    Fantastic to see so many steam locos in such good condition. 2978 would go like rocket given a good head of steam on a main line.

    My thought at seeing that French locomotive was "That looks like an ALCo". At 39:09 you can see a Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) builder's plate. MLW was the Canadian branch of ALCo.
