  • This video provides a summary of pancreatitis assessments and interventions.
    I am Gail L Lupica with over 20 years of experience teaching nursing at the pre-licensure level. I earned a Bachelor Science in Nursing at SUNY Binghamton in 1986, a Master's in Nursing Education in 1992 from New York University (NYU) and a PhD in Adult and Post-Secondary Education in 2011. I have many years of experience in NCLEX-RN test preparation and remediation.

    Why is an increase of serum lipase, amylase indicative of pancreatitis when the enzymes are trapped in the pancreas? Thank you for the video.

    Thanks fot the video. You stated we give morphine for pancreatitis but I thought it was contraindicated? I may be wrong but please feel free to educate me.

    You are correct about the one who explained the pain to you, I was a soldier for six years and have had many "pains" in my life but pancreatitis was by far, the worst. My enzyme levels were around 5,400.

      is it always severe? I have all these symptons but it's not severe just discomfort. I plan to go to the doctor, but currently on contract atm =(

    Thank you very much. It was very informative and in short time span. And the visual is nice as well. It let's me know everything i need to know and look for so i can upstage my game while doing my orientation for work on the med surg floor.
