I find this very touching! I believe that any one who wishes to become a part of our religion is more than welcome.
It just shows how powerful and influencial the religion is and how it can touch people of other ethnicities.
    Its pretty cool!! ^-^

Congratulations Shavei Israel, this is a wonderful struggle you managed despite all the criticisms and bareers of the immigration process. These people are enhancing the diversity and rainbow of the people of Israel. This does not exclude other tribes to do as well.

    I`m touched to tears....almost.
Very impressed as to how Hashem has His strong hand on us all...
No matter what other Jews say about the Chinese Jews or Black Jews
or French Canadian Jews. We are ALL coming Home to greet Messiah
Yeshua who is on His way back to Yerushalayim!
This time, as a conquering King...of the Universe.
He will destroy Israel's enemies once and for all.

My last EX BF was American Born Chinese. Chinese People are easy to absorb into other cultures because they contribute alot to the people around them. Also many Jews leave Europe for Shanghai because there is no anti semitism in China. But I am proud that Chinese people are becoming Jews. Your people will strengthen us because Chinese people are a great people and greatness have no Ethnicity or Skin Color.

As a Chinese, I say we respect Israel a lot, almost all Chinese do. Not because anything else, but because you Israelis are real tough!!! Not everyone can beat an alliance of 4 to 6 nations single handedly, not to mention all those nations are much bigger than you. You are such a tiny country, but your achievements in warfare, economy, wealth, science and culture parallel even some of the largest empires on earth.
BTW, WTF is a CHINESE JEW?!?!?!?!?!?!

Jews have been living in China since at least the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The Kaifeng Jewish community first arose sometime during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). There is plenty of information on this. See 1) "Survival of the Chinese Jews" by Donald Leslie 2) "Mandarins, Jews and Missionaries" by Michael Pollak 3) "Jews in Old China" by Sidney Shapiro 4) "The Jews of Kaifeng" by Xu Xin , etc. These are only a few of the books and papers on the subject. Interesting reading.

I htink it's wonderful that Kaifeng's Jews are making Aliyah, but I wonder ifit's right to "convert" them to Ashkenazi customs? They're being taught to eat, sing, dance and say Hashem's praises according to "modern orthodox" which is Ashkenazi-centered. The Kaifeng Jews are thought to have been Persian in origin, but they're not being taught Persian-Jewish customs.
Being a Jew doesn't mean dressing in black and eating farfel.

This is really a beautiful story and I think it has the potential for something more. Unfortunately, based on Zionist racial hatred, I fear these people will have a difficult time being accepted and assimilated. I must add that not all Jews are racist or Zionist and I believe those whose belief is Orthodox do have a very strong spiritual character and great compassion for others deep down. With that aside, this is still a beautiful story. Thanks for posting.

I am a Jew from the Arab country - Iran, now lives in Israel.
The Khazars are descendants of the 10 lost tribes, and also the European Jews are a minority of the Jewish people.
Today most of the Jews are from Arab countries, but the Jews that predominate in the country are the Jews of Europe.
Jews = the tribe of Judah, of if you know that the Pathans are from the tribe of Efraim?
Soon the time will come and all of Israel will find, not only the Jews, and we will be close to 50 million!

@boliusb, The diaspora is responsible for all this confusion. I agree with you, the Jewish religion has preserved an ethnicity and a way of life. Rarely foreigners have converted to Judaism and Jews were isolated in many places especially Europe. There is no surprise that without a distinct country, the Jews are confused to be part of the local populations to where their ancestors were exiled. Thanks for your fervent enlightenment.

    • @yumiv2744

Why do you need a DNA test? When people go out from Egipt they had different DNA, when they go out from Israel had more different DNA, when they go out from the other countries they were go (because were in war or something) they had different even more different DNA. So jewish can have whatever DNA, what's your problem?
In fact, do you know jewish people have at least 3 diferent kinds of genotype? So if their family mixed their DNA with other since a lot of years, they can have even a rare DNA no seen before.
Do you are a genetist or something? Do you have test to say who is jewish? Do you decide who is jewish because you found a gene that says how many "jew" or "muslim" or "evangelist" are you? Do you have a quimic reaccion that say who is jewish like a test pregnancy? Please, don't be such a Mengele.

