Ineke Berends miss Holland did a good job in Miss World 1977, She is really pretty.

What fun to see these old pageants! And Miss Sweden was truly adorable, she just can't believe it and is so happy as being almost delirious. So sweet....lol.
When natural europeans dominated beauty contests
Miss Sweden showed such sportsmanship, she clapped for everyone and seemed a genuine person. That was probably the reason for breaking the tie of the '5 winners'. Hands down one of my favorite Miss World crowning moment.
Yes, it was a very difficult decision, the great rival to win, Miss Holland 🇳🇱, Ineke Berends, but Miss Sweden 🇸🇪 took the show, bearing, beauty and elegance on such a beautiful catwalk! One of the Most Favorite Miss Worlds For The Show! ❤👌

mary stavin of sweden was actually 1st runner up on miss sweden 1977. the winner was supposed to join miss world but changed her mind and competed in miss universe instead. mary was informed only 2 days before miss world that she would represent sweden that year in miss world

Froken Sverige, Mary Ann Katrin Stavin. Miss World 1977, she's one of my favorite Miss World winner. Miss Philippines Melissa "Peachy" Veneracion, could gave her hard finals. Has she not forced to backed out, because of apartheid protest.
It is hard to say. Candidates from Asia and Africa tended to get overlooked in the beauty pageants in those days. That said, Miss Philippines was indeed tipped as one of the crown favourites that year by the bookmakers before she withdrew from the competition.
