The Shure MVX2U Connects Your SM58 To Your Computer With Powerful Simplicity!
When using for game broadcasting, which is better, sm7b or NexaDyne?
The SM7db for sure. If you wanted to save a few bucks and didn’t want to mess with an XLR interface - the Shure MV7+ and MV6 are also great gaming options. We did reviews on this channel as well. Does that help you?
I have a problem where I can hear the voice changer with mic monitor but nobody can hear the changer and only my mic
Solid show Dealcaster Guys. All about engagement and interviewing demand gen leaders.
Thanks Doug!
Better explained impossible!
Thanks for watching!
There is a lot of other microphones with much better sound at same price range.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to bring your thoughts! In many cases - it's hard to argue that different mics are better for a lot of folks - but the SM58 by far is the most widely used in a lot of stages and broadcast situations so we felt like this would help the most people. Thanks again for watching!
What size xlr cables plus into the interface, is it a 3.5mm or a larger jack, many thabks for the video!
It is a standard XLR (microphone) cable that inputs into the interface. Since it is a dual input, you can plug in a 1/4" cable into it as well. As for the line-in input (for tablets, phones, etc) it is a 1/8" input. Does that help you?
@Dealcasters thanks I think I know what you mean, I have a rode podcaster with a 3.5mm xlr cable so should work fine thanks for the help!
@@nervouscabbage actually - the rode podcaster is a usb mic - and will not work with this interface. USB mics like the Rode Podcaster are made to plug directly into computers. The mic input for interfaces like this are for XLR mics (not USB mics) with traditional mic cables.
@Dealcasters I have the xlr style one I may have got the name wrong it's just arrived thanks for all this info it's super handy!
Is there any way to connect in ear monitors in to hear your desktop sounds through the mixer?
Yes, select this interface as your input source in your sound settings of your computer.
Is there anyway to control your computer volume with this mixer or desktop volume
Yes, you can adjust the volume of what you hear from your computer via the monitor of the mixer - and can also switch the output to different sources in your computer settings. Does this help you?
Brutal
don’t have either one, i think i’m gonna go with the sm7db thankyou for the comparison!
excellent choice! Let us know how it goes for you!
So, I don’t need a scarlet box and a cloud lifter??
All depends on your particular setup. If you have an XLR microphone and you want to use it with a computer - you'll need an interface like the Scarlett or this Shure MVX2U. A Cloudlifter can be added to that chain in either case (If your mic is dynamic, tube or ribbon). Does that help?
I can hear the slight background noise vanished after plugging into the CL1. I am buying the CL1 for my sm58.
Great! That's the sound of clean gain offsetting the gain needed from the interface preamps. Glad this helped you - and please keep us posted how it goes!
You think this would work with the shure MV7?
It does - and sounds great with it!
Looks like a good one!!! :)
It was a blast!
why wouldn't you show how much louder it sounds before bringing level down? it would be more useful to understand how much louder it can get
Because the gain increase would distort the output. You have to bring the mixer/interface preamp gain down to attenuate the difference so it won’t distort and clip. Does that help you?
Sounds pretty distorted, which might be the noise deduction being turned on. The sound quality just doesn’t cut it.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to time to offer your opinion!
How long is the cord?
@@louology6754 approximately 5 feet long. Thanks for watching!
no comparison? pretty useless vid
Thanks for watching! We have a bunch of comparisons with Cloudlifters on the channel. Impossible to do that in under 1 minute! Thanks again!
So good
Would it make sense to get the 7b with cloud lifter in case I want to power other power hungry microphones in the future?
100% yes. We use Cloudlifters on virtually every one of our dynamic mics, even if they aren't necessarily "gain hungry" like the SM7B is. We've done other videos here on the channel using the CL-1 and CL-X with other mics. Cloud also makes a CL-2 where you can plug in up to 2 mics locally and get the clean gain for both. Does that help you?
(Sorry Nano-texture glass users, this one isn’t for you!) Is Nano texture glass creates any issue? it is just a screen i believe? any one using this for Nano texture M4?
Is it good for singers?
Absolutely. Paired with the Motiv Mix software, you can also add different reverbs if you’d like. Since it’s dynamic it does a good job of removing noise in a room as well. Does that help you?
@@Dealcasters yes thanks. Just received Microphone. I can hear a difference. Still working on the motiv mix ( had to get a USB C - A adapter Will be trying shortly
Great! Please let us know how it goes!
@@dlsdelessemusic excellent! Please let us know if you have any questions and keep us posted! Glad we could help you!
Really cool man.... Thanks for sharing this!!!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment here. We love PodMatch! Outstanding!
@@Dealcasters Thanks so much!!!
I can't tell the difference with the Shure but big diff with the yeti!
I bought one of these from Amazon and use it for my podcast - works great! Do they make ones that are smaller?
Thanks for watching! Yes - there are some smaller ones available on Amazon!
Thing looks ridiculous lol.
