Very interesting video, thank you. A suggestion for a future video, for those that make their own arrows, how about a comparison of plastic nocks suitable for wooden arrows and different numbers of strands of strings. As getting the best fit (to the string) can be a problem. So perhaps giving the actual measurements of the nock's groove, so if one is a bit small people know which ones are slightly larger.

@@longbows Thanks for the quick reply. I must admit in other places I've seen that hot water isn't recommended as its not possible to get a consistent re-sizing of the nock.

I make my own strings. If I make an error in getting the length correct, it offers me the opportunity to get a longer or shorter bow to go with it. I now own too many bows. But I still love to make strings. 🙄

Yes, I make double loop, Flemish twist strings. I never even thought about a bowyer's knot!

You produce great information no matter the detail area of archery. Enjoy the banter between you and your father no matter the subject. You are the best archery channel on the Tube. !! One simple question: During the 100 years war period, during the major battles, did either army after the battle of coursepatrol the battlefield and retrieve usable arrows for repurposing...?? ... Have never heard anyone discuss this not even Kevin Hicks. Did any archers shoot opponents arrows back at them when running low on supply ? Just a dumb curious question...🦧

Those are very kind words, thanks! I would have picked up things I needed, I also would have looted from dead bodies, war a is a grizly terrible thing, plenty of accounts of people scavenging anything available, arrows were and still are very expensive. Having said all that I wasnt there, not even Kevin Hicks.
