James took great care of his voice. Sounds KILLER!

Adrian Guardiola He doesn't have any Grandkids yet, and besides all his kids under 20 as of now.
Tarun Gopalakrishnan, you didn’t get the joke. James Hetfield said, “In the words of my father...” Since he calls himself “Papa Het,” it follows that his father would be “Grandpa Het”; hence the quote by "Grandpa Het."
words to live by ..

i kinda sucks when you have to explain a joke like this to someone , doesn't it
i just came off another channel where one bloke called James, Master of Masters
and another idiot commented by saying
it's Master of Puppets
hehe, No, Duhhh
some people just dont' get it
@@ADRNG
hehe, No, i agree
he wasn't being a douche or a dickhead, i understand
i'm just saying, a joke it's funnier when everyone understands it and you don't have to explain it
like,
Slaytanica
I am the Table
And Jason for all
Pappa Hett
Alcoholica
etc...
if a person is a metallica fan, they should know these things, that's all i'm saying .
and yeah, it's not a big deal, it is , Whatever, but still... it's always better if someone can understand the joke , without having some explain it and if they can just roll with it , and it's funnier that way
that's all i'm saying
any whoo...... ALL GOOD DUDE, BE COOL, ROCK ON \m/

this must be a reference to the day that never comes
😆
I love how he now says "hell" and even "heck" -- a sure sign that his children are back stage. Even rock stars don't like to cuss in front of their kids. Remarkable.
Their kids are all around 20 years old or so, I'm sure they've heard much worse
I prefered his late 80's behavior on stage
I remember when they said the word fuck all the time, now they try to be gentler in their live performances.
I was honestly thrown off when he didn't say "how I'm fucking you" on Master of Puppets on S&M2. Not that the song needs swearing to be good. Just got used to the more explicit version.
@@martyschriver and say much worse at that
At 9:29 is when James raised his hand asking cliff for a pick
Cliff- Hey James I think that you will need this *gives the pick to James*
James- Thanks man
god... that guy has been dead for more than 30 years... GET OVER IT ffs...
Juan Contreras, Dude, it’s just humour, we know he is dead but it is all in good fun and keeping his memory alive in humorous ways

@@JuanPabloContrerasC wow, you're a terrible person
"fffffffffffffffffffffheck yeah we are hehhe" man james is the best
James saw some children in the audience thats probably why fffheck yeah
He's toned down his cussing on stage. I think mostly due to him having kids.
@eniatsuM evaD literally called people names, cussed everyone out and said "fuck" in almost song hahahah. Drinking and being a raging maniac helps out with that tho
People are saying that Lars should of stayed at his own drums but I think it's cool how they all played it together!
I know I'm 1 year later but, Hey Army :D
Yea totally it shows that they are a family
Its cool they do things different
I definitely agree!
I'm saying you should have used "have" instead.

