As a Dodgers fan, I'm more bummed than anything regarding Walker leaving. Any longtime Dodgers fan knows, Walk was EXTREMELY HYPED up throughout his first handful of years. The LA media machine had appointed him the next great Dodgers pitcher who would eventually take the mantle from Kershaw. It became so set in stone that it didn't even matter what he was actually doing on the field; because he's just so goddamn good that it'd be impossible for him to not end up winning cy youngs and reaching the hof... so yeah, anyway, dudes an awesome pitcher and I hope he stays healthy and reaches the level he's always been capable of, barring injuries.
Freal. As a dodger fan I’m gonna miss my dawg. Walker would’ve signed the QO since it was literally the same amount as the Red Sox deal. I guess LA trying to upgrade in all areas that they thought they could improve on
Agreed. I wanted WB, Kiké, and Teoscar back, which may be sentimental but not indefensible. Any actual surplus of starters could’ve been alluring trade chips for later in the season.
Mets also have Jose Butto who moved to the pen, but threw 7 starts, over 5 innings per starts, slightly over a 3 ERA. Brandon Sproat, the top prospect, is also probably debuting this year It's not a sexy rotation, obviously, but each of these dudes have upside.
Also, Abreu was 36, and there were clear indications the prior year that his bat had declined. Walker is two years younger than Abreu was (turns 34 the day after Opening Day), and there really aren’t any significant indications of meaningful decline. He did struggle a bit after he returned from a strained oblique in September, but his pre-injury data looks totally fine, and the only issues in his post-injury data are a lower barrel rate and launch angle, which seem likely related to the oblique (his September hard-hit rate was his highest of the season otherwise).
1. Francisco Lindor SS 2. Mark Vientos 1B 3. Juan Soto RF 4. Francisco Alvarez C 5. Brandon Nimmo LF 6. Starling Marte DH 7. Luis Angel Acuna 2B 8. Ronny Mauricio 3B 9. Jose Siri CF
Red sox still have $30M to spend before hitting the first CBT threshold, curious to see if they spend all of it to round out the roster. Could use a bullpen piece and a RH bat, not sure they'll wanna pay for Teoscar.
Difference between the Mets 2023 and the 2024 Mets is that they now have an identity. Last year getting all pitchers they had upside in a year where they didn’t really know what to expect. NOW they have “infinite money” and a better going for it identity. I don’t think it’s the correct time to take on more projects, instead go and get a Burnes.
Man im just an average baseball fan but all i see is Yankees lost one of best hitter who banged 40 homers and replaced him with a bunch of pitchers and a washed up 1B and an Average Bellinger.
Phillies dream scenario to me is move Trea to the OF where he was pretty good back in ‘16 then sign Ha-Seong Kim at SS. Improves OF offense with Marsh, Trea, and Casty/Kep while also vastly improving IF defense
@ Just repeating what I saw reported the other day on Foul Territory. 🤷🏽♂️ However, as a Mets fan, I’m perfectly happy to watch him butcher plays at short. 😉
I’m not a Red Sox fan but no way Sandoval Buehler and crochet and gonna change their team around. The only good pitcher there is crochet, Buehler was an extreme overpay, and Sandoval won’t pitch this year.
Boston being better than the Orioles is ridiculous, Baltimore got the injury bug hard last year especially in pitching. If they get one reliable starter then they are even with the Yankees and ahead of the Red Sox
Red Sox glazing is nuts. They have an elite rotation? Oh you mean same as last year? And they didn’t address their main problem which is hitting? Oh wait it got even worse? They didn’t resign their best hitter Tyler O’Neil? Claiming they’re better this year is nuts.
Dodgers fan here and let me say that Cole/Fried is better than Crochett/Buehler. Buehler has the track record of being a stud,, same with Cole and Fried. Buehler hasn’t been healthy and I wish him the best. Crochett, maybe I’m just not knowledgeable, but he has 1/2 a season as an ace.
Yankees just gambling with these player hoping for a bounce back year to replace one of best hitters in the game. Man idk why we decided to replace Soto with another Ace and a closer lmao
Trev opened this ep talking CRAZY
This is a common misconception. The term "bukkake" is actually when a person is ejaculated on by multiple people. So nothing weird
I wasn’t ready
Technically, it just means "splash" in Japanese. No word if there was any splashing in Jake's mom's basement.
0:47 Trev wildin within the first minute 😂
I almost spit out my water😂
A skeet skeet of signings 😆
A Christmas Bukkake of signings, just what the doc ordered 🎄
Trev's been in every mom's basement
Trev hitting us with Bukkake a minute in, to ring in the Holidays🎅🏻😂
TREV YOU CAN'T SAY THAT 🤣

WOAH Trev comin in hot - less than a minute in and we're at NC-17 baby! let's goooooo
Trev out here being the real stocking stuffer this holiday season
trevor plouffe is a rockstar for his commentary
As a lifelong Red Sox fan I completely agree with you jake when the Red Sox and Yankees are both good its peak baseball dude
Agreed as a yanks fan. Baseball doesn’t feel right when either one of us are not competitive
Just started listening to this a week or so ago, love the show.
Trev came in HOT
This guy has the best Boston accent I have ever heard! This has become my favorite baseball podcast. Hands down!
Stove is hot boys!! Can’t wait to talk some ball. Trev no way man cant be doing that 🤣🤣
Bro says earmuffs for shit and then drops a bukake lmao
Excuse me - a WHAT of signings?
a 👻🐓🔑, sir
@@tinkutocqueville🤣
Bukkake of what?
of signings, if you will
a WHAT of signings???
A skeet skeet of signings
Saying what's actually on your mind is why people are here. Genuine, original, and unfiltered. Just like 1940's cigarettes
God damn Trevor full of sound bites on this one
ESPN did a podcast about Ricky in independent ball, highly recommended.
Love hearing the word "bukkake" 2 days before Christmas
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! WOO

