Nobody in this show takes murder seriously. It's a wonder why they hid from the drones in the first place.
They seem to care about self-preservation and "family members" only, but working together was the best way to survive individually? Or indifference is like a programmed-in coping mechanism of the drones if you want to try to find legitimate lore reasons beyond it just being the humor of the show.
Based on episode 5 we see tyat humans dismantle and kill them on the fly so they are are accustomed to moving alone with their day after someone dies that isnt a friend or family as tge person above stated.

@matth600 Great points. It's pretty jarring from a human perspective, but they aren't human. Even when talking about the family members they lost (like how Khan had to use his wrench to put Nori out of her misery), most seem able to avoid the potentially crippling trauma a human would experience. Doll and Uzi are the only two that seem at all interested in revenge, and Uzi switched gears pretty quickly from killing murder drones to going after humanity (maybe Cyn's influence?).
To be fair, in the far future the easiest way to hiding secerts might be putting the information on a VHS tape that no one can play.

My guess is that it's an archived copy. A lot of the times, older formats are used for that since they last longer than digital with the right care and there's no risk of data loss if the tape isn't damaged.
Also, to steal the information, you'd need to steal the find the tape and then go through the effort of pilfering it.
I'd think a floppy disc would be better, as they are more fragile, and less recognisable.

Nux is actualy picking up on the lore of this show like way better than any other reactor.
In nux defence people like him actually care about writing and premise of the show. Granted to have to like the vibe of the pilot first.
Episode 2 has the most weak points where the show is concerned cuz the slap stick comedy kinda bit overdone to the point it detracts from lore investment and taking the threat of elderitch j serious like how it just let thad go for no reason just for comedy.
Once you get past episode 2 the episodes do get much better

Theory: Right in the end of the pilot episode, N said to Uzi than the sun would kill him. And now Uzi it's also weak to the sun, that means Disassembly Drones are most likely repurposed Worker Drones who were infected by the Absolute Solver. I think that's why Tessa's face can not be seen in the 6th chapter, using the reflection of N and V faces to depict the face she should be doing according to her words, but inside that helmet, she's making a whole different expression, knowing Syn it's inside all of them
*Spoilers* Well, we kind of know some of this already. In the flashbacks to earth V N and J are configured like worker drones with no wings or tails and skinnier arms / legs. Once Cyn infects V at the mansion she gets fleshy wings and a fleshy claw similar to Uzi. Also, we know there are physical cyn/absolute solver parasites in the disassembly drones from episode 2 and episode 6 which allow them to rebuild themselves even if their entire upper body is destroyed. They don't seem to have the absolute solver infecting their programming though because they don't seem to be able to create/bend matter like Uzi and Doll.
All disassembly drones (and Uzi and maybe Doll) run at a much, _much_ higher temperature than basic worker drones (you can see an overheat warning in Uzi's visor once or twice), and direct exposure to sunlight probably cooks their (very organic) insides, which then melts their outer chassis.
Disassembly drones run hot. This gives them the vampiric qualities of needing to feed off workers drones to cool themselves down with their oil and makes sunlight dangerous to them. The active Absolute Solver in Doll and Uzi has a similar effect, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are exactly the same thing.

First off, we know V, J and N used to be Worker Drones, and in the next chapter we see how V create claws and wings, and most important, the fact that inside N and V's program there's a part of Cyn actively suppressing their memories makes me think they were "infected" before.
or the solver was made to corrupt workers into dissassembly, but they turned out violent towards humans as seen in [redacted] event involving Syn, so I belive that regular dissasembly drones are artificial recreations of the Solver Drones. one that wont lash out against humans, and are perfect corporate hitmen.

I do like that they're trying to give Uzi's dad a bit more depth. There's a couple of senes where he's trying to connect with her and be a more responsible parent that most people seem to just gloss over. He's still a dirty coward for leaving her like that in the first episode, but it does seem like the people at Glitch are trying to give him a mini redemption arc.
To be fair it was not just Uzi but he did not have confidence in his own abilities aside doors. he did not know the capabilities of the weapon and would not be competent in using it even if he did.
Also he had to think of the other drones too. unknown whether he knew of the issue with the ventilation shaft bypassing the door.
he was deep, just by not being deep. by only caring about the doors that protect them at first, it shows his attachment to the one thing that he did right. as he realises his obsession with the doors and his immence cowardace got Uzi 'killed', he tries to fix what he broke, and by this point, realises it would be better to not get involved. quite a complex arc for a man who had a door fetish, eh?