9:24 - 9:31 , how to be drummer, bassist and guitarist at the same time
🤣🤣🤣
It's awesome to see James having this amount of fun!
This is the best song on the album in terms of live playing. It's so simple, groovy, and bouncy. It's perfect for live shows.
Trent Carr for my opinion the best song they can play live is lords of summer
and they played it here with a killer tone, AND KIRK PLAYED THE SOLO VERY WELL, beautiful.
Agreed. A great live song. Otherwise, I think its lame... as with much of Shitwired...To So Fuckedestruct.
Katana2097 you didn’t like hardwired album it was good man like spit out the bone halo on fire here comes revenge
@@slimshady5088 I thought it was good too! You can't please them all as they say.
Reporter: “Do you think Lars is the best drummer in the world?”
Het: “He’s not even the best drummer in Metallica.”
This is so funny for so many reasons... more people need to like this.. it's like their classic dynamic, but it seems like Het was trying so hard and Lars was like awe that's cute... but the fact that Lars even did it was like "lets humor Lars"... and in the end it was fun but like a happy days fuckin reunion... even though I like Metallica now that they have figured out there rolls more than I ever did in their stereo-typical past... its like... they are their own spinal tap but it's too late to fight it... that could easily be a real interview or not... who cares lol
@@justinhuber5210 its actually a Beatles reference: Lennon, when answering a question on Ringo. ;)
@@trevorjalla that's great! I forgot about that, but that just adds to the layers of this comment's irony for this video... thanks for the reminder though!
Lars is a legend 🤘🤘🤘
Lmao
Even songs you might not like much on an album, end up sounding amazing live with these guys.
I agree!, I was at this concert and before hearing it love. I really didnt like atlas flame or Moth into the flame. But they are some of my favorites now!
Best band in the world
St. Christopher load reload st anger I disagree and I love Metallica
What? Load and Reload are great records. Just because they're not metal does not mean they are bad. St. Anger tho...
well said problem of are metal fans not metallica fans
-T-X-M- I don't agree with St. Anger. Load and reload have great songs and a lot of filler tracks too.
Euphoric Onion St.anger songs don't should be played live becouse Fans need to listen the best of the band before the retirement. Fans needs the old classic and amazing Hetfield amp tone or at least a very good guitar tone like in 1996 to 2004, not this slightly above average heavy rock guitar tone.
I will say, the drum solo part is really cool if you're at the show, it might not translate as well in the video but it was killer at the show I went to in Atlanta
Joshb6498 I agree 100% I was also at the Atlanta show and it fucking rocked!
Joshb6498 I also went to the ATL show! I loved every second of it. They need to come back very soon.
Yea it was awesome.
I WENT TO THAT SHOW
Didnt like the tom rolls at the intro, sounded like bongos
If you can play and look like this Live 30 plus years later in your 60s , you proved your the Baddest Band in the Planet!
James sounds so fucking good here. And just these recent years, honestly. His voice sounds rejuvinated.
Metallica knows how to entertain people!!! I love this focking band!!!
I love seeing James all happy and shit. I hope we see you soon back and stronger than ever. We need you out here brother
Actually best band in the universe❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
These guys have every show they play filmed professionally, it’s crazy, and crazy expensive I’m sure
It's nice to see that nobody has their phones out.
6:36
Mr Satan jajaja one!!!!!
Ej Beast totally agree, dude.
are you blind ?
it is a little bit useless to record their concert, when all what they do is recorded by them
Look at their expression while playing... I can die in peace..!
Long live Metallica 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
james energy is strong and healthy. glad he looks good and sounds great. glad we've had this band for nearly 40 years.
I can say with confidence that Metallica is very likely the worlds biggest band
In terms of the sound my opinion is
#1 Dream Theater
#2 Metallica
#3 Opeth
#4 Tool
#5 Slipknot
As far as just the biggest bands in rock and metal, the top 3 are
1. Kiss
2. AC/DC
3. Metallica
Alive, yes, of all time, it’d be Led Zeppelin no doubt, (I consider the Beatles like pop rock, otherwise it’d be them) if we’re talking alive then Metallica has it in the bag no doubt
I think it’s queen?
@@brnaneo1847 debatable
This was really cool to see everyone on the drums!
I came here mostly for 6:15-9:20
And at 8:06-8:36 for James' "marching band" snare drum solo
Marc Andrew Narimatsu me too
The song itself is pretty awesome too but that drum part was pretty much what I'm here for as well, I saw them do it when they came to Philly and it was pretty epic in person
Also up the irons blood brother 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Brent Bowman
Nice, I wish I saw them live this year. A lot of people say that the "drum circle" part was boring. Its not boring but it's a tad bit too long (near the ending), but it still kept me interested because they were ambitious and it sounded pretty cool, not to mention it also fits the song beautifully. Also:
We're Blood Brothers.
I saw Iron Maiden over two months ago with Ghost and they were both amazing.
Marc Andrew Narimatsu I missed Iron Maiden when they came through Philly (mainly because I was broke from the Metallica show) and I think Philly got the best deal, Volbeat got an extended set, Metallica gave us a great Setlist, and A7x came back for a free show for the people at the Metallica show when they had to cancel their appearance
Brent Bowman
That's cool. I really hope Metallica announce another North American leg for next year. They're my all time favorite band and I never seen them live. I bet Avenged Sevenfold was a great opening act for them (I know that they didn't perform with them in Philadelphia because Synyster (the lead guitarist) had a newborn baby at that point), but I think A7X would've made it on their own if they headlined huge stadiums and arenas. I don't like Volbeat, but they were lucky to have an extended set. Also Gojira supported Metallica on the North American leg throughout the later dates (Rose Bowl (lucky btw), Seattle, Vancouver, Edmonton, etc.), and they're a great band, I love their new album.
Kirk is like really afraid to hit those drums... looks like a toddler on a hello kitty drumkit lol
Kirk isnt the drummer. Lars is.
@@jdsimons6115 did you watch the whole video before commenting?
Chuck Dorado more like Mike Portnoy on a hello Kitty drum kit

Why is everyone complaining about the drum part? It was fucking awesome in my opinion!
Metallica just went into Sepultura mode.