With these two, every move is great.
@3:45 kinda sad the dodgers couldnt match that kind of one year deal. Buehler is a proven October dawg. Gonna miss havin him
Freal. As a dodger fan I’m gonna miss my dawg. Walker would’ve signed the QO since it was literally the same amount as the Red Sox deal. I guess LA trying to upgrade in all areas that they thought they could improve on

Somehow slept on is that Boston has arguably the best farm system in ball rn
i love the new font!!!
A fat load of signings amirite
At 50 sec. mark Trevor whoops out the old, "Bukaki of signings." 😆
Really hoping Goldy has a huge season for NY
Mets also have Jose Butto who moved to the pen, but threw 7 starts, over 5 innings per starts, slightly over a 3 ERA. Brandon Sproat, the top prospect, is also probably debuting this year

Let that man talk Jake.
What is trev trying to say about max Kepler???
The big difference between the Walker and Abreu deals is Abreu was a terrible defender and Walker is as good as it gets
Also, Abreu was 36, and there were clear indications the prior year that his bat had declined. Walker is two years younger than Abreu was (turns 34 the day after Opening Day), and there really aren’t any significant indications of meaningful decline. Rickey with the new base stealing rules would have been a cheat code.
1. Francisco Lindor SS
2. Mark Vientos 1B
3. Juan Soto RF
4. Francisco Alvarez C
5. Brandon Nimmo LF
6. Starling Marte DH
7. Luis Angel Acuna 2B
8. Ronny Mauricio 3B
9. Jose Siri CF
You wouldn’t wanna bat Soto second?
@ having Soto behind vientos gives vientos better pitches to hit
@ true good idea
ALONSO IS THE FINAL PLUG UN THE OFFENSE
Red sox still have $30M to spend before hitting the first CBT threshold, curious to see if they spend all of it to round out the roster. Could use a bullpen piece and a RH bat, not sure they'll wanna pay for Teoscar.

This suck man. I’m going to miss Buehler😔 my ace forever
Free Trevor Bauer
Rickey stole 130 in 1982
With today's rules he could have stolen 200
Man im just an average baseball fan but all i see is Yankees lost one of best hitter who banged 40 homers and replaced him with a bunch of pitchers and a washed up 1B and an Average Bellinger.
You can say middle tier Jake.. they're fuckin middle tier. Facts are facts .
Red Sox maybebought by basos Amazon owner soon!
Beyond happy the mets brought back My Tribal Cheif ☝🏻💙🧡
0:51 can I change my name to signings :3. I'll even go to Jake's mom's basement
Phillies dream scenario to me is move Trea to the OF where he was pretty good back in ‘16 then sign Ha-Seong Kim at SS. Improves OF offense with Marsh, Trea, and Casty/Kep while also vastly improving IF defense
Apparently he hates playing the outfield.
@ well everybody else hates watching him butcher plays at short
@ Just repeating what I saw reported the other day on Foul Territory. 🤷🏽♂️ However, as a Mets fan, I’m perfectly happy to watch him butcher plays at short. 😉
Mets need 1 more arm and 1 more bat. Then they’ll be ready to compete they’re right there and it’s still December. Let’s go Mets!
Only kind of arm they need is if there's RP, or lucky enough to land Roki
Besides that small chance of Roki the Mets are done with the rotation
No more starters are coming. 1 more bat for sure
I’m not a Red Sox fan but no way Sandoval Buehler and crochet and gonna change their team around. The only good pitcher there is crochet, Buehler was an extreme overpay, and Sandoval won’t pitch this year.
30:59 PAUSEEEEWEE
Boston being better than the Orioles is ridiculous, Baltimore got the injury bug hard last year especially in pitching. If they get one reliable starter then they are even with the Yankees and ahead of the Red Sox
Agreed but I don’t think they’ll get that starter now that burns went to Arizona
They don’t want you to know about YANKS15
Red Sox glazing is nuts. They have an elite rotation? Oh you mean same as last year? And they didn’t address their main problem which is hitting? Oh wait it got even worse? They didn’t resign their best hitter Tyler O’Neil? Claiming they’re better this year is nuts.

Crochett, maybe I’m just not knowledgeable, but he has 1/2 a season as an ace.
Cause 1 yr 21.05 mil isn’t life changing money Jake…
Yankees just gambling with these player hoping for a bounce back year to replace one of best hitters in the game. Man idk why we decided to replace Soto with another Ace and a closer lmao
I dont think trev knows what that word mean lmao
Your mom goes to college.
Dodgers trade lux to Phillies?
For who?
For the algo
You guys giving Bergman way too much credit he’s on the decline he isn’t top tier anymore
Its ironic that Jake is in a basement because that's where his Yankees will be with all these old dudes they keep signing
Rangers
