How To Make Your Jeep XJ Doors Removable!!

In today's episode we took a break from the 65' Mustang to film some Jeep content! It was a nice warm day so I figured why not take the doors of the jeep and have some fun! I hope if you guys have a jeep at home you can see just how simple it is to take the doors off and enjoy the weather. If I missed anything please let me know in the comments.

I've taken the doors off my 1st gen 1980 Dodge Ram by removing the hinges & have been meaning to remove the stock hinge pin & use a nut & bolt like you did. The benefit of removing only the hinge pin is if you remove the hinge from the door or chasis you need to scribe it so that the door will be properly aligned when reinstalling. Also the torx bolt that holds the hinge on for the XJ is a pain in the butt to remove even after using some good penetrating oil & letting it sit I still stripped out two Husky torx bits. Running my Jeep TJ without doors makes me clostrophobic running doors so this mod is what I'll be doing this weekend. A note while I haven't heard of a state law saying you need doors most states require at least one rear facing mirror or possibly two so you may need to get an aftermarket jeep mirror.

My top pins can’t drop because of clearance with the door. It looks like your top pin is inserted from the bottom up. For the top pins, what did you use to retain the pins so gravity doesn’t pull them down.

You just unplug it. Remove the nut holding it in.