Probably not the best look for some on video, but for vocal sound treatment I was surprised at how much better it made the Yeti sound. Thanks for watching!
Why isn’t this compatible with the Nano textured iPad Pro m4 12.9inch? It’s just the difference of the screen/glass and not the size. So why?
@@gauravmalvai6534 my iPad M4 is a Nano and I am using it with it. I guess they don’t want to advertise that it is usable with the Nano because they are concerned about compatibility, but I have had no problems.
@@Dealcasters thank you so much for replying. Appreciate your help.
@@gauravmalvai6534 so glad it helped you!
HELP! I bought the Shure movemic 2 to live stream through my iphone. However, I have been unsuccessful livestreaming with this microphone for my TikTok Lives. Do you have any suggestions
We haven’t done it, but you *should* be able to do this by getting your TikTok streaming key and then inputting that into the Shure Motiv Video app. Here is where you get your TikTok stream key: restream.io/learn/platforms/how-to-find-tiktok-stream-key/
Then go into Motiv Video, click the live icon in the bottom right and select “Custom platform” - that’s where you’d enter the TikTok stream key info. Does that help you?
I updated the driver for windows 11 now is not luoud enough
TRRS means having to carry around an adapter in order to use it with a camera, this is a cellphone accessory.
Thanks for watching
great review. Was thinking about getting this, I'll have to click on your links if I do as you did such an awesome job. Love the production of it all. It's not easy to do everything you did, I know how it can be to do multiple angles, make sure you test all the options, and do a comparison with other mics. So, amazing job; you are doing some really great things. Thanks for all you do brother.
@@StrongWithin1 really appreciate you saying all this! It’s super fun to do it, and means a lot that you took the time to say it! Thank you!
Literally, the stupidest video ever you said how to cast from quest, but I was just a video on crome cast
Thanks for watching!
how would I link up a video with the audio for a video recording?
@@azrayvideos select either the mic directly (usb), MotivMix (as your virtual mic), or your interface on your computer’s sound settings. Does that help you?
@@Dealcasters yes thank you
You're welcome, and thanks for watching!
does the xlr cord plugged from the microphone --> to the mvx2u have a different sound than the mvx2u plugged in directly to the microphone ? does the XLR cord improve the sound quality at all having them plugged in directly to the microphone between the interface ?
Any time that you add something into an audio chain, there is a chance that it will affect the sound - however if you have a quality mic cable (XLR) you will not be able to tell any difference at all. Does that help?
i watch your videos and i play video games...
Awesome! Thanks for watching and letting us know!
Whenever I close MOTIV Mix, my MV6 resets back to default settings and I can no longer use the MOTIV Mix Virtual Output input source. Do you have to keep the app open 24/7 or is there a way to save the settings to your mic? I tried just saving the settings as a file but that doesn't seem to work.
That’s crazy - are you Mac or PC? The settings are supposed to stay with the mic. Have you tried Shure customer support?
How can I get them from Africa Tanzania 🇹🇿
I’m not sure. How do you typically order shipments of products if not through Amazon?
Great review. I definitely hear a difference. The 7B is superior.
Thanks for watching!
Is it Bluetooth to?
It’s GPS - much more reliable!
You also have to pay a sub to use it.

I use the beta 58A for live performances but i’m gonna make the switch.
Excellent! Thanks for watching!
MV7X is absolutely perfect. I got it today and it is all I might need. Pure quality and extremely low noise and right price.
100% agree! That mic is totally underrated
would this be suitable to record lectures in uni? I tried it on my phone but since the lecturer is far away and the other students are noisy it doesn't really work
The mic will likely pick up other noises in the room besides just the lectures. One solution would be to place the recorder as close to the lecturer as possible. Thanks for watching!
@@Dealcasters thank you! Is there a way to filter out the noises in post production? If yes what do you recommend to use software wise?
@@trepentine Izotope RX is what many people use to filter out unwanted sound frequencies - but it is somewhat complicated and can be pricey. We've also used Auphonic to remove noise as well. I hope that helps you!
The SM58 sounds like absolute shite compared to the Nexadyne 8 lol. I'm liking the Nexadyne for sure.
Ha! Wow, hot take! Definitely a different sound for sure. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
You’re the first one I’ve seen with this updated version
Awesome, thanks for watching!
What a blast! Thanks for having us on!
You delivered! It was our honor - thank you!
FYI: This does not work on Guam. I wanted a GPS tracker for my motorcycle just in case someone steals my bike. I bought the subscription but no connectivity. I called customer service/support and they said it won’t connect but they are trying to make it happen since people have been asking. They said maybe 2025.
Thanks for letting us know and good luck!
Hi! Do you know if you can change between NTSC and PAL on the videoapp? I live in a PAL region, so 25fps would be more convenient
You can change the video format from within the app to different resolutions at 25 fps. I hope that helps you! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment here.
@@Dealcasters thanks to you for taking the time to make the video and answering questions!