Stood against barricade in Pittsburgh. Thrill of my life. Brought my 16 year old who now wears Metallica along with my 10 year old! This live song and drumming is best performance ever. I pray this isn’t their last tour. Um hello commercials at wrong time! But yes, best band in the world and we will never have anyone else even 1% like them. Love all you Metallica family and Metallica. PASS DOWN TO YOUR KIDS SO THEY ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT A BAND IS AND INSTRUMENTS PLUS HEAVY METAL. IT WORKED FOR ME. MY YOUNGEST IS TRYING TO PLAY GUITAR TO THEM SINCE AGE 7!!!!
I am for sure going to see a Metallica concert once this pandemic is over!
it’s gotta happen!
Inshallah
Plandemic.
Wake up, this is all by Design and Never going away unless the people step up.
You’ll be waiting a reallllllly long time. It won’t be “over” until they’ve beheaded every last non complyer to the nonsense mandates and rules in a camp somewhere . Good luck
What, Metallica aren't allowed to do atypical things like those drums midway through? I thought it was great!
I thought the idea was great but not the playing.
Metallica can do what they want, they've earned it. But, the fake Taiko drum thing is so cheesy and unoriginal. They could've spent that 3 minutes playing "Last Caress" or something.
We can afford not only one but four big ass congo drums for no reason other than to feature it during our opening act this year. Hey man I'm not knocking it. I thought it was fucking lame though, I could almost feel Kirk rolling his eyes at the entire thing. Lars and James would be all for it. Robert, well, he has no choice I guess LOL.
They did both in London. At separate times in the gig, mind you.
Nemesis 041
lol James was extra screwy tonight it seems. This show is fucking awesome they killed it all night.
he tends to be a little more kinetic and over the top when he knows its being filmed. Like the Through The Never film, he was going all out, playing to the camera. Which is totally understandable.
I drove 1200 kms ,after a long ,12 hours a day ,work week ,to b at this show ,worth every second
UNDERTAKER
f*ck undertaker. this is METALLICA Men
Kirk's drumming lol
believe me its hard for a guitarist who has not masterd the abillity to play drum to actually play drums. when i play drums it also sounds quite weird ( i ame a guitarist aswell)
Lol he looks awkward rite 🤔🤘🤟🤣
There was mo wah wah
He's just not very physical
He was looking for the wah pedal
Man this was my first concert ever and I can still feel the electricity in my bones watching this clip 🤘🇨🇦
Honestly one of my favorite Metallica performances. The drum section was so cool
I was there and won’t ever forget it. Metallica knows how to rock 🤟🏻
Every time i hear this song i immediately have my devil horns up in the air. Man such a catchy freaking tune. Love Metallica.
Great guitar tone. Really close to their 80's tone
onurfuck are you kidding right?
onurfuck bruh... They started to use the Eb tone in 1995... 1991 & 1994 too if you count "The God That Failed"
Im not. Maybe I exaggerated a little. But the distortıion is pretty decent
Soulinger Spirit Guitar amp tone not guitar tuning.
Nah... This show sounds really digital since they use Axe FX
Seems a lot of people don't like the drum section, I think it's unique and works very well. James is actually very good on the snare.
8:05 James' snare solo
Better than lars btw
lol James forgot his own lyrics in the second verse, he said "when we're seduced" again instead of " when kingdom comes" I don't really blame him he's got so many songs to remember
That might be how it was originally written in the demo
No. No. He really went wrong. He's getting old.
phantumgrey yes that could be true, but I kinda heard him back off like he knew he said the wrong lyrics
Yes, he is human. I've messed up lyrics to song I wrote before, too. No big deal. Hetfield is the MAN and you know it, punk.
You mean so many hits 😉
I love this song. I love it.
Heyyy I was at that concert!
Commonwealth stadium was the perfect venue for that!
It's so great to see a good band out there that still hasn't all died from drug addiction R.I.P Kurt Cobain
Love this, among the best of the new ones!!!
Absolutely killer performance of one of the best songs in that album. So cool to watch them all at the drums at the same time.
I'm in this video a lot. What a great show this was.
The bit with the drums and all, so freaking awesome man. I'm sure the crowd loved it as well.
I was at the concert in Amsterdam. This was one of the coolest parts from a live show i've ever seen in i my life.

Now we are dead my dear we can live forever
This album was sweet killer. It was a blend of black and early years. Gorgeous.
Now that we are dead my dear we can be together now we are dead my dear we can live forever. Beautiful.
I remember when they played this song when I seen them in Vancouver (just 2 days before this show) and when they played this song the mosh pit went insane... And that middle drum section was so heavy and I have never experienced anything like it since. It was so earth shaking and such a fun touch to the show.
This is my favorite Metallica song
# Metallica For Life
When darkness falls, may it be
That we should see the light
When reaper calls, may it be
That we walk straight and right
When doubt returns, may it be
That faith shall permeate our scars
When we're seduced, then may it be
That we not deviate our cause
All sinners, a future
All saints, a past
Beginning, the ending
Return to ash
Now that we're dead, my dear
We can be together
Now that we're dead, my dear
We can live forever
When all is pain, may it be
It's all we've ever known
When flame consumes, may it be
It warms our dying bones
When loss has won, may it be
It's you I'm madly fighting for
When kingdom comes, may it be
We walk right through that open door
All sinners, a future
All saints, a past
Beginning, the ending
Return to ash
Now that we're dead, my dear
We can be together
Now that we're dead, my dear
We can live forever
All sinners, a future
All saints, a past
Beginning, the ending
Return to ash
Now that we're dead, my dear
We can be together
Now that we're dead, my dear
We can live, we can live forever
Return to ashes, shed this skin
Beyond the black, we rise again
We shall live forever
Thank you