The ones in Gaza and West Bank, are unfortunately not, as they pose a threat to the Israeli civilians and mainly Jews. But you have to remember 20% of Israel are Arab and have full rights. In West Bank and Gaza they have their own governments and get lots of aid from Israel.

Kaifeng-Chinese Jews are very close to ethnic Chinese or Chinese speaking muslims neighbors. Many of them integrate into muslim community, the rest are extremely hard to be distinguished from ethnic-Chinese. Local people used to call some Chinese Jews as "Blue Cap Muslims".
Chinese Jews mension their ancestors as "Israeli", not "Jew".
Nowdays Chinese Jews are either classified as "Han" (Ethnic-Chinese) or "Hui"(Chinese Speaking Muslim) depends on whether they practice islam

@austpers I see you're also from Iran. Did you know that prior to 1979, before the Islamic revolution hit Iran, Israel and Iran had very close ties? Persians and Jews were like brothers, going back to biblical times. In fact, a lot of the Persians who escape Iran, are friends with Jewish people and Israelis, today and they are not proud of what their government has become. A lot of them even reside in Israel now. Amazing what Islam has done to Iran. I hope you guys will be free one day.

While I'm glad they're reconnecting with their Judaism, I would prefer that they return to Kaifeng to rebuild their community there. Something that existed since the 8th century shouldn't be allowed to go quietly into the night.

@grapisavillain My parents are both Jewish and we have a strong Jewish heritage. They both do not speak Hebrew or Yiddish and they don't have Jewish names yet they have a strong faith. Do you not recognize us as Jews?

Anyone born to a Jewish woman is a Jew.. I am a Jew and if I married a Chinese man my child will look mixed Chinese but under my guidance grow up to be a Jew..thus if my children marries into another mixed raced Chinese Jewish family my third generation will look much like a Chinese yet be a Jew

If they want to go to Israel, that's fine, but I wish that at least some of them would stay in Kaifeng. It would be great to see a thriving community in the city again after all these decades. There are such amazing and unique Jewish communities all around the world. Kaifeng, Cochin, Ethiopia, Iraq, etc, and I would hate to see these people all leave for Israel and be assimilated into mainstream Israeli culture.

@austpers You really have to understand that before those walls were built, the people living largely in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, were comitting terrorist acts like suicide bombings and the world stood silent when all these things happened.

This reminds me of my childhood...In my mother's home, we grew up Kosher. But Mom worried that her very religious mother, our Bubbe, might find out that we sometimes brought in Chinese food-traif. Mom taught my brothers and me that won ton were called "kreplach" and pork spare ribs were beef. Perhaps I was related in some way to these Aliot

    @canananpeople , read this
Ezekiel 36:24-28 (New King James Version)
24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. 25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you

They quite possibly have Jewish ancestry. It seems most of them have high nose bridge; a feature less common among Han Chinese.
Anyways, congratulations for their rediscovery of their ethnic roots and wishes for their success and prosperity!

@klar778, the jews are an ethnic group which share a common religion. This means that the relationship between jews goes beyond just sharing a religion. Jews also share a common ancestry.

@williameva There are 56 ethnicities in China including the majority Han. And in each ethnicity there seems to be more subdivision incl the Hans too of course. The borders ancient China shared with so many other countries as well as because of the silk route from Xian to Rome, it also means different peoples mingled and intermarried in those days. FYI, among the minority ethnicities who are "Chinese" in China are Russians,Koreans,Uighurs, etc. Most modern chn I daresay are not pure Han anymore.

@austpers Actually, this is not true. Egypt is not a collaborator. If anything, the people living in Gaza are pons for Egypt and the people living in the West Bank are pons for Jordan. Yassir Arafat was born where? Egypt.
