I absolutely love this figure. I have the first edition and was impressed with the added paint and accessories on this but was also surprised they didn't add in the karate jacket that he wears in stand by mode like the one that came with mine. I also had trouble inserting the open hands on mine due to the small holes. But I'm glad to say that after two years of trying i finally recently managed to get'em on. The trick is to widen the holes a bit, i simply used a pen to do so.
Somehow this Juohmaru is in my mecha designs' top 10. Love the color scheme, the retro armor design...& very powerful impression. I have a copy of this great gokin, but I wonder if mine has a defect or not... You see, at the hips, the ratchet is not strong enough to make the leg (left or right) stand forward... That being said, I have no problem for standing legs up sideways (like the super kick you showed in your video). But forward, the leg drops back :-/ is the same for your Juohmaru? thanks
That was a very informative review, thank you! I watched the original tv show in its entirety as a kid so very keen on getting one of these bad boys. As I have not got a figure before I wanted to ask you a few questions. This one seems sold out almost everywhere. You said it was a reissue, how often do they issue them? And where did you get yours from? You said you preordered, was it through Fewture itself? many thanks!
not unless they removed it before shipping it to me, quite possible. Wouldnt be the first time a store has removed the outer shipping box on one of my collectibles.
Welcome to the world of Fewture collectibles. I honestly couldnt say. Either there is an insane markup or a mixure of licensing fees and production costs. They are usually very limited figures so the cost of such a low run has to be worked into the price. While Fewture stuff is high quality, I have seen equal or better quality in less expensive figures. However, no one else is making a Juohmaru Gokin
I owned this one and I love it. It make me happy and smile everytime i look at him in my Display glass i put it in. Also is this Version 1 right? Because other one has Cloth in it which i think it is version 2 but i am not sure if there any different between this one and newer one?
+bader almajed Yeah, I noticed that. Fewture usually doesnt do reissues unless they change something. Not sure what is different about the new one. Seems the same
sheellar World PlaWresting Association. I believe Pla is short for Plastic. So basically people could buy little wrestling robots and fight them together
I just got mine, suprisingly heavy for plastic, thought I accidently got a die-cast,(I wish). The white parts are actually more like a light grey. Lovely, lovely piece.
This figure is diecast. So long as what you bought is an EX Gokin. The Gokin signifies that it contains metal. The paint used makes it seem like plastic but it most definitely is metal
RocketPunchArmy You've got me intrigued, I thought there were three of these. The original in plastic with unpainted panels, a second version called the re-paint version with painted panel lines, and then the re-paint but with die-cast parts. The front of my box looks exactly like yours. How could I tell for sure if mine is die-cast?.
RocketPunchArmy I have a collection of Sideshow, Hottoys, Master replicas, etc... worth many thousands of pounds, but this is the piece that I lusted after most. This robot hits my spot in a way that I just can't describe. I thought there were three versions, original plastic, re-paint plastic and re-paint die cast. As I only collect the very best, I had to have the die-cast. The only problem was, the only one I could find cost £926. I just couldn't pay that on principle. So in the end, because I just had to have it, I settled for the re-paint plastic. Although I loved it, this love was always tainted with the knowledge that there was a better one out there. Now, imagine my surprise, and intrigue, when you suggested that I actually owned the die-cast model. Although your reply was unequivocal, I didn't dare allow myself to believe it. You see, this is my favourite piece in my entire collection, it matters to me in a way that most people would find weird, unhealthy even. After researching this even more thoroughly, it turns out that you are, of course, correct. I do indeed own the die-cast model. Although your reply took only a few seconds, it has made a huge difference to my collection, and therefore my happiness. Thanks, friend.
Colin Morgan Like RocketPunchArmy said, that figure is mostly diecast. That's the material put forward by Fewture for his EX GOKIN series. Actually Gokin means Alloy in japanese. And there is only 2 versions of Juohmaru EX GOKIN, both diecast : - The 2008 first release : black box. Figure has no panel lines, glossy paint, Karate Gi among accessories ; - The 2012 second release, called "modeling color version" : royal blue box. Figure has mate paint, black panel lines, and the 2 belts JPWA & WPWA among accessories (no Karate Gi) I don't think this figure has been counterfeited... Considering the limited release and audience for such deluxe adult toy...
Robotic pee pee?, mate, I burst out laughing. Such a professional review, thank you for it. Did you know they're asking £926 for the die-cast version on Ebay?, That's just rude I think.

No problem, yeah you should be very happy with it
Last I checked, Amiami had it in stock for 15,200Yen which comes out to about $225 with EMS shipping
I would have to check next time I take him out, It probably will since ratchets are probably smaller in that direction
Thanks for watching!

Mate, that's sweet music to my ears. "Gokin means Alloy in Japanese". Thanks for your help.
