The sound from the nexadyne is nice. I’ve been using it for my more recent content.

Wld love to hear a comparison between the Heil PR35 and this mic. I’ve yet to find a mic that can compare to/compete with a Heil PR35…I’ve been singing for 40 yrs and have tried “many” mics!!!

Don’t have a Heil PR35, but do have the 40 and 30 which are more suited for podcasting. What do you like most about the 35?

Nice comparisons! I was considering the Sm7dB for recording vocals at home. Would you consider the nexadyne 8/s for a first time home studio to record vocals in an untreated room? It would double as a live performance mic.

The SM7DB is a better podcast mic for sure, especially in rooms that aren't well treated. It also does great for vocals (singing, etc) - but is different sounding (warmer/boomier). It has a built-in preamp so the noise floor is low when you increase the gain and you get far less of the room noise which is super important for podcasts and making thinner voices sound more full. But if you want to use a mic that can be used in both home studio and performance situations - the Nexadyne is a great option as not only looks great as a performance vocal mic in addition to killing all the mic bleed you may get onstage. You can hear in the video that the Nexadyne has more clarity, so you may want to treat your home studio somewhat to avoid any unwanted reverb from the room. Does this help you?

Super helpful, definitely want to get the SM7dB at some point because of its versatility. The Nexadyne 8/s is checking off a lot of boxes at the moment due to needing a microphone that will cut through the stage bleed and add mid/highs to a voice is that is already warm. I’m also thinking it’s off axis reduction of noise will be helpful ro record vocals in a room that has not been professionally treated. It would be nice to buy a condenser microphone but it’s been suggested to me they only be used in professionally treated rooms. Gonna bite the bullet and give it a try🙏

@@agenxphyte Nice! Let us know how you go with it! It's also far less expensive than the SM7DB! Good luck and have fun!

    Does it need phantom power?

Nope! It’s a dynamic mic, so no need!

shure has produced many microphones, recently KSM8 more expensive than Nexadyne but did not gain popularity. Is Nexa 8 better than Beta58, for sure because Beta is an old product??? we have beta 87 which is the best of them all. is it worth paying $400 for nexa8? not worth it because it is Shure combined with other brands. Audiotechnika At99, 6100. Sennheiser 935 945. Lewit. They play better and are cheaper.

The Nexadyne 8/S is 300, not 400 but it sounds as if it’s not just the price you have issues with. Thanks for watching

Why would you compare a performance mic to a broadcast mic? Isn't it totally different applications?

We've had requests as some performers want something versatile and we also compare it to the SM58, which is known for performance. Thanks for watching!

7B sounds better for spoken voice.

Agree, it definitely is more of a broadcast microphone - but this is a great vocal mic and fun to test it out! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment here!
