Hindu Academy aims to promote a Comprehensive and Rational vision of Hinduism incorporating ideas of Religious Pluralism, Spiritual Humanism, and resonance between Science and Spirituality. It operates with the education establishments by working with schools colleges and universities as well as in the mainstream media.
The role and relevance of Hinduism in contemporary society
Hinduism has a great deal to contribute towards the spiritual health of the modern world. Its inherent pluralistic teachings offer the best resolution to how people of different religions can co-exist peacefully in a multi-faith society. Hinduism even allows for spirituality to be explored in non-religious modes, making teachings relevant and interesting for the youth of today. Family values promoted by Hinduism can foster more stable family units and better community cohesion. The reconciliation between the truth claims of a science-oriented worldview and a religiously oriented worldview is obligatory in this century. The Hindu Academy invokes findings at the cutting edge of modern sciences to promote this reconciliation.

It seems Bharatiyas have understood only this much about Shri Adi Shankara. He neither "just" preached to the "elite" nor did he have a "small heart" which is not a foolish but a disastrous statement to make against Paramaatma Shri Mahadev Shiv Shambo himself who himself had reincarnated to protect Sanatana Dharma. If Shri Adi Shankara Bhagavatpadaal only discoursed with the 'elite', then why in Rama's name would he ask Bhavati Bhikshaandehi from a common woman in one of the houses in the streets of Kalady ? And why would he compose the legendary Sri Kanakadhara Stotram 🙏.
Matter is this, Indians forget the "context" of arrival of Shri Adi Shankara. Once all these Stotrams, teachings and music is composed the result is going to go to the people of the land ? Is it not ? These stotrams and Bhakthi Ganam are being recited and sung respectively by almost every Sanatani household in Bharat ! That is it. There was no need for Adi Shankara to "create or propagate" a mass following. It is like asking : "Why did Bhagwan Shri Krishna only teach Shri Arjuna the Bhagavad Gita" ?
By blessing with Jnana, the 'correct people', entire Bharat will get knowledge and till now no one has forgotten legacy of Shri Adi Shankara. It is not pity but disaster that our own public think of Shri Adi Shankara in this way. Sanatana Dharma has too many content but "simple at core". The Foreigners exploited the external complexity to create a "complex" in minds of Bharatiyas to reject their own paramparas and scriptures.

Did Adi Shankara ever say that only the son of a Brahmin is qualified to learn the Vedas, whereas the son of a Shudra is not. Plzz clarify this. There's a lot of misunderstanding regarding this.

Dear sir please read the life and writing of Shankaracharya carefully not through the emotional subjective comment of Vivekananda . You will find a ocean of compassion in him . In Traditional prayer it is said that
He is karunaalayam and lokashankaram .

Buddhism is nothing but ideas taken from Upanishads. There are no separate entities/thoughts. All of the ideas are manifested from Dharmic scriptures itself. In Buddhism, they do Pooja. They have fruits offerings. They have a prayer plate. All of the rituals to spiritual aspects are all present. Since Dharmic scriptures were soooooo vast. That specializing in 1 aspect was easy. And spirituality aspect makes more sense to some people over other aspects.

@@Gstar999 according to Patanjali, the 5 kleshas are the root of suffering, one of those kleshas being desire/craving. This is not far off from Buddhism.

The fake story about 'Rāvana': There are no written texts or good evidence to prove the existence of a king called 'Rāvana' in Sri Lanka.! A lot of Hindus say "Rām Nām Sathya Hai (English: The name of Rāma is real)" at funerals, but it sounds like there was a doubt about it between some people.! There is a Buddhist story (JĀTAKA No.461) about two sons 'Rama-paṇḍita', 'Lakkhaṇa' and a daughter 'Sītā' with another son 'Bharata' from another queen of an imperial family. Hinduism and Jainism mentioned a similar but a different story about a prince called Rāma. The Buddhist story doesn't seem to belong to our human generation, and some Jātaka stories are older than an aeon (a Maha Kapla), but both Hindu and Jain stories were talking about our human generation. And if the Buddhist story is older than other stories, then that new stories sounds like indirect efforts to make the Buddha an Avatar of Vishnu, because Rama-paṇḍita was a Bodhisattva (a previous life of the Buddha), but Hindu Rāma was an Avatars of Vishnu. And the word avatar only appears in developed forms in post-Vedic literature.
Jain canonical works (oldest Jain texts) were composed around the 5th or 3rd century BCE (Eg: 'Ācārāṅga Sūtra' between 5th-4th century BCE; 'Sūtrakṛtāṅga Sūtra' between 4th-3rd century BCE;), and written almost after the enlightenment of the Buddha, but mentioned a story which was similar to the Buddhist JĀTAKA story No.461, and included Rāvaṇa into the story (maybe from from Vedas) while changing 'Sītā' from sister to wife of Rāma. It sounds like some people developed a new history. Some texts of Jainism are based on Upanishads which were written in Sanskrit, but all the written Sanskrit texts are not older than 500 BC. There are no enough details in Buddhism about Jainism to compare it with Buddhism, but Jainism has a lot of details to compare with Buddhism which sounds like that Jainism is a later development, and the name of the founder of Jainism 'Mahavira' not clearly mentioned in early Buddhist texts, but Buddhism mentioned about a group of naked monks called 'Nigaṇṭha' (Nigaṇṭha means "without knot, tie, or string"), and the founder of that group 'Nigaṇṭha Jñātaputta' who Jainism declare as 'Mahavira', but we can see a big difference between Jainism and Nigaṇṭha group. According to early Jainism "wearing of certain clothes appears to have been allowed to the weaker members of the order". But after the influence of Buddhism and other forces "they abandon the rule of nakedness and to adopt the white dress," and therefore Buddhism is older than modern Jainism, and we can't trust some historical claims about Jainism (Eg: about the life of Mahavira) which don't have references in Buddhism. - Suresh
Just study more about the political side of religions to understand the developments of religions.

The information about mahavira not mentioned in buddisam text so what is the problem. U think if any enlightenment person or historical figures mentioned in Buddhist text it is true and real
What nonsense u r talking like this lakhani about he talking sankara. Of course vedas not written in 500bce but it written In 5000bce . Because the proof of this was from saraswathi river. How u know .scientists are awaring and proved about saraswathi river existence and it drained out in 5000bce it is flowing under the desert bed. So it's existence was also clear that river was existed 7000 years from now and vedas mentioned saraswathi before its disappearance from the eyes of all humans and creatures of all . But in buddisam no saraswathi river mentioned in any of text. Meanwhile buddisam is younger brother are son or daughter to shanathana dharma. There many proofes of existence of hinduisam 20,000 years back . Of course hinduisam is also the branch like jaina and buddha in shanathana dharma. We are like brothers and sisters in dharmic religions of shanathana dharma. Shanathana dharma also called has vedic religion it is 50,000 years old . Hinduisam is manifested by vedic religion or evolved in new forms with other bhakti movements. But hinduisam is elder brother to both jaina and buddha and why should we want to fight like enemies. Last thing 1st elder bro Hindu 2nd janina 3rd buddha so buddisam is younger to both of us.

Bodhisattva doesn't mean a past life of Buddha. What are you talking about? Bodhisattvas are individuals on the path to enlightenment (in this life). Also haven't you heard of the concept of Kalpa Bheda? There were many Rams in many Kalpas. That's why there are so many different versions of the Ramayana.
