behind those harmonies at the end some fella (James?) just tremolo-picked his soul out behind those harmonies. I mean James would have to clone himself to do harmonies and tremolo-part at the same time live. But it would certainly be awesome.

Love and respect from Iran❤️🩶💚
3:59 - 4:27 Here the drums just go nuts and, technical-wise, it does sound like something from Lars's older fills and tricks! :) This one is especially cool 4:13-4:15
No words to explain how great they are. Metallica are the best.
Man, this album rules. I liked Hardwired, but I LOVE 72 Seasons. The lads really delivered.
Agree!
Mad lads they are indeed. James laughed in a recent interview when bringing up the fact that they all said fuck it let's keep making fast heavy music and bury ourselves further than they already are, age and physical limitations be dammed.
Agreed!!
I am in agreement at first I liked hardwired more but now I think 72 seasons is the better album.
Fu** yea
3:36 that solo...love it.
That's a riff
@@andremourapassos319 It Is an harmonisation, it can be considered a solo.
@@andremourapassos319 👍
Who wrote it ?
@@Taxable_Trophy harmonies are mostly written by hetfield but since this album James let the others members have more input in the song (more than just riff) I can't say for sure who wrote it, we must wait for the "making of" vids
Few expected this from Metallica. In my opinion, they shut the mouth of many critics with this album. One of the best releases of the year.
hahahaha dont pull my leg blind fan...
They didnt, the album suffers from the same problems as the last one, lack of editorial becuase they dont have a strong producer and have infinite studio time, shitty solos and drums that are way too basic.
¿how much does Metallica staff pay you to comment that bullshit?
@@homerc9101just because something is basic does not mean it’s shitty
@@senatuspopulusqueromanus543no your the fake blind tan who can’t be pleased
This must be one of the best true thrash songs Metallica have released in decades!
for me spit out the bone best thrash song by Metallica in 21st century
@@vladcrisstrue. But this song is great. Punk + Metal
@@MP-lq1vy also all nightmare long, yea room of mirror very nice
this is not thrash, but it more like heavy metal. still amazing song
This song sounds like 80s melodic punk rock/crossover. I love it.
That's a cool way to look at it. Thanks
This is actually a very good song. I'm glad they wrote something so straightforward.
The whole stretch from 4:01 to the end is absolutely bonkers. Best song on the album, hands down
Metallica is a religion. I feel like a child in Christmas again. I have not been that happy in a long time. Thank you Metallica 🔥🤘
It is the only true religion!😊
One of my personal favorites from the album. I hope they play it live 🤟🤟🤟
Fucking chills, the whole song is just pure chills. This song is so underrated its astonishing, best song on the album, top 15 metallica songs ever. NO doubt
Cliff Burton is smiling with a bright light upon you Metallica nothing makes him happier then this.
Fan of Metallica since Kill 'em all. It is amazing they are even more popular now! Keep going strong Metal Heads!
Who thought that that was even possible?
Well, they went many ways with their music, so brought in loads of fans ....
@@metal4lifewp I kinda liked knowing how awesome Metallica is when most folks did not even know the name Metallica,
@@Shiljamannn Their growth is due to their amazing talent and creativity. Genius must grow!
Agree!
I agree. This song shows that they still got it, the video is super top notch too.
3:36 This exact harmony by Kirk is the best thing in this album ❤
Agreed!!
Everytime I listen to the ending of this song I cry. One of the most beautiful melodies composed in human history
Oh God
@Criag Flowers I know right 🤦
Metallica will always have a special place in my heart ❤ they also got me through some of the worst times in my life and I will be forever grateful to them!! Also…. Why does James keep getting better and better with age!?!? 😅
It's the magic that is metallica!!!
Super impressed that age has not impacted your art gentlemen.
its like disposable héroes with am I evil intro, some of black Sabbath and finishing with killer power metal
Best song in the album
True. And they haven't played it yet 😭
Great solo from Kirk, he immediately elevates the song to a new level where it stays until the end.
This song is great !! I just want to listen to it all the time. I am glad to have met Metallica.
I second that for sure.🤘🤘
METALLICA HASTA LA MUERTE
I’ve been listening to Metallica for 37 years. But I doubt that I’ll still be alive 37 years from now, LOL.
Harmonies at it's finest can't wait to hear this live!!🤘🤘
I was convinced Chasing Lights was my favorite, but Room of Mirrors takes the place. Awesome jam, just perfect
1:24 aint gonna lie, the way Robert Trujillo looks like in these shots animated, they made him pretty buff to the point where he starts to look like the singer of Dethklok lol especially in the Awaken video
Best Solo of the Album. One week has passed since the release of 72 and Im starting to feel this is Metallica's best Album since Black Album. The Yellow Album is a Masterpiece.
Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
The harmony here that everyone loves and the one from 3:29 or something at Too Far Gone? carried this album for me. Wow
We need a bonus disc with 30 min of that harmonized guitar, plus double bass at 4:50
When you see "This is my personal favorite song on the album" being commented by multiple people on every one of 12 tracks released to RUclips, you know that the Mighty Metallica have indeed released their best album in 30 years and that's an amazing thing. Rock on Metal Gods! ❤
the best album in 30 years isn't saying much

@@ridenar1456 nah man. The only album I’d say isn’t that good is st anger
Confirmation bias,
Best Song on the album. I'm totally obsessed with it 🤟
The minute I heard those harmonized guitars in the end, I had a huge smile on my face.
This song has sprinkles of 80's Metallica in it.
Another Metallica masterpiece!!! No words can do truly do this justice!!!
This entire album is fire. That change @3:37 is monumental.
So far my favorite on the album.
It will fit easily on any of their 80s catalog.
When that part comes when james scream "freeee!" and the double bass and lead guitar comes in is EPIC

"I've been listening to METALLICA since 1989. My favorite album is '...And Justice for All,' but I love the others too, of course. I also loved the album '72 Seasons.' Thank you, METALLICA. James Hetfield is not entirely human; he's something above and, ultimately, just like us in his heart. Respect, and I'm sure the next album will be even better!"
Metallica for ever
The scream at 4:43 gave me goosebumbs

I love metallica because of their lyrics, theyre so true and so relatable they really connect with the fans and I love that. ♥️♥️♥️
Same here, this album is a solid one!
This song is SO good. That last minute or so is unreal.
It is, i have missed them!
¡Viva Metallica!
¡Está canción es perfecta!
I like the "broken, beat, and scarred" line. Feel like it's a direct shoutout to the track with the same name on Death Magnetic.
Why they don't play this song live? 😭😭🤘🤘
Probably because it sux. eet fuk no binging only purging
@@freedomnmetaltf is up with u
They eventually will.
because Lars..
@freedomnmetal I don't see why it sucks, this song is great. Especially the harmonies at the end are beautiful, and james' voice sounds better than it used to
