@@willbearheart7919 Thank you. I would disconnect the negative of the battery, but afraid that those Airbags have some capacitors, so they still can get activated somehow.
It could mean the cluster processor itself is bad if there are no gauges, odometer or warning lights but you need to verify good power and ground at the cluster plug. If just the gauges are inoperable then and it happened all at once, scan for codes to see if there are any communication codes since all of these gauges run on serial data.
I have a 1998 Chevy Cavalier that has a thermal problem in a component inside the instrument panel. The lights on the left side of the cluster will not come on unless I apply heat to the component board. When it warms up a bit, the lights come on and the car will start. I will not get ignition unless this happens. Where can I get a replacement?
Hey I have a question.. I have a 2004 Monte Carlo SS and looking for this part u took off .. when I look it up this car comes up .. now they do look the same I just wanna be sure b4 buying it and it be wrong fit some how
You will want to match the part number that is on the back cover of your cluster when replacing but it will also come with whatever mileage the donor vehicle had.
When replacing cluster do you need to reprogram the one you are putting on.. or does it automatically reprogram. Im putting on another used one. Thank you!
Thanks for the vídeo man. I have that problem with my cluster, the odometer is hard to see at night that happened today when I had to remove in pieces the plastic piece behind the dash (it always broke in Cavalier), then I fixed it putting some paint in the metallic part to hide the bad aparience, then the odometer became dark is hard to see in day and night, do you know what is the problem? Is it the led or something more?
There is a lamp located behind the LCD which is soldered into the circuit board that burns out. It is a tricky task to replace without damaging the cluster if you are unfamiliar with it. We use proprietary long life lamps when doing the job.

thanks, helped me replace my instrument panel
You forgot to mention the defroster phillip’s head screw and the 2 - 7mm bolts under it.
Different years and trims may have different fasteners to remove
Replaced the bulb of odometer. Now the needles of the speedometer and RPM are no longer working.
Sounds like the gauges are stuck or not set correctly
@@ClusterFixWashington A friend changed one or 2 bulbs.
Great film, thank you. Before you remove the dash cover, do you need to do any precautions (the Airbag is sitting on the dash)?
No, I’ve had mine off twice now, never messed with the airbags.

Do one for an 02 chevy cavalier
Have a 2002 cavalier LS 2.2 no dash lights or dome lights all gauges work fine. Help
I never see anybody change the part of the dash up by the windsheild. They are always broke
Hi, the lights work fine but all the gauge needles stay down. Fuses look good. Does this mean I need a new cluster? Thanks

Wondering that myself
You prolly already found out or you don’t care anymore, but you DO NOT have to reprogram the clusters in the Cavaliers.
@@willbearheart7919 so nice you came back 2 months later.. God bless
