The guy ahead of the screed with the rake is totally important to allowing a proper screed. Not enough credit given these guys. He ensures the screed enough mud without holes or mounds. Good job!

Thats the most skilled and hardest thing to learn . But mostly ive seen people assume the guy finishing behind as the main man

That's why you don't piss off your graders. And you buy them a beer after work.
If they don't like you they can make your job very difficult.

Disregard the negative comments buddy. This video demonstrates just how different concrete guys in Australia are compared to everyone else around the world. I’m very jealous that you have the time to pace yourselves because here in America, two guys on a magnesium 2x4 race each other to the end. Each pull is a step back and a typical day in Detroit Michigan includes striking anywhere from 5000 to 20,000 square feet off by hand. Anything more is typically done with a laser screed. Stay safe brother.

Great job screeding. Quality work. We would have done it with two guys and a 16' ft rod, but as long as you can give the customer quality, doesn't matter how you get there. Rake guy did great as well. Nothing worse, than having to rake concrete with your screed. Keep up the good work.

Half the work of concrete screeding is in what I call "quantity". It starts with the guy on the chute/pump, then the guy on the vibrator, then the guy on the rake, then the guy on the screed. If the guy on the chute/pump puts the correct quantity in, the whole screed bay is easy. The vibrator man can control it a bit with the vibrator and tells the pumpy more or less. Then the guy on the rake has to move the crete if there's too much or not enough, then the screeder after the rake. It's a team game concreting, that's why is a lot harder if you are a DIYer or doing it on your own. Either no one knows what they're meant to be doing, or you have to do everything yourself.

And what is with these concreters from overseas asking about our screeds? Surely Australia is not the only place that uses them?

Because you know it is flat when you do that when you Bull float to close it up you are dropping your Heights to close the gap

@@concreteninjathat slump looks pretty tight also. Why not loosen it up with a reducer to a 6 or 7? Less work lol

It's only hard if you make it hard. One of my favorite finishers says that a lot. You either love it or you hate it. There's nothing I'd rather do any day of my life than pour concrete

Fellas please don’t forget it’s all about the company that brings the concrete also I do concrete work and sometimes concrete doesn’t be mixed right and for it to come out smooth asf in this video you can see it’s mixed good. Great job

Nice job I’m a concrete guy also , can rake well but never learned to screed yet (not paid enough 😂) it takes a year or more just to be a good raker, and screeding is way tougher on the body! What slump do you poor at looked like a 6 ? Fair amount of bleed water for no poly. I see some guys using super on here and looks a lot easier and is stronger than adding water , do you use it?

chucker roo thanks mate the reason I am not screeding off the board is because a high-powered is always better The timber could be a bit up-and-down . 👍
