    What a great compilation. The community grows and the CFC just keeps getting better and better. Great to see lots of historical shooting too! Congratulations to all the winners!

      You're a giant big part of that. Thank you for choosing this community. Shooting is cool and something we can all do safely. You demonstrate that with every movement and safety procedure. Thanks to people like you CFC is experiencing a black powder resurgence. Thank you! Maple Leaf 🍁 Up

      @@Riflechair no no. Thank you. Next year we will do our best to represent our local club, add a few more shooters, maybe a couple from the next generation so they can begin to chart their progress. We will hopefully up our video quality also. See if we can fit a few more swear words into the banter. This event is incredibly fun for us and helps to keep the rust from building up before highpower and/or Appleseed season. Who knew Bloke was such a badass with that .22? Omg.

    Great stuff. If only I had a place to shoot near by that can accommodate all the positions. My local range requires different height target stand between standing an prone, hence why I didn't get to enter even the rimfire division. Great efforts folks!

    Firstly: Holy Moly! I can't believe I did as good as I did! It's going to be tough for me to work on continuous improvement and doing better next year with a 2nd place score like that.
    Second: Thanks again to all the hosts, volunteers, and participants. This thing is a blast to shoot
    Third: For RC's question in the summary about Div4 lacking competitors; I would for sure enter if I owned a single shot. Heck, even if I owned a rifle with a magazine cut-off I'd see if that qualified, but currently I don't have access to one. I'm eventually going to be in the market for a Martini-Henry, but there is a couple other rifles further up the list I'm looking at first hopefully

    Many thanks to all the volunteers who made this possible and to Ethan from @ilovemuzzleloading where I saw this challenge for the first time. I will be back next year in at least the muzzleloader division if not Division 2 & 3 as well. Division 4... It would be my guess that there are very few of these guns around (at least not in my gun safe). I will spread the word about this challenge in hopes of bringing in a few more shooters. All puns intended, I had a BLAST! De Oppresso Liber.

    I was going to submit an entry, but the weekend I was going down to the range it snowed six inches and was absolutely freezing cold.
    I stayed home, as clearly winter hadn't quite finished with us yet.

  • @finnishrifleman7873
    @finnishrifleman7873 Год назад

    I can say that I don´t shoot DIV 4 cause I don´t have a single shot rifle. Still it´s always great to see entries in that division, keep it. I could maybe shoot it with my combination gun next time, will see later. It´s also great to see other shooters how they perform in CFC, it´s about testing yourself and not taking it too seriously. Good practice to hone your basic rifleman skills.
    CFC is usually the start of my shooting/practicing season. I shoot excessively in spring, summer and autumn but less in winter. One reason being that my range is practically closed in winter because of too much snow. Time to time I go to nearest city for open range but shooting isn´t much fun in cold(=below -15°C) temperatures and snow is another fun challenge. Fun living in north Finland... Anyway, I´m little bit "rust" in CFC time with changing positions, shooting generally but I try to use the opportunity to do a cold, not practiced run to see where I´m at the moment. CFC is great cause it tests four different shooting positions with a time limit.

      @@shockwave326 I think prescription safety glasses might work. Pretty scratch resistent and robust. Just an idea. Thats what I use in case of a head case separation. I believe most rifle ranger require eye protection.

      @@Riflechair lol i do have eye protection and good clear yellow glasses that are about 25 years old they still work but i was thinking in terms of prescription advice single focus(on the target) bi focal(dont know if that would work having to shift a persons head up),,,, and btw i did have one round when i saw the target at 100 and the sights were also clear i think i broke a vein doing that,,,, i tried but could not replicate it it was weird that even happened it was like i was 25 again for just a second lolololololo
      PS,, i guess bi focal might do the trick if i can learn to shift to the other focal lens without raising or lowing the front or rear sight in the sight picture

      @@HangInThereCat so, I have tested a few norinco SKS rifles with various factory ammo types. The best groups I have seen out of one of those is 5 moa. After working the action and bedding the rifle, I have seen 4 moa. Legend tells of people getting them to 3 moa. Yours looks pretty unaltered. That’s a 5 moa rifle at an 8 moa target with an AK sight picture. You really smashed it.

    Not got access top as suitable range😪. Had a go at 25 yards using 2" centre targets. Defiantly a challenge, defiantly would not have won even if it counted.
