Congratulations!! Having grown up visiting Brookfield Zoo, and even working there one summer, I can't imagine it without a flock of flamingos! So glad they've returned! Their trust in their caretakers is obvious too. ♥️🦩♥️🦩♥️🦩
We should clarify - they do live in The Swamp building, but when it's warm enough out, they'll be taking strolls through the park. Right now they can be seen at noon walking around Roosevelt Fountain (weather permitting.)
They are just precious, and so well behaved...I am amazed at how they follow their keepers!
It’s so cute when the one zookeeper wrapped the baby around the blanket. It’s like a mother holding a baby!
I love these animals. Now I will have to come to the zoo more often to see and get acquainted with these beautiful birds.
They look so happy, can't wait to come see them.
Got to see these beauties a couple weeks ago. Come visit the zoo!
Oh, how I wish I had been there for their stroll to the Swamp!
You can see them walk around the fountain at noon (weather permitting.)
@@BrookfieldZooChicago thanks for that tip! I will try to catch them on a good fall day sometime soon!
@@BrookfieldZooChicagoOmg really? I'd love to see them walk around the fountain!
This was awesome to watch. It’s amazing how much they become imprinted on the keepers.

We have some here in Florida after the latest hurricane. Not sure how long they will stick around.
can they live and prosper in this environment?
They sure can!

I love to see the new flamingo residents, but where did we the orinoco crocs move too?
They are at another institution.
Do you guys occasionally take the flamingos out of their enclosure to take a walk around the zoo?
They go for a walk every day at noon (weather permitting.)
Aren’t those the Orinoco Crocodile’s habitats? Or am I mistaken?
Yes. The Orinoco crocodiles have moved on to another zoo.
@@BrookfieldZooChicago Awww. Gonna miss them.
Still, the flamingos look to be a fun new addition!
Can you try to bring back mandrills, sooty mangabeys, and vampire bats
Will the 3 chicks be able to join the rest of the flamingos?
The flamingos currently all live together in The Swamp.
Here’s a name for one of the male flamingos how about Wilburr.
That's a good one! We have a contest going on right now ... CZS.org/NameOurFlamingos
You know where flamingos belong...in their natural habitats along with all animals not locked in cages and exhibited to gawking people.
