I love these documentaries. Although there are many terrible aspects to the internet, it is wonderful to see a bright, driven young man like you finding RUclips as an avenue for your passion for history. Keep dreaming!
Awesome. There is almost nothing available about the Danelaw on RUclips; and its one of the most interesting topics I can think of. Well done. My favorite "What If" is what would have happened if King Harald had been able to make a deal at Stamford Bridge to give up Northumbria; then crushed the Normans at Hastings.
That would be fantastic. You do excellent work, so I'm sure it would be well done. I know you get endless requests, but if you ever get around to the Border Wars among the Scottish Reiver families and the Wardens of the Northern Marches, that would be amazing.
Love your videos, especially those around the viking/Saxon age of England. I’m born and bred in the northeast of England and have always loved the rich, if forgotten, history of the area.
After a year studying at a quite privileged university in the south-and requisite visits to London-the Northeast was the first part of England I really saw. I stayed in York and then Whitby, where I fell in love with the coast. Of course, I knew a little about the Viking history, the Danelaw, and the evidence of Norse settlement in place names like “Whitby” and much of the English language-as well as later upheavals like the Pilgrimage of Grace. It’s great to finally connect that history with, say, the name “Scarborough!” It’s a beautiful part of the country and everyone I met was quite friendly.

Once more an excellent piece of work, and you have a great way of expressing the drama without being tacky or over the top, just the right tone of tenseness. Thanks for your time and effort.

Fan of all your videos. Ive seen them all, some of them many times. Love your presentations, they are perfect. Your voice is amazingly well fit as narrator to these epic sagas. Well done again Mr Pete Kelly. Will be donating to your patreon soon! Keep it up man!
I always returned to your channel thinking maybe RUclips notifications were being horrible, but then Im greeted with a 45 minute video. Best thing all week!
Pete, your straightforward but methodical way ot illustrating and presenting these histories has helped me learn more about English history. Great job and great personal story. From David Dickey, Arkansas, USA.
incredible video, thanks so much. I know you've got tons on your plate but the Saxon/Germanuic entrance into Britain has always fascinated me, as well as the Celtic, if it was even an entrance. I'd love to hear of this time period. Thanks for everything.
They will be anywhere from 5 minutes to 50 minutes. That is the beauty of being a one man project. I can take as long or as little time as is needed to tell the story : )
+Micahistory please. you are really baseless and infuriating. HistoryTime has always thanked me and liked my comments. Normal people give eachother input and that is what we are doing. It is also how Historytime receives my comments. You really have no say in it. I dont know why you are still insisting on saying anything on the topic. Your videos are poorly made, and poorly planned. When I commented those many weeks ago, I gave you fair criticism and it you took it badly. That is your problem. I hardly said anything. I need you to stop making these personal comments because it is childish, it is incorrect and it is undeserved. Please just grow up or go away. Either way it is up to you.
@Cory Presser Actually 'irregardless' is a word, it just has no meaning - like Winston Churchill's perennial 'revelant'. I'm not sure that lexicographical criticism belongs here unless it's started by qualified lexicographers or highly qualified amateurs like me - and I'm not sure that it should be even then.
I absolutely love what you are doing...your tone...diction and background music are very much on point...just like the information...my only desire was that the maps stayed on a little longer...i have to pause and replay a lot to fully assimilate....but i understand the need for a certain pace in view of the amount of information you.put in...just keep up the fantastic work friend!
