I prefer to buy watermelons from the back of a pick up truck or a farmers market. The ones they sell at grocery stores don't be sweet at all.
Sounds like it has more about the time of year you buy the watermelon, not the location.

Thanks for teaching me how to pick a sweet watermelon, I will get one in June. You taught me how to can food last year. I canned Chow Chow, Green Beans Potatoes and Bacon, and Peaches. I ate all of them months later and they were still good. The Peaches I used for Peach Cobbler. Never thought I would love canning too, it relaxing and those Green Beans were a meal when I didn't feel like cooking and they tasted just delicious as when I canned them. Your Summer salads are good too. Chef Jeffrey thank you very much for teaching me how to cook so many recipes and how to can food. I am looking forward your cooking videos for the summer.😀

I went to the grocery store 🏬 yesterday to get me a 🍉 and they were all gone.🤦🏽♀️ They were $5 and they went fast. I haven’t had a really good watermelon in a couple of yrs here in Ca. Chef Jeffrey that watermelon looks so sweet.
