The GT series are anime only because at the time the Dragon Ball manga ended with the Buu Saga being the last chapter until Akira Toriyama brought it back with the Super Series as a continuation of the franchise, the GT is treated as a Alternate timeline.

I'd love to see another vid with additional Dragon Ball series openings as well as another video potentially on a few ending songs from various Dragon Ball series (please include Dragon Ball Super ending 10 if possible!)
I think the English version of Makafushigi Adventure is actually dope. Like FUNimation could actually do really good covers of some anime songs back in the day. Yu Yu Hakusho being the prime example
Makafushi Adventure and Smile Bomb were so old that Funimation literally re produced the music from scratch with more modern instrumentation and they sound so good
Other people have recommended it before, but Bungou Stray dogs, the OPs are all sick rock songs, and the EDs are all somber anthem type stuff(also just found out the ED for the last season references all the previous EDs), the anime is pretty good too.
FLOW did a modern version of Chala head chala in 2013 for Battle of Gods and it still slaps. Dan Dan is essentially a love song from fans to Dragonball for all the good times we had growing up. Since GT was thought to be the finale of the franchise it was all about saying goodbye. 😢 Oh, Jonathan Young has an insane cover of limit break x survivor. Definitely recommend. I think it's one of the few times his English version is better than Japanese version.

Also i wont be having any bruce faulconer slander, its not the best but its far from the worst the west produced and there's nothing more iconic and synonymous with dbz in the west, than that man. You cant even imagine some characters without hearing the dedicated track bruce made for each one. Example; perfect cell's theme. Thats it, case in point.

I am absolutely biased but one of my favourites is the German version of the opening for the og Dragonball. It's entirely different from the Japanese one and makes me feel nostalgia for something i wasn't even alive for. I believe it's titled "Das Geheimnis der Dragonballs" (translates to 'the secret of the dragonballs')
I think your experience for Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku was hurt by getting an AMV instead of the actual intro visuals, because as unintentionally hilarious as Step into the Grand Tour is, Jaoanese GT just flat out had a better intro (and OST) than the dub in my book. And I'm saying this knowing full well that Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku is a freaking love ballad, and the Japanese OST in general uses it as the full blown leitmotif XD
Day 13 of recommending the opening and ending of "Spare Me Great Lord". It's a chinese anime, so slightly different to the stuff you've reacted to so far, but it's got some of the vibest music and animation I've ever seen.
And to think that still in 2024 some people still believe that "Rock the dragon" is better than Chala-Head-Chala. Never was and never will be. Not even close.

Love old school ops because back then it was to ease you into a show, get it you settled into what you are about to watch. Hype youa little bit but just by the feelings of the show. Nowadays OPs are essentially there to sell the show itself because OPs circulate online and get people to watch. So they have to have good music or great visuals or both and has to show you an upcoming arc to once again sell you on the season/show. Mid to late 2010s to 2020s especially.

The English openings were always so weird, the 90s were weird in general, 4kids/saban ruined so many good openings, my fav being the digimon one that they just replaced with a weird rap... I guess they thought the US audience was too dumb to understand messages about "love" and other stuff.
