You're gossiping and trying to make sure you get the juiciest story into all of your whatsapp/facebook groups the quickest. If you're really concerned for the family, delete the pictures, delete the messages, be quiet and pray for them.

Growing up my parents forced me to go to viewings and funerals of people I didn’t know. I can think back to when I was 8 and pushed towards a dead body crying out of fear. I could not agree more you. It’s nobodies business, it’s actually illegal to do this in Ontario. Old school Mennonites are very insensitive when it comes to this because it seems like it’s a game to them to see who got there first or knew of it first. Stupid, very stupid.
Going to funeral homes and the funerals should be about being there for the family, not to look at the deceased. I don’t walk past the caskets at funerals either. I remember having to get my photo taken with my grandfather in his casket and that’s the last time I ever looked into one. I didn’t want to remember him that way. I want to remember people that have passed away, how they were when they were alive...
When I last visited with my cousin in Manitoba, he said when he moved from Ontario to Manitoba, his plautdietsch was pretty much gone. But within a few months it all came back. And he is really trying to persuade me to move back . Hmmm I am giving it thought lol
