- Tower Ladder 85 is currently utilizing a 2001/1999 Seagrave 95' Tower ladder as a Spare while their frontline gets worked on at the Shops. With the recent auctioning off of the last few of the early 2000 Seagrave Tower ladders, it makes this spare the oldest and last early 00s to late 90s Tower Ladder within the spare fleet still being used in spare rotation. Upon the replacement of the rest of the newer 95' Tower Ladders in the coming year or so, this Rig will be auctioned off. This particular 95' has an interesting story shared through photographs & video at the start of the video. Originally Assigned to Tower Ladder 9 in Manhattan the Rig was a 1999 Seagrave 95' Tower Ladder (ST99006). Housed with Engine 33 which had a 1998 Seagrave Pumper which I also did a Walk-Around of ( • *Oldest Pumper in FDNY... ) both Responded to the WTC. Tower Ladder 9 was severely damaged by the collapse of both towers with its cab completely burnt out. A short few months later after having a new cab added & Chassis, the rig went back into service with Ladder 9 as ST01007.

Still In Service As Of 3/5/2023 Click To Watch It Responding! ruclips.net/video/N83xFmgTJMU/видео.html&ab_channel=Fdnyrigs
There's just something awesome about all the old rigs. The way the cab is laid out, the sound of the engine taking off, the old sirens. Love it.
WOW!!! What an Honor it must be to even be inside the Truck that carried the men to the World Trade Center, Literally Living History, Hope they keep this truck in service longer and even then preserve it and it's history
They shouldn't auction it, instead, send it to the 9/11 Muesem.
She's still a beauty after all these years .... She should be saved and restored to all her glory just like in 1999 ... Unfortunately that more than likely won't happen ... Great job on the video brother!
I wonder why they auction these rigs with history. These 9/11 survivors should all be in a museum.
Most likely a cost factor and not enough room to store them. There were I believe over 400 trucks that responded that day, and to store all of the remaining would be a huge logistical issue. Not to mention taking out a bunch of units instead of using them for reserve.
Thank You so much for sharing Ladder 9’s story! We will never for forget any of the 343!
What did he share I heard nothing but the truck running
@@randybaker9265 .... You would know if you watched the video. From reading your comment it seems you only heard the audio aspect of it rather than the whole almost 10 minute video lol.
Still a beautiful rig. Thanks for the background information. RIP Lt. Peter Martin.
I'm glad to see this ladder 9 in service
So am I! Still going strong as a spare.
God Bless these brave men and women who serve each and every day for our safety❤️🙏🏻
As someone who loves classic big trucks this video makes me happy. My local fire department has a classic 1990s GMC tanker, she's not very fast but she can carry allot of water.
Reminds me of Ladder 3 in Camden NJ.
I really hope that somebody will buy ST99006/ST01007 and put it on display restored to its Ladder 9 appearance on 9/11/01. It deserves to be preserved.
It should be donated to the 9/11 Memorial museum in it's Ladder 9 livery along with its comrade, Engine 33 (SP980127) also in it's original livery on that day
I like this. First u showed us a engine from WTC and now a tower ladder thanks man great video. I great to see FDNY keeping such a memorable vehicle.
Ye FD will take this out of service sometime will they become museum peas somewhere.
Also if there anymore round love to see them.
3 great vid of old trucks
WTC Eng/ Ladd ✔️
Old foam tender ✔️
+ really love Fleet services videos hope see more of that too
Glad you liked those videos! These trucks will be auctioned off, it is up to whoever purchases them as to where it will end up. It could go to a museum if it lands into the right hands.
Thank you for showing me this amazing rig. She's definitely serving New York City proud. I would love to know where was engine 33 parked at during 9/11.
I did a Walk-around video showing where Engine 33 was & showing the rig since it’s still in the fleet. ruclips.net/video/WvPic1rXXa0/видео.html
@@Fdnyrigs There is a video of where the battalion 1 chief saying that they found his brother after the collapse of the North tower. I consider FDNY the best of all fire departments in America.
Awesome footage, always glad to see the content you post everyday
Thanks!
''light demo'' that was very cool of you to swing that!
Glad you liked that part, I try to do it with every rig I do a Walk-around of!
you would think with its history it would be going to a museum somewhere rather than being sold off.
Well, when it gets to that point of auctioning, hopefully someone will be able to buy and save it!
Classic! I hope they keep this around for a while and use it on 9/11. This is a really nice peace of art!
man that is an awesome story some volunteer company is going to love her one tough girl
Great video and tribute, THANK YOU! NEVER FORGET!!!🚒🇺🇸🚑
Appreciate it, and yes we will Never Forget.
Great job great catches as usual by fdny responding your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated thanks don't work to hard love and appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock still going strong ! Joe
Someone will be buying history, whether they know it or not.
Hopefully whoever does, knows what they’re getting rather than not knowing.
Such a beautiful rig, and a strong survivor since repair after 9/11. Maybe I could see it in person whenever I stop by NYC. Lol
At this point they really shouldn’t even auction her off. They should just put her in the museum.
They shouldn’t auction the rig off but, they do that with every truck so. It’s up to the people to purchase and save it.
@@Fdnyrigs man they should really put it in the museum if it’s the only truck that survived
@@ericthesoldier it’s not the only truck to survive. There were plenty of pieces of fire apparatus that were damaged, repaired & placed back into service. This one in particular though was different due to how severely damaged it was and yet they still fixed the rig and put it back to service only a short few months later. It goes to show you the great work, time and effort the men and women at Seagrave, and or any mechanic, engineer+ were willing to put into assisting on getting the fdny back on their feet.
@@Fdnyrigs it just sucks it’s like that you know
There are few things in life that are at the same time representing humanity in it’s purpose (Fire apparatus) and those we’ve lost, it’s in this Truck. God Bless.
I’m so curious about these engines for no reason
Love it!👍
What a beautiful rig. Great coverage!
Great work 👍🏻
Thank you :)
Gorgeous rig :O
Indeed it is!
🚒🚒🚒🚒👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So the only original parts would be the rear half and ladder? Why did it need a new chassis if only the top of the cab was burned?
I wish she was respected enough that the numbers under the left headlight were at the least not all crooked ... She deserves better
Is Ladder 10 still in the spare pool? Last photo I saw of it, the flag was taken off and stripes added, you couldn't tell it apart from any other spare ladder in the fleet.
It’s still in the fleet, it is not a spare though. It is a piece used at the Rock (FDNY’s training area) for chauffer training and other things.
Ahh okay didn't realize that's where it was. I'm hoping there are people tracking that truck and buy it at auction.
@@midwestmodelworks yeah hopefully someone saves it when the time comes.
Will it be in service for a couple more years
Probably will be in the fleet until next year at the latest.
Do you know the model of the lightbars?
Sorry for how long it took to respond just saw your comment. They I believe use the Code 3 XL mini bars. Clear lens center & Red lenses for the dual corner bars.
Was this truck refurbished?
Why not fire trucks don't
Age it has working parts
For large fleets have the
Same make.and model
Bye the way the older
Diesel engine s are more reliable and the
Up keep is cheaper its
A better bang for the
City of New York
Wait these are the ones i used to drive on vice city lol
