Yes I loved Rt.66 & Dragnet &Adam 12 I watched them all & as a kid &now I'm in my 70's & still watching Marty & George were a great match for Rt.66 they were great both will be missed now both in heaven together RIP.
Note - Milner's name on Adam -12 was Pete Malloy! I've only seen episodes when The Decades Channel played a binge of it. One key point they seemed to not care about in continuity was the Corvette Martin Milner drove! In the early episodes it was noted that the car "was the last thing his father gave him" and then for some reason Chevrolet decided to change the car model to an upgraded model year!
Correct. Chevrolet, a major sponsor of the series, saw Route 66 as a major vehicle (pardon the lame pun) in promoting the newest Corvette every model year.
I remember Route 66. I used to watch it. I enjoyed it. And loved both characters who played against Martin Milner . Dang those were the best years of my life. Thank you for jostling my memories again. You are good at that. That's why I love your stories 😊
I enjoyed watching this show when first broadcast but the episodes were way over my adolescent head. Years later I picked up the boxed set and found the episode: “Walk with the Serpent” filmed in Boston’s North End (where we lived) my dad and I stood by in a crowd watching the camera crew film this section of the episode in the park where Paul Revere’s statue is located. I was a young boy watching as this was taking place then once the scene was over I remembered everyone in the crowd applauding the actors for their performance not realizing this was being filmed for TV. I was too young to know if the major actors were there but remember it was a big deal due to the crowd that was there. Watching the episode today reminded me how much the neighborhood I grew up in has changed.
Get your kicks on Route 66. This and Them Came Bronson were my favorites from the by gone era. The reason I bought Harley throughout my life. Still own one and still ride.
Always enjoyed this show..Liked all the actors but that car had a star of its own!!Great scripts, and the song" Get your kicks on Route 66" was written by Bobby Troupe fellow actor on Emergency!!From Lancaster Pa!!Thanks 4 the info
I was a huge fan of Route 66 and I related equally to both original characters. Didn't like it much when George Maharis left. His energy was greatly missed. There was no replacement for him.
Wow George Maharis lived to be 95? I should be so lucky. This documentary claimed he was born in 1928. And died in 2023 from his long time ailment Hepatitus. Can I have some of that as well?
I’ve been a Huge fan of Martin Milner and Adam 12. I’ve always wanted to meet him and I got to do so in Dallas,Tx at a fan greet. He’s charming and very friendly. Not to mention very handsome And sexy❤️
I loved the show when I was a pre teen and in my early teens. Always liked Milner and Maharis. Corbett's presence in the show the show was not long enough to make a lasting impression. Adam 12 was a very good show but is was a routine type show and did not have much violence in it, mostly cops carrying on with a routine job that at times could get dangerous.

I am 81 yrs. I loved the series when it was on, and love the reruns today. Thanks for posting.
The Route 66 theme by Nelson Riddle was my favorite tune of the early 60s. Martin and George will be forever remembered for their great acting.
