SOS -I have major publications (5+), press from a Reality tv show recently showing/aired but IG keeps saying “verification wasn’t reviewed because you used a personal photo I.D.” I have used a clear pic of my passport as well as drivers license. It allows me to try again days later, but Unsure why this is happening?
Interesting. I googled and it looks like others have received that error when they're applying as a business. Did you apply as a business or as a personal account? It makes logical sense to receive that error if you applied as a business but submitted personal ID. Hope that helps - C

Should I switch to a “professional account?” Unsure if that matters. It doesn’t have me awaiting 30 days which is cool-just frustrating that it continues to say the same error message about a personal photo when that’s not evident.
@@ShadomanG Yeah it could help. If you did apply personally then there's no reason for that error. If you have access to the publicist from the reality show, that might be helpful, too. They usually have a direct line to Meta. If you're getting verified as you expect brand collabs and such coming, it'd be optimal to switch to a professional account as a Creator and apply from there. You can do that later if it continues to mess up - C

If you're referring to notability verification, it's not based on followers; you need to prove that you're "notable" and they use things like media artists in globally-recognized publications to warrant that. You could be notable but have 5 followers. If you're referring to the business side of verification, followers also aren't a factor; it's more about how long you've had the account, do you use it daily, are you a real business etc. Hope that helps - C

It's really up to you if you feel it's worth it. The benefits are decent, but it's really about whether it's helpful or valuable to you. If you're a pro player, you could get your PR team to apply for notabililty verification and see if that works - C

Thanks for this! :) one question: If an account is meta verified in whatever way, do their messages end up in peoples main inbox? We currently have the problem that our messages end up in the hidden inbox and if the verified badge can change that, we'll make it a priority to get verified ASAP.
So welcome! They haven't publicly said anything about that, but your messages should always go to Requests and not Hidden - if they're going into Hidden, that could mean that IG sees your account or the message as spam, which is a different issue. You could test it for a month and see how it goes and decide then if it's worth keeping. Hope that helps - C

I see a lot of AI pages being verified, how do they do it like the name on the ID has to match the name of the profile? But its AI the person does not exist
@@Highseasonco Oh so they changed that since the launch of Meta verification? I remember when it first came out in order to be meta verified you have to use the same name that matches on your identification card.
