Looks okey. But by putting a 2x4 on the slab when putting the grover helps keeping it straight.

for a down hill driveway would you want to have the finish a little rough? i was thinking about grip, esp. in winter.

How long do you let it set up for before you broom it

Awesome video Russ... just poured an 8' x 10' slab - mixed it from cement/sand/gravel... me and one other guy... man it sucked. Didn't look nearly as good yours. I should have bought that bull float. Just glad it's over with!

@RICHMONDHILL1981 - you can adjust the broom finish as you prefer. I tried to match it to the existing driveway. but if you want more slip resistance a heavier hand with the broom will give you that.

My scenario, sidewalk curb is actually higher than slightly sunken/cracked slob/sidewalk and I like to make it even again. Can I lay rapid set cement over then paint it with two coats of portland cement and then spray it with concrete sealer. Should I use rapid set cement alone or add some sand to prevent cracking.

      _ Remi _
you could use a concrete resurfacer - Quickcrete makes a line of products. Just make sure you use a bonding agent on your
      old concrete.