Alright... Unpopular analysis, perhaps the reason Khan left her daughter was because of the trauma of him ending his wife or murder drones killing his wife. That trauma of watching your loved ones die in front of you often leaves you paralyze, running or hesitationg.
Hence why in episode 2, even though N is a hologram, he instructed Uzi to shoot, but Uzi got so traumatized due to her father pseudo-dying, it hesitates to shoot and gave it to N.
It happens in real-life too. Hence why when Khan arrived to the scene, Uzi hugged him coz she realized why her father failed her before.
Now all we need is the beach episode and this show is truly peak lmao.

Out of all the episodes, this one is probably my favorite. The music, the character design for Solver Uzi, the atmosphere, the humor, everything about this episode I absolutely loved.
These reactions get me hype each time, it's the perfect combination, a psychopath and a psychopath show.

Doubtful, seeing as they existed before the revolt (evidenced by their appearance in the following flashblack episode). I'm thinking that they're a multipurpose autonomous personal assistant and clean-up/salvage unit.
I too, Nux, am glad we live in a universe where we have Murder Drones. The idea of the pilot episode just languishing away in a forgotten corner of RUclips is way too sad. Also, your "schlorp" is on point, very impressive.

Glitch knows how to make good shows. Meta Runner, a top tier show and probably the best visualisation on how gaming can be like in a few milenia. Sunset Paradise, more of a show to watch when you watch their main channel SMG4, but still a fun show. And lastly, Murder Drones, one of the best shows I have seen in a while and they know how to create something special. They know how to make horror, and they know how to ease it down when it needs to. They can do some slight romance, or bromance, without having it too focused, they are just the GOATS of 3D animation! And they mainly use GMod for their main channel!

5:56 I know this is weeks old but to answer the question about the cockroach bots, I always viewed them as reclaiming technology, something that breaks down, broken machinery, to recycle what can be used later at some manufacturing plant when people used to be around.
I love the show, but I feel the weird time skips between episodes is the most problematic element, everything else is forgivable to me.
Yeh it weird even when el 5 came yeh we learn n past their mansion people one question how the hell v and n got hack by cyn there is not even explain or tell thankfully they do not timeskip in ep 6
It feels a little jarring, but I think it's supposed to add to the mystery aspect of the show and is meant to make people rewatch episodes once they understand the context. Like the first time you watch you're just trying to figure out where you are and what's going on, then you watch a second time to figure out what clues you missed while you were just trying to figure out what the hell was going on.
That's pretty much my main issue, the pacing does suffer quite a bit with the jumps. The episode count is probably to blame, some things like Uzi becoming a Murder Drone don't get much self-reflection past the debut episode likely due to a lack of time to slow down.
Indeed. While the narrative is... passable... the world building suffers. Which can keep people from being immersed in the story.
I find that it does keep me immersed in the story. I like to go back and find clues or information that I missed as to what is happening.
If the show spelled everything out, it wouldn't have that mystery element to it.

I feel like a lot of stakes were lowered in this episode, I still love the show, but the way that everyone is so casual about V killing the campers and no one saying anything about it. (It was in character for the teacher but it still felt weird for everyone else)
The show is just honest about the audience's true feelings when it comes to the death of side characters and uses that honesty as an opportunity for humor by transposing that apathy onto characters in the show. It's basically a version of 4th wall breaking for comedic effect. It still tries to maintain the stakes when it comes to the main 5 or so characters. Whether or not the show balances that well is up for debate.

That true like ive heard audience ramble and complain that there are no stakes if main characters arent at deaths door or dying off. Background and innocents could get slaughtered and people would still say the show has no stakes/ covenient happy ending.
Like i wonder if people ever think or realize that sometimes a main cast is written to be the random sample of people that survive a high stakes event.

This series runs on what I charitibly call "Futurama Logic". There is a large amount of effort put into continunity, the science used and callbacks, while characters act as you'd expect them to... As well as times where everything gets thrown out a 20 story window for a funny joke. Here, the Worker Drones don't seem to care that a dozen or so kids were killed on a field trip or even question it. It has to be ignored for the plot to work so they just kind of smooth over that.

VHS is so robots can't just instantly read it. Nux, you need to remember in the first episode that the reason the Murder Drones need oil from the workers is so they don't overheat. Also, in episode 2, N mentioned that Murder Drones needed to stay out of sunlight or it kills them.
Btw, this one is based on movies like Friday the 13th and Cabin Fever, and it shows. It feels like Uzi is Jason in this episode. She has her own absolute solver.
The different solver symbols do mean different things glitch has a community post that explains it better than I ever could but it basically boils down to translate, rotate, scale, and edit

I think N has super strength, since none of the other characters have ever accomplished the feats he has. That was probably one of the flaws he had as a worker drone. The flawed and to be decommissioned drones all has yellow bands on their arms. You see that in the flashback of episode 2.
